Many projects provide the opportunity for learning semiconductor wafer fab and assembly processing while interfacing with design engineering, product engineering, test engineering and quality engineering groups. Selected candidates will be assigned to one of several important, but different roles:
* Fab Quality Assurance Engineer - conduct frequent analysis of fab process control data, review, release and assist in the troubleshooting of fab processes; participate and assist in managing local audit programs; verify conformance of manufactured IC devices and process materials to relevant TI and customer specifications.
* Failure Analysis Engineer - perform failure analysis on products to determine the root cause of failure; work in cross-functional teams to resolve analysis issues; provide progress reports of analysis as well as a final written report of analysis and findings; and meet cycle time and success rate metrics established for customer satisfaction and quality team success.
* Customer Quality Engineer - manage customer returns and use TI tools to provide frequent status updates to affected customers; work effectively with test, design, product and planning engineers, regional quality engineers, regional planners, regional technical sales representatives and marketing representatives to solve customer challenges and provide answers.

THE ROLE:
Work in the power performance attainment (ie optimization) team to improve the battery life and performance of SoCs and Systems for not yet release and sometimes secret (NDA controlled) projects.
The CSIM Co-op/Intern is responsible for assisting the team with projects to achieve the battery life and performance goals through setting up, running, configuration of systems or experiments. The efforts will involve collecting power measurements, or performance results and finding the best configurations. Additionally analysis of results and presentation of these findings are equally important.

This position is for a Server Firmware Test Development Engineer. The Test Engineering role responsibilities include developing test cases for Server Firmware feature development for BIOS QA. Power Systems Design Co-op / Intern
The Role:
In the Datacenter and GPU Accelerated Processing Division, we design high-technology platforms for world-class products based on AMD's Graphics Processing Units (GPU's). Our team plays a major part in architecting and shaping every graphics board offered by AMD.
We design cutting-edge power converters for our discrete graphics boards that retail around the world. Facing always more stringent demands in terms of the current level, efficiency, and responsiveness, these designs are essential to maximize the performance from our GPU's in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate would be responsible for supporting the architecture, design, analysis, and verification of power systems intended for powering high performance CPUs/GPUs/APUs. The engineer will work with cross-functional teams to design and implement a full power delivery network, model and validate PDN impedance and droop targets, and verify power supply integrity using lab and in-situ silicon measurements. In addition, the candidate is expected to work with the Board Validation team to develop procedures to perform system-level validation for characterizing design margins on the power domains.
Qualifications:
Technical understanding of power supply architectures and PDN in server, OAM, and PCIe environments
Understanding and experience with multi-phase buck/buck-boost regulators, digital PWM controllers, bus converters, LDOs, PMICs, charge pumps, ADCs & DACs, etc
Working knowledge of 2D/2.5D EM simulation tools such as Sigrity's PowerDC, PowerSI, SiWave or equivalent
Knowledge of high frequency magnetics design for power electronics
Familiarity with PCB design tools such as OrCAD or Allegro
Ability to work with multiple cross functional teams
Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, eload, function generator, etc.
Experience with analog circuit modeling and simulation tools (e.g. Simplis, PSpice, HSpice etc.)
Must be a team player with good written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of AMD's SVIx power management interface

The Data Center GPU and Accelerated Processing Team delivers AMD products for Data Center, Machine Learning, and High Performance Computing. The Platform Emulation team (PEMU) is an integral part of Data Center GPU and Accelerated Processing group responsible for pre-silicon activities to support product bring-up and launch.
PLATFORM EMULATION ENGINEER INTERN
AMD is seeking a Platform Emulation Engineer Intern to join our Data Center GPU organization. Our products support the rapidly scaling Data Center and High Performance Compute infrastructure. You will be an integral member of the Platform emulation team responsible for emulation infrastructure development, execution and debug of critical firmware used in our HPC and ML products, developing test plans and execute test cases to enhance silicon test coverage, build and execute industry standard HPC benchmarks and applications on the emulator. You will work alongside our team of innovative engineers to support the deployment of AMD's Instinct ML products targeting Supercomputers and Data Center workloads.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Department
Product Engineering is responsible for post-design planning and once silicon arrives, driving customer samples execution and high volume manufacturing readiness. Typical areas of activity are testing, quality, reliability, yield analysis and production support. Product Engineering Organization works horizontally across several functional organizations and is key to driving production manufacturing with time, budget and cost constraints. PEO is a fast paced multi-tasking environment.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to contribute significantly to the Product Engineering deliverables as part of the overall product development flow. Contributions will span many areas the key of which are semiconductor test development, post-silicon debug, test program development, statistical analysis, semiconductor performance analysis and data interpretation. About the Department
PE (Product Engineering) is responsible for post-design planning and new product qualification. THE ROLE:
Come join the team responsible for driving AMD's Shift-Left strategies, planning and execution of our Client Compute Products, which are used by major OEM and compute solution customers in the world. In this role, you get to interact with multiple stakeholders (firmware/BIOS, SW, IP, DV, system architects) to plan, create, execute, and debug system use cases on emulation/FPGA platforms, in addition to advancing pre-silicon infrastructure to expand validation capabilities.
THE PERSON:
AMD is seeking an emulation system engineer who thrives in an environment that requires creative debugging skills, drive to improve pre-silicon system validation coverage capabilities, and a passion for improving our overall Shift-Left strategies and goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the design and development of test environment components to support the pre-silicon validation of embedded firmware, BIOS code features, SW and directed tests.
Responsible for writing directed tests to verify features in a co-simulated and emulated/FPGA hardware environment.
Responsible for writing monitors and checkers to support end-to-end firmware/hardware validation.
Responsible for writing and developing coverage goals and test plans.
Responsible for running emulator workloads to test new features.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with FPGA and/or emulation platforms (Veloce, Palladium, ZEBU, HAPs, Protium)
Experience developing System Verilog based test content.
Experience developing C++, Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell and TCL test content.
Experience validating hardware features for at least 3 or more projects in a pre-silicon environment.
Experience debugging failures using waveform viewers, log files and microcode trace dumps.
Experience debugging software using debuggers and trace files.
Knowledge of UEFI, core-boot, Chrome, Windows Operating Systems
Knowledge of low power and secure boot features
Knowledge of x86 and/or ARM SoC Architecture
Knowledge of one or more protocols; SPI, DDR, SATA, USB, AXI, PCI, PCIe, MIPI, WLAN or I2C

The intern will support the Bench Validation/Characterization of the Power Management Devices for SSD application at diverse level of maturity products. Providing the technical support for the development, implementation, and integration of our device into our customers' application.
