Position Summary: Tetra Tech is seeking a full-time remote field Environmental Technician with experience in landfill CQA. Construction projects will be managed and staffed through our Rochester and Middletown, NY offices. Project locations will be throughout New York, New Jersey, and other Northeast regions. Responsible for performing a variety of field and office support tasks under the direction and coordination of project managers and engineers. The position involves observing and documenting contractor activities related to utility construction, geosynthetic installation, and landfill gas system construction. Work is performed independently with guidance from designers and engineers. The role requires clear communication of observations to internal project teams and the relay of directions to contractors. Serves as the onsite representative for the project team, with primary contact being internal project staff. Essential Job Functions: The following duties are considered essential to the role. Required Qualifications: * High School diploma. * 3-10 years' experience in environmental construction services or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. * Mechanical and technical aptitude and understanding of field equipment. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. * Experience reading contract documents and confirm contract adherence to same. * Experience with documenting the installation of landfill liners, covers, and leachate gas systems. * Ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions from owners, contractors, and colleagues. Good overall communication skills in writing. * Basic math skills for addition, subtraction, division, multiplication. Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, and other software as necessary to perform job functions. Authorizes/approves all project personnel transactions (expense reports, etc.), purchase requisitions, change request, etc., under supervision of Director of Construction/President or Project Manager. - Ensures all field personnel adhere to all company, client and project policies, procedures, standards, etc. (verifies all PGL personnel are properly trained). - Maintains official project log and documentation files for all projects. - Visits job sites regularly as required for training, job audits, meetings, etc. - Verifies/approves punch list and final inspections are performed and correct. - Monitors manpower and budget requirements in collaboration with appropriate project management personnel to anticipate the need for on-site personnel changes.
