Achievement Center - Easterseals company history timeline

1961

Meridell Achievement Center opens daycare & residential program for boys & girls aged 5 to 17, on 5 acres in Jollyville, admitting first child on August 1, 1961.

1967

By 1967, the Easter "seal" was so well recognized, the organization formally adopted the name "Easter Seals."

1988

The agency changed its name from the “Society for Children of Cuyahoga County, Inc.” to the “Achievement Centers for Children” in 1988.

1994

In 1994, Patricia Nobili joined the agency as Executive Director and the first agency Strategic Plan was developed.

1995

Sally Farwell was promoted to President and CEO. Sally has been an inspiring leader at the Achievement Centers since 1995.

1999

By 1999, the agency grew to serving approximately 1,000 children, young adults and their families annually.

2007

Our west side services relocated to Westlake in 2007 providing four times more space for growth.

2012

On July 1, 2012, Easterseals Serving Greater Cincinnati was formed by the combination of Easterseals Work Resource Center and Jewish Vocational Service.

2018

In 2018, our friends at Comcast NBCUniversal delivered more than $4 million in airtime value through airing of Easterseals PSAs on their stations nationwide.

2019

Our last winner was Brad Jenkins from Green Bay , who won a Samsung KU6179 Ultra HD TV on 14.05.2019 with his 5-billionth Search.
