The Custodian III performs highly complex (senior level) custodial work. Responsibilities include performing, coordinating, cleaning, and sanitizing state supported living center buildings and resident homes; providing housekeeping services in a residential setting, which also involves conducting inspections of the buildings and equipment. The Custodian III orders and restocks supplies and equipment and provides backup to other custodians as needed. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. May serve in an on-call status on a rotating schedule as required to meet operational needs of the facility.
Maintains cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, and maintains records of the supplies used, and building property maintenance tools/equipment. Ensures proper usage and maintenance, and if necessary, minor repairs on buildings and equipment (i.e., buffers, waxing machines, biohazard disposal units, vacuums, etc.). Ensures custodial supplies are restocked.
Coordinates and performs the cleaning, dusting, and disinfecting restrooms, all office surfaces/furniture, programming areas, residents' homes, and bedrooms, and other SSLC areas, utilizing cleaning chemicals as needed; and ensures all waste/trash is collected and disposed of regularly.
Ensures all resident homes/units meet or exceed the minimum standard guidelines for cleanliness, health and safety, and infection control. Inspects the buildings and identifies any problem areas in need of follow up, and ensures follow-up occurs.
Assists the Custodian Manager in implementing the overall safety and infection control program. Oversees the work of Custodians I and II staff as needed and assists the Custodial Manager in providing training and coaching to these staff.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

ICF/IID QIDP Surveyor - Starting Market Rate Salary $60,431.88
As part of a collaborative team of public servants, a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) surveyor protects residents' health and safety by conducting on-site inspections and investigations, including investigations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, in Texas intermediate care facilities to assess their compliance with state and federal laws and rules. This position offers a competitive starting salary; excellent state benefits, including health insurance and retirement; and the opportunity to regularly travel to different facilities within a region and across the state - Please see the Additional Information section below for more detail on travel. In this front-line field position, a QIDP surveyor is mobile and flexible and performs minimal work at an office, though the role does require writing reports detailing any deficiencies/violations against a facility, remedies to correct those deficiencies, and narrative to support regulatory determinations. Provider Investigations Manager - Starting Market Rate Salary $89,692.85
A Provider Investigations Manager oversees a unit of investigators responsible for investigating abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults and children in State Hospitals, Managed Care, and Community Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) services. Investigations conducted by the unit are completed in accordance with Texas Administrative Code and Provider Investigations Policy. The unit may include an administrative assistant who is accountable for supporting the unit(s). The inspector conducts on-site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys to include the investigation of abuse, neglect, and exploitation at Long-Term Care (LTC) providers to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations. The inspector conducts exit conferences at the end of an inspection with facility staff regarding preliminary findings of the inspection. (25%)
The inspector completes written reports for each inspection or survey to detail deficiencies and provide narratives to support regulatory findings. The inspector summarizes facts obtained during an investigating whether abuse, neglect, or exploitation occurred. The inspector is responsible for ensuring the documentation is clear and concise; ensures course corrections implemented by the providers are appropriate to address the risk or noncompliance with regulations identified during inspections and investigations. If the inspector determines abuse, neglect, or exploitation did occur the inspector will make a referral to HHSC's Employee Misconduct Registry of the alleged perpetrator. (25%)
The inspector establishes priorities in gathering evidence to determine what methods to use in securing evidence such as going through the interview process or reviewing records to determine compliance or noncompliance.
