This Operating Room Manager role oversees 60 FTEs across 14 operating rooms providing comprehensive surgical services including heart and vascular, brain and spine, trauma, cancer care, orthopedics, and women's services with luxury maternity suites. The position reports to the Director of Surgery with responsibility for professional nursing care delivery, staff development, and fiscal management. Responsibilities Assure delivery of professional nursing care within operating room by assessing, planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating care for all surgical patients. Oversee 60 FTEs across 14 operating rooms ensuring appropriate staffing, competency validation, and clinical excellence in perioperative nursing. Collaborate with OR Educator in education and training of department staff during implementation phases and ongoing basis. Develop staff through department-specific needs assessment, goals and objectives, implementation methods, and evaluation measures. Develop, maintain, and interpret policies and procedures while maintaining fiscal responsibility for departmental operations. Implement professional nursing care standards for all surgical patients in accordance with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements. Act as liaison between OR staff and administration, medical staff, and other hospital departments to ensure seamless operations. Conduct performance appraisals in collaboration with clinical unit leadership to support staff development and accountability. Participate in facility management team meetings to align surgical services with organizational objectives. Work collaboratively with director, administration, finance department, and unit leadership in operating and capital budget processes. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory standards for surgical services. Manage resource allocation including supply utilization, equipment maintenance, and inventory control. Foster culture of safety, teamwork, and clinical excellence across perioperative services. Support quality improvement initiatives to optimize surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
