Many projects provide the opportunity for learning semiconductor wafer fab and assembly processing while interfacing with design engineering, product engineering, test engineering and quality engineering groups. Selected candidates will be assigned to one of several important, but different roles:
+ **Fab Quality Assurance Engineer** - conduct frequent analysis of fab process control data, review, release and assist in the troubleshooting of fab processes; participate and assist in managing local audit programs; verify conformance of manufactured IC devices and process materials to relevant TI and customer specifications.
+ **Failure Analysis Engineer** - perform failure analysis on products to determine the root cause of failure; work in cross-functional teams to resolve analysis issues; provide progress reports of analysis as well as a final written report of analysis and findings; and meet cycle time and success rate metrics established for customer satisfaction and quality team success.
+ **Customer Quality Engineer** - manage customer returns and use TI tools to provide frequent status updates to affected customers; work effectively with test, design, product and planning engineers, regional quality engineers, regional planners, regional technical sales representatives and marketing representatives to solve customer challenges and provide answers.

* Focus on the electrical design, modeling, simulation and characterization of high-speed signal propagation in AMD products.
* Build system level channel simulations to ensure packages and PCBs are well designed and meet required SI/PI specifications.
* Extract models for packages, PCBs, and sockets from vendors, collecting standardized models if available, and running through simulation.
Who We Are Looking For
* Currently enrolled in a US based University in a PhD degree program majoring in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

JOB SUMMARY
The intern will support the Bench Validation/Characterization of the Power Management Devices for SSD application at diverse level of maturity products. Providing the technical support for the development, implementation, and integration of our device into our customers' application. Assist with customer Failure Analysis and support design team in identifying root cause for potential problems in a duplicated customer environment. Help the evaluation team to design the validation environment (boards, GUI, code).

You will support broad technology pathfinding needs that may include AI research, use case analyses, technology demonstrations, tool exploration, performance benchmarking and knowledge sharing presentations. **Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:**

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Current PhD or Master's student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data Science (AI) with the relevant experience below.
+ Must not graduate before September 2026.
+ Experience implementing AI workflows using AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
+ Deep technical understanding of ML and AI algorithms, neural networks and models.
+ Experience and understanding of AI denoising techniques such as CNNs, GANs and VAEs
+ Knowledge of how compute system architecture and memory scaling impact AI and ML workflows and models
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Understanding and experience in neural network quantization and LoRA fine-tuning techniques
+ Background in statistics and data science with experience in appropriate tools (e.g. Python, Jupyter)
+ Understanding process variation, disturbances, wear-out and other error sources in semiconductor memories, and how it influences error detection & correction requirements
+ Experience with application performance benchmarking on heterogeneous (CPU + GPU) systems
+ Experience programming GPUs (CUDA, OpenCL, SYCL, etc.)
+ Python and C++ programming experience in a Linux environment
+ Familiarity with compute scaling, parallel computing and shared memory technologies (CXL, NvLink, UALink, OpenMP, MPI, etc.) is desired
+ Willingness to work on a varying mix of research- and demonstration-focused assignments depending on the changing needs of a pathfinding organization

**Minimum Requirements:**
