Position Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for managing the financial actions of the firm. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute the firm's financial strategy.
Lead long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the firm's strategic plan.
Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities.
Financial Management:
Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Operational Efficiency:
Optimize the firm's financial performance and strategic position.
Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Managing Partner and Executive Committee and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
Risk Management:
Identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements.
Oversee the firm's risk management and compliance framework, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Relationship Management:
Maintain relationships with external auditors and banks.
Act as the point of contact for financial issues with clients, vendors, and external parties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
Strong knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and mentor a team.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
