Assisting with coordination of various governmental agencies regarding ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, endangered and threatened species coordination, or compliance with environmental permit and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Identify potential environmental impacts through reviews of engineering plans, aerials, field data, desktop research, and GIS databases.
Conduct visual inspections of drainage facilities
Working with the team leads to becoming familiar with our field survey equipment, data forms and other data collection and reporting tools.
Assisting in preparing permit applications, NEPA documents, and other technical information.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology or another related field.
The position requires fieldwork, and the candidate must have reliable transportation and be able to travel overnight. Field work may require working long days outdoors, over uneven densely vegetated terrain, sometimes under rigorous conditions (e.g., hot and/or rainy weather, remote areas, in a variety of habitats).
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Position requires experience in sensor or swath calibration and alignment adjustment. Preferred experience using mainstream commercial software suites (Bayesmap StripAlign, TerraSolid Products) or adjustments done in sensor vendor specific suites (Optech LMS, Riegl RiProcess,). Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

DRILLER TRAINEE
Our Sarasota office has an opportunity available for a Driller Trainee. The starting pay rate is $17 per hour plus depending on applicable experience. A sign-on bonus up to $1,000 may be available.
A driller trainee will assist the crew chief in solid auger and rotary drilling techniques. The trainee will help move, set up and operate drill rigs and related equipment to drill test borings for geotechnical engineering studies. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on sites to be developed as buildings, roadways and bridges. Work is outdoors. The work can be physically demanding at times. Safety in our work is an uncompromised value and we are proud of our safety record.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lift drill rods and materials weighing up to 80 lbs.
* Label sample containers as directed
* Assist crew chief in cleaning and maintaining drill rig
* Perform duties at multiple job sites
* Assist in measuring test boring locations
* Obtain samples of the soil for analysis
* Help move drill rig and equipment from site to site
* Operate equipment such as pumps for air, water and drilling bentonite fluid
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Experience preferred, but will train
* Mechanical skills preferred
* Must be able to obtain DOT Medical Examiners Certificate or have current certificate prior to employment
