**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a talented Transportation Engineer or Transportation Planner to work on a team supporting our contract with Florida's Turnpike Enterprise located in Ocoee, Florida.
This position will be responsible for the application of the recently developed statewide tour-based model along with the application of regional travel demand models. The job duties include fulfillment of model enhancement, data updates, code maintenance, and project application requests for innovative toll project evaluations while contributing to a multidisciplinary team specializing in planning, economic feasibility analysis and design of toll roads.
**Primary Functions:**
The Transportation Engineer/Planner will utilize skills and experience to create and update model data, code towards the project application using the following programs / modeling platforms: Visum, TransCAD, QGIS, R, and Python software, as well as use of Generative AI (LLMs or Chatbots).
The Engineer/Planner will work to assemble and prepare data for model validation and long-range future year travel forecasts; model validation to required accuracy standards; development of forecasts for toll road projects; and documentation of results. As part of the model design, the Engineer/Planner will use QGIS/ArcGIS with related database development and application skills, along with SQL/Python/R or other programming languages. Position will also utilize analytical skills for research on design, data development, and statistical analyses to address perceived model shortcomings and recommend an improved modeling approach.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning or related field
+ 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educatiobn
+ Knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of transportation planning applications, specifically the disaggregate choice demand modeling such as Tour-based, Activity-Based Models and route choice modeling in Micro-simulation and Macro-Dynamic Traffic Assignment (macro DTA);
+ Programming and scripting experience with at least two of the following: C++ (preferred), JAVA, Pascal, and scripting languages such as Python(preferred), Rscript (preferred);
+ Proficient using development environments Eclipse and Visual Studio including use of AI to assist in code development and debugging;
+ Knowledge of travel demand modeling software, such as Cube, TransCAD, and Visum (preferred);
+ Knowledge of choice models, development, and application to travel demand, use of econometrics in estimating demand models from survey data;
+ Knowledge of GIS and database analysis including developing scripts to process data in and out of GIS files or automated routines in QGIS / ArcGIS.
+ Experience utilizating advanced techniques with modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of planning sciences, data sciences (preferred) and related disciplines;
+ Experience with Cloud technologies, Web Apps is helpful along with version control software like GitHub and Subversion but not a must have requirement.

* Serve as logistics inventory manager on TDR response and recovery projects and coordinate with Project Managers on forecasting resource needs and timelines.
* Lead and oversee scheduled and physical inventory counts, ensure audit readiness through comprehensive documentation and reporting. Investigate, identify, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
* Perform additional logistics functions such as resource tracking, procurement, and travel coordination during periods of post-disaster emergency response/recovery.

* Conduct daily analyses of inventory to forecast documenting potential inventory shortage for field equipment.

* Lead coordination of shipping, tracking and return of field logistics equipment for multiple on-going projects.
* Provide guidance, mentorship and leadership to inventory clerks, warehouse staff, or temporary personnel during inventory activities or special projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Knowledge of, and experience interpreting and applying, building and fire codes and NFPA standards.
- Knowledge of active and passive fire protection systems, including fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, smoke control systems, fire resistive construction and egress systems.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting with internal and external clients.
- Strong technical writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD.
- Experience with Fire Dynamics Simulator, Contam, Pathfinder and other computer modeling software is a plus.
Education and Experience
Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or other closely related engineering discipline with an emphasis in Fire Protection Engineering coursework.
Four (4) plus years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as those listed above.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) who has passed the fire protection engineering examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, or actively working towards obtaining Fire Protection Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

- Locations in VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 88,300.00 - Max Salary $ 128,000.00
- Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 97,100.00 - Max Salary $ 140,800.00
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Job Description
AECOM is seeking a talented Transportation Engineer or Transportation Planner to work on a team supporting our contract with Florida's Turnpike Enterprise located in Ocoee, Florida.
This position will be responsible for the application of the recently developed statewide tour-based model along with the application of regional travel demand models. The job duties include fulfillment of model enhancement, data updates, code maintenance, and project application requests for innovative toll project evaluations while contributing to a multidisciplinary team specializing in planning, economic feasibility analysis and design of toll roads.
Primary Functions:
The Transportation Engineer/Planner will utilize skills and experience to create and update model data, code towards the project application using the following programs / modeling platforms: Visum, TransCAD, QGIS, R, and Python software, as well as use of Generative AI (LLMs or Chatbots).
The Engineer/Planner will work to assemble and prepare data for model validation and long-range future year travel forecasts; model validation to required accuracy standards; development of forecasts for toll road projects; and documentation of results. As part of the model design, the Engineer/Planner will use QGIS/ArcGIS with related database development and application skills, along with SQL/Python/R or other programming languages. Position will also utilize analytical skills for research on design, data development, and statistical analyses to address perceived model shortcomings and recommend an improved modeling approach.
Qualifications
Minimum:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning or related field
* 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educatiobn
* Knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of transportation planning applications, specifically the disaggregate choice demand modeling such as Tour-based, Activity-Based Models and route choice modeling in Micro-simulation and Macro-Dynamic Traffic Assignment (macro DTA);
* Programming and scripting experience with at least two of the following: C++ (preferred), JAVA, Pascal, and scripting languages such as Python(preferred), Rscript (preferred);
* Proficient using development environments Eclipse and Visual Studio including use of AI to assist in code development and debugging;
* Knowledge of travel demand modeling software, such as Cube, TransCAD, and Visum (preferred);
* Knowledge of choice models, development, and application to travel demand, use of econometrics in estimating demand models from survey data;
* Knowledge of GIS and database analysis including developing scripts to process data in and out of GIS files or automated routines in QGIS / ArcGIS.
* Experience utilizating advanced techniques with modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of planning sciences, data sciences (preferred) and related disciplines;
* Experience with Cloud technologies, Web Apps is helpful along with version control software like GitHub and Subversion but not a must have requirement.
Preferred:
* Proficient in technical writing skills and verbal communication abilities to present modeling results for various stakeholders (clients, TRB or IBTTA conferences, model user groups).
* Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning or related field
