EnMed is the School of Engineering Medicine's innovative medical education program, developed in a partnership with the, Texas A&M College of Medicine, Texas A&M College of Engineering and Houston Methodist Hospital, to educate "physicianeers," a new kind of physician who will create transformational technology to solve health care's greatest challenges. The EnMed medical education program offers a blended engineering and medicine curriculum with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. EnMed is the nation's only program that allows graduates to receive both the Master of Engineering and Doctor of Medicine degrees in four years. EnMed is located in Houston's Texas Medical Center (TMC).
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Participate in developing and delivering the pre-clerkship curriculum and working with other member of the EnMed faculty to integrate medical training with instruction in applying engineering principles toward advancing medical innovation and improving clinical medicine
* Teach within the integrated organ-block courses in the pre-clerkship curriculum, with focus on differential diagnosis and applying foundational science concepts
* Lead pre-clerkship courses based on areas of expertise
* Contribute to curricular development and development of innovative instructional methods, participation in committees and admissions, and fostering collaboration among the three EnMed partners
Qualifications
Required:
* Medical Degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
* Demonstrated expertise in one or more foundational USMLE pre-clerkship content areas - such as renal/urinary, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, or endocrine systems
* Clinical experience and a strong foundation in diagnostic reasoning and the application of differential diagnosis
Preferred:
* Experience teaching in pre-clerkship medical education
* Engineering background or experience teaching students with engineering or quantitative science backgrounds

The Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas (IDRT) in collaboration with the Department of Ocean Engineering and the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research and projects focused on disaster resilience, coastal engineering, hydrodynamic and morpho dynamic coastal processes, and flood risk reduction. IDRT is dedicated to enhancing disaster resilience by bridging the gap between research and decision-making. Our strategic approach involves conducting research on disaster risk reduction, promoting evidence-based solutions through outreach and technical assistance, and providing decision-makers with decision-support tools, data analytics, and policy solutions. The Department of Ocean Engineering conducts world-class research in offshore and nearshore systems including field, laboratory, and numerical approaches to better understand coastal processes and engineering systems that protect people, property, and infrastructure from storm damage. Required Education and Education
Doctoral (PhD) degree in Civil, Ocean, Mechanical Engineering or related field with a focus on Coastal Systems, Geotechnical Challenges, Coastal Numerical Modeling, Nearshore Field Data Collection, Hydraulic Engineering, or similar expertise.
Proficiency and experience in coastal numerical modeling tools such as circulation, flooding, wave and morphodynamic models AND/OR proficiency and experience in coastal field data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities
Research- Under general supervision, the post-doctoral researcher is responsible for conducting research and project tasks related to their (or adjacent) field of expertise. This will include data collection, analysis of research data and result summaries. Research and project tasks can cover a range of topics including: Coastal hydrodynamic and morpho dynamic numerical modeling. Field data collection and analysis of nearshore dynamics. Design and analysis of flood control infrastructure. Nature-based flood mitigation solutions. Flood risk and hazard analytics. Watershed and floodplain assessment. Flood forecasting and warning systems.
Mentoring- Assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on related research or project efforts.
Presentations / Publications- Present research outcomes to small and/or large groups. Actively participate in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.

This position analyzes and assesses criminal information of a confidential nature and develops comprehensive analytical reports based on available data. Focuses primarily on strategic, administrative, and research-oriented analytical projects. The employee is required to develop threat assessments, time series analyses regarding crime patterns, and to identify criminal groups, key individuals involved in organized criminal activity, their methods of operation, and the extent of the individual?s criminal influence on its organized criminal group. The employee may also be responsible for compiling various statistical reports, bulletins, informative booklets, etc. The employee is also responsible for quality control of data entered into various intelligence databases in order to maintain the integrity of intelligence data received and/or disseminated.
1. Analyzes organized crime patterns.
2. Compiles and analyses data to find the links between criminals and crimes, and the relationships between criminals and crime groups.
3. Prepares, edits, and revises reports, special projects, and publications on criminal associations and crime patterns
4. Interprets, reviews and makes recommendations in the evaluation and design of workflow, processes, policies, and procedures.
5. Researches all applicable files, database systems and case summaries in order to respond to intelligence and criminal activity inquiries from all state and federal law enforcement agencies (police agencies, FBI, DEA, ATF, IRS, etc.) and prosecuting attorneys concerning criminal activity; prepares documents and/or certified copies and disseminates to requestor.

Performs telephone record analysis charting methods and other link charting to determine interrelationships and transactions involving criminal activity? uses crime analysis techniques including, but not limited to, financial analysis, time series analysis, and case analysis to view and evaluate patterns of criminal activity; evaluates patterns of similar suspects or crime groups, to include maps, charts, and other statistics.
7. Researches, compiles, and disseminates to major case investigation officers and prosecutors, intelligence booklets containing all data on file on the subject in question for criminal activity? develop reports, threat assessments, bulletins, and other work products to enhance the flow of relevant trends of criminal activity? prepares a summary report and answers questions pertaining to the intelligence information to the law enforcement investigator or prosecutor.
8. Monitors Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), to stay abreast of any developing situations, including crimes, officer safety issues, severe weather conditions, etc; determines how the information should be disseminated to the approved audience and takes appropriate action.
9. Develops reports, threat assessments, bulletins and other work products in a timely manner to enhance the flow of relevant trends of criminal activity; determines which individuals or groups need the information based on the level of intelligence contained in the product; and then disseminates to the appropriate audience.
