**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking an **Entry-Level Geologist** to join our Remediation team in our **Orlando, Florida** office. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients.
This is a field-based role comprising approximately 80 to 90% field work and 10 to 20% office-based work. The candidate will join a large established team conducting environmental assessment and remediation projects across the state of Florida. The candidate will communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team. Note this role may require travel outside of Florida (from days to weeks) to support projects as needed across the United States. This role will require occasional overnight stays within the state of Florida.

Our Orlando office has an opportunity available for a Driller Trainee.
A driller trainee will assist the crew chief in solid auger and rotary drilling techniques. The trainee will help move, set up and operate drill rigs and related equipment to drill test holes for geotechnical engineering studies. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on sites to be developed as building, roadways and bridges. Work is outdoors. The work is generally physically demanding. However, safety in our work is an uncompromised value and we are proud of our safety record.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ability to lift drill steel and materials weighing up to 80 lbs.
* Label sample containers as directed
* Assist driller in maintenance and repairs to drill rig
* Performs duties at multiple job sites
* Assist in measuring test boring locations
* Load and unload trucks
* Smoothly and quickly connect and disconnect the lower parts of the drill pipe when it is being lowered into and raised from the test hole
* Obtain samples of the soil for analysis
* Assist in installing monitoring well casing and screens
* Clean and maintain equipment
* Help move drilling rigs and equipment from site to site, set up on the new site
* Assist with well development and pumping tests
* Operate equipment such as pumps for air, water and mud, and equipment and tools used to correct problems in drilled holes
* Carry out minor maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and cleaning
* Perform other duties as assigned by the crew chief
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience preferred, but will train
* Mechanical skills preferred
* Class A or Class B CDL license a plus
* Must be able to obtain DOT Medical Examiners Certificate or have current certificate prior to employment
* Must pass company background checks including drug screen
* Must have acceptable driving record within company standards

**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a talented Transportation Engineer or Transportation Planner to work on a team supporting our contract with Florida's Turnpike Enterprise located in Ocoee, Florida.
This position will be responsible for the application of the recently developed statewide tour-based model along with the application of regional travel demand models. The job duties include fulfillment of model enhancement, data updates, code maintenance, and project application requests for innovative toll project evaluations while contributing to a multidisciplinary team specializing in planning, economic feasibility analysis and design of toll roads.
**Primary Functions:**
The Transportation Engineer/Planner will utilize skills and experience to create and update model data, code towards the project application using the following programs / modeling platforms: Visum, TransCAD, QGIS, R, and Python software, as well as use of Generative AI (LLMs or Chatbots).
The Engineer/Planner will work to assemble and prepare data for model validation and long-range future year travel forecasts; model validation to required accuracy standards; development of forecasts for toll road projects; and documentation of results. As part of the model design, the Engineer/Planner will use QGIS/ArcGIS with related database development and application skills, along with SQL/Python/R or other programming languages. Position will also utilize analytical skills for research on design, data development, and statistical analyses to address perceived model shortcomings and recommend an improved modeling approach.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning or related field
+ 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educatiobn
+ Knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of transportation planning applications, specifically the disaggregate choice demand modeling such as Tour-based, Activity-Based Models and route choice modeling in Micro-simulation and Macro-Dynamic Traffic Assignment (macro DTA);
+ Programming and scripting experience with at least two of the following: C++ (preferred), JAVA, Pascal, and scripting languages such as Python(preferred), Rscript (preferred);
+ Proficient using development environments Eclipse and Visual Studio including use of AI to assist in code development and debugging;
+ Knowledge of travel demand modeling software, such as Cube, TransCAD, and Visum (preferred);
+ Knowledge of choice models, development, and application to travel demand, use of econometrics in estimating demand models from survey data;
+ Knowledge of GIS and database analysis including developing scripts to process data in and out of GIS files or automated routines in QGIS / ArcGIS.
+ Experience utilizating advanced techniques with modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of planning sciences, data sciences (preferred) and related disciplines;
+ Experience with Cloud technologies, Web Apps is helpful along with version control software like GitHub and Subversion but not a must have requirement.

Fire protection systems detect, control and reduce fire and smoke in buildings and structures. FPEs perform construction progress inspections and acceptance tests / commissioning to ensure that installed systems comply with the construction documents and applicable codes and that they function as intended. * Perform calculations to analyze and design engineering system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
