1962

With the rapid development of technologies in the postwar era, other forms of lighting were developed, producing the first diodes emitting visible red light, the Light Emitting Diode (LED) in 1962.

1965

Fifty years later, his son Jon is navigating the Lighting Revolution, with tectonic shifts in technology, trends and global competition rapidly shaping the lighting landscape. “We’ve seen more change in the past five years than the five decades before,” said Jon Sayah, President at Saylite. It began as Texas Fluorescents in 1965, when Larry Sayah bought a two-man fluorescent assembler.

1994

Founded in 1994, Luthin Associates provides energy advisory services to all industry sectors in the New York Tri-state region and beyond.

1995

After almost 30 years of development, the first phosphor-based blue (and later white) LEDs were seen in 1995.
