SUMMARY:
Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two (2) courses) within the required discipline. Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.
* Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
* Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
* Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
* Assist/mentor students as needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Must have a terminal degree, including a JD, in a field of business or have a master's level degree and one or more earned, actively maintained, recognized industry credentials.
* High demand credentials include a range of industry certifications and licenses, including by not limited to CPA, CFA, CFE, CFP, CMA, CIA, a PMI credential, Real Estate license, Insurance license, bar admission, an ASCM Certification, Six Sigma, Certified Analytics Professional, SCRUM Master, etc.
* Master's or higher in the teaching discipline or a master's in another field with 18+ graduate hours in the discipline.
Experience: Must have some teaching or industry experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
* Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.
* Proficiency with LMS (e.g., D2L/Canvas/Blackboard), Zoom (or equivalent), and publisher platforms (e.g., Connect, MyLab, MindTap)

Sul Ross State University Alpine Campus is in the Scenic Davis Mountains of West Texas, is a member of the Texas State University System, is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, and has an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students of campus in Alpine, Texas.
