Job Title Visiting Professor of Accounting Agency Texas A&M University - San Antonio Department Department Of Accounting & Finance Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Type Faculty Job Description The College of Business at Texas A&M University-San Antonio seeks applications for a Visiting Professor or Lecturer of Accounting to begin in January 2026-Fall 2026 start date may be considered. The initial appointment is for a period of one year. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position, subject to renewal based on performance and funding. The Visiting Professor or Lecturer will teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, mentor students, and support departmental service and program development.
Responsibilities:
* Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in accounting.
* Advise and mentor students.
* Support curriculum development and accreditation activities.
* Engage in service to the department, college, and university.
Required Education and Experience:
* Master's degree in Accounting; MBA with 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting; or J.D. with CPA certification.
* Evidence of effective university-level teaching.
* Commitment to student success and comprehensive teaching practices.
Preferred Education and Experience:
* Doctorate in Accounting or closely related field (completed or ABD).
* Professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, or equivalent).
* Experience teaching first-generation student populations.

This is a Visiting Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track, 9-month position). Primary duties will include teaching introductory and upper level courses for the biology program. Lecturers teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate sections in a given term. Appointments carry no guarantee or expectation of renewal or tenure.
Minimum Education and Experience
An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline/topic and a record of productivity and professional achievement.
Preferred Education and Experience
Candidate must have a degree in Organizations, Strategy, International Business, I/O Psychology, or a closely related field and three to five years of relevant industry work experience is required.
A PhD and seven or more years of relevant industry work experience is preferred.

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
