The Advance Group is currently seeking a temporary 2nd shift Machine Operator for a plastics facility located in Waterville, OH (14 miles from Toledo, 8 miles from Maumee, 20 miles from Oregon). The ideal candidate will possess previous manufacturing experience including ability to read tape measure.
Compensation for the Machine Operator candidate:
$19/hr

Hours for the Machine Operator candidate:
Hours are Monday-Friday 2:45pm-11:15pm, overtime on Saturday as needed.
Orientation on first day from 7am-3pm
Requirements of the Machine Operator candidate:
Prefer previous experience with construction, labor, or manual machine operating
Extensive manufacturing experience required
Must be mechanically inclined and able to read a tape measure
Ability to multi-task, perform physical work while also operating machines
Experience using a variety of hand tools and power tools
Attention to detail
Ability to learn
Must be comfortable reading a ruler, doing math, and reducing fractions
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the entire shift

SUMMARY
The Packout Operator is responsible for post-extrusion processing, packaging of material and miscellaneous off-line job requests. Other duties include but are not limited to: scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, bagging, boxing, stretch wrapping, and labeling product. The Packout Operator is also responsible for inspecting product and documenting/communicating when there is contamination, damages, or discrepancies. The Packout Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the fork lift, and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by site management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Packaging Responsibilities
* Packout functions include but are not limited to: Following direction of Management, Shift Supervisor, or Extruder Operator, when applicable, operating area bag or box line machinery and all associated equipment, maintain and complete required paperwork for proper product identification and traceability, make label, and handle rework boxes, use a forklift to move inventory to proper warehouse locations, labeling and disposition of partial and non-standard boxes, follow production schedule and assigned duties to ensure that activities are performed effectively and production needs are met, set up packaging supplies (build boxes, retrieve pallets, stage bags, build lids, install liners, etc.).
Quality Control Responsibilities
* The quality control functions include but are not limited to: using the appropriate documentation to ensure all products and/or orders are received and/or shipped correctly, verifying product meets quality standard, including reporting any damages, contamination, or discrepancies, ensuring product is stacked, packaged, stretch wrapped, and labeled properly.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
* Responsible for executing all safety protocols. Associates are responsible for accomplishing all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
* Responsible for cleanliness of designated work area. Associates are expected to maintain a clean, neat orderly work area.
* Associates are expected to comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS/DOT standards and regulations.
* Associates are expected to participate in safety audits as required and will comply with safety procedures, practices, and policies.
For this position, the expected base pay $37,128 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Utility Machine Operator is responsible for operating various production machinery as assigned by the Supervisor and according to the daily production schedule. Safely operates corrugated converting equipment including the Window Film, Flatbed Die Cutter and Curtain Coater machine ensuring high-quality corrugated packaging and products are produced at a consistent rate of speed within established machine standards, production goals, and customer specifications.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely start up, set up, operate and perform necessary machine adjustments in a consistent manner while adhering to required safety, quality, and production operating procedures
Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; uses situational awareness and actively looks for weak signals to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions; consistently wears appropriate PPE for the task at hand and within the assigned area; immediately notifies Supervisor of any unsafe condition that exists
Actively performs all SCT Quality procedures including required quality checks and obtaining required approvals; works with machine crew to continuously monitor production to ensure quality standards are consistent and meet customer specifications
Continuously monitors machine operation to detect any malfunctions and identifies defects or deviations from quality standards; performs machine adjustments and troubleshooting to correct defects
Records defects or non-conforming items appropriately and notifies Supervisor or Quality Manager; ensures that finished products with defects are properly scrapped and discarded while consistently following procedures to minimize waste
Performs routine cleaning and preventative maintenance as scheduled on machine, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts
Troubleshoots issues or malfunctions with machinery and performs minor repairs when possible.

Safely feed corrugated sheets into feeder section of window machine to ensure a straight and smooth flow of product
Utilizing attachments, perform machine adjustments when necessary to achieve proper windowing; adjust stacking section to ensure blanks are stacking uniformly
Print job sheets, load and WIP tags; perform routine cleaning and maintenance including cleaning belts, drums and replacing film
Flatbed Die Cutter:
Safely start up and set up flatbed die cutter, pile turner and conveyor system
Inspect each die and properly plug dies into machine; set up turn table and ensure accurate alignment to the sheet size
Safely position corrugated sheets into the feed section; turn table and flips sheets ensuring removal of any defective or non-conforming material
Curtain Coater Machine
Measure dimensions of corrugated sheets and ensure sufficient wax supply in coating container
Safely operate wax coater pump and properly feed sheets into the curtain coater
Accurately record job details, job number and paper weight before and after waxing; perform periodic quality checks of wax using oil drop tests
Review job ticket instructions prior to each run; ensure all necessary items and information is provided to produce job per customer specifications; verify raw materials are correct and accurately match the job ticket description
Operators may cross trains in other areas or on other machines as needed and perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
AUTHORITY: Must have the ability to lead a crew that has been placed with them to execute the demands of the operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from the supervisor and written instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Position Overview:
Responsible for machine operation and crew safety
Troubleshoot & repair most mechanical breakdowns & adjustments.
Adhere to safety rules and lockouts
Read and understand work orders & blue lines.
Complete daily production report
Make sure all guards are in place.
Keep machine area and aisles clean.
Able to run and change over machine.
Increase daily rate of production while keeping down waste.
Set up & gauge printers as necessary.
Train potential operators
Requirements:

Able to lift and handle boxes up to 50 pounds

Machine Operator
We are hiring for multiple Machine Operators to join our team. As a Machine Operator you will play a vital role in our manufacturing process. You will be responsible for setting up and operating machines, monitoring their performance, and performing routine maintenance tasks. In addition, you will be required to inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make adjustments as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate plastic molding machines according to established procedures.
Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines to ensure optimal performance.
Inspect finished products for quality and make adjustments as necessary.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during production.
Maintain inventory of raw materials and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
High School diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience operating plastic molding machines preferred.
Strong understanding of plastic manufacturing processes and equipment.
Mechanical training/aptitude and technical training on packaging, plastics and printing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
