Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, fork lift, hand truck and/or electric pallet jack, as appropriate. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads materials into vehicles to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Conveys materials from storage sites to designated loading area. Counts and records number of units of materials moved or handled, breakage and spoilage on appropriate sheets. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases and other containers. Loads and unloads trucks. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and wraps bundles together. They work closely with the physical therapy departments in and see the bulk of the upper extremity and hand patients. Though the primary caseload will be upper extremity and hand patients, they may also treats pediatric, neuro, and other diagnoses. There are many opportunities to grow this department based on the training and willingness to train in new areas, such as Lymphoedema, Parkinson's (LSVT BIG/LOUD), Women's health, and Pediatrics. The sky is the limit for the driven self-motivated therapist with a desire to grow and learn. Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy. Skilled in orthopedic upper extremity treatment. Certified Hand Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Women's Health or other certifications are beneficial but not required. - willingness to work towards one or all of the above is ideal.
