Your Role:
* Assist in the design and analysis of structural components and systems for energy and land development projects.
* Prepare detailed engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
* Review and interpret topographic surveys and geotechnical investigation reports.
* Conduct field site inspections of existing and new construction to verify compliance with design specifications.
* Estimate project materials, equipment, and labor costs to support feasibility analyses.
* Contribute to construction administration tasks such as submittal reviews, RFIs, and field change requests.
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary project teams to ensure integration of civil, structural, and environmental aspects.
* Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
* Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
* 0-7 years of relevant engineering experience.
* Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
* Experience using AutoCAD for plan development.
* Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC design codes.
* Familiarity with structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, LPile, and/or Revit.
* Mathcad experience a plus.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
* Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Qualifications
* 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience
* Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
* Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications including hydrology modeling program, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
* Experience with task management, concept design, and assisting project management tasks
* Familiar with coordinating with clients, attending client meetings, and overseeing quality standards
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Ability to build plan sets and other construction documents
* Design experience that includes utilities, site layout, drainage, due diligence and permitting

Your Key Responsibilities
- Support our transportation-focused structural engineering group
- Conduct basic calculations and assist in developing engineer's estimates
- Assist team in preparing CAD drawings and reports
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- An interest in the structural components of transportation engineering planning, design, and construction
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills
- Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of structural design
Education and Experience
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree engineering program, with preference to those focusing on structural design.
- Previous experience in Microsoft products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
- Previous experience with Bentley MicroStation/Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD/Civil 3D is a plus.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for our Tampa, Florida office. This is a vacant position for which we are actively recruiting. * Review and authenticate functional and detailed designs of site preparation, storm water management, site grading, access roads, and fencing for projects in the power industry.
* Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.
* Apply knowledge of North American codes, regulations and standards and have a good working knowledge of local Municipal Specifications, Guidelines and best industry practices.
* Provide technical leadership to the Civil team on projects.
* Participate in design reviews on various projects and provide technical input.
* Monitor project schedule and budgets within your area of responsibility and report status on a regular basis
* Attend project meetings as required
Required Qualifications:
* 10+ years experience in civil engineering, specifically in transmission lines, high voltage substations, industrial, power generation, hydro, and/or utility projects is considered an asset.
* Experience in industrial design including but not limited to: site development, grading and drainage design, site utilities / tie-ins, erosion control, and road design
* Working knowledge of civil design standards in the USA
* Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
* Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and be licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the USA
* Knowledge of the following software packages is an asset: Civil 3D, XP Storm, Water Cad, AutoTurn and AutoDesk AVT.
* Must be able to work independently and with others on multiple projects.
* Able to work as part of a multi-discipline design team.
* Experience in business development and structural design would be an asset.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
