The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, technology development, warfighter capability enablers, systems integration, defense industrial base, and threat reduction to help shape existing and future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including the U.S. Space Force, U.S. Space Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of technical support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers' portfolios as well as horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. Additionally, DSG provides deep technical expertise to the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception, design, acquisition, launch and operations of satellite, launch vehicle, ground control, and range systems.
We are seeking a driven and confident Executive Administrative Partner, who provides strategic administrative support to the Senior Vice President of DSG, as well as the Vice President of Defense Strategic Space (DSS) that contributes to implementing the goals of the organization. As an integral member of the organization's management team and focal point for the group, the individual provides collaborative administrative leadership to ensure effective and efficient group operations. They are proactive and take initiative to solve problems independently with autonomy to positively impact the productivity and efficiency of the organization and its leader(s). This person contributes to key business-related decisions, takes ownership of processes and procedures, and works closely with leaders, colleagues and customers across the enterprise to ensure the organization runs smoothly and meets internal/external deadlines.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Crystal City, VA.
What you'll be doing
* The SVP DSG is responsible for all Aerospace Federally Funded Research and Development Center support to the Department of Defense, and the VP DSS supports Pentagon-based organizations. This role is a dynamic partnership where you will be contributing to implementing the strategy and goals of the organization.
* Act as a partner, representative, and point of contact for executive with frequent interaction with Board of Trustees, corporate management, various levels of internal management, as well as government customers, contractors, and other high-level officials
* Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and information for the executive(s) to facilitate efficient decision making
* Leads special projects, tracks and drives completion of actions items and deliverables
* Manages group, corporate, and customer reports/deliverables/org charts (compile/edit/publish)
* Drafts and prepares various correspondence, emails, letters, presentations on behalf of executive(s)
* Provides input and feedback into executive/corporate activities and decisions, with follow-up communications and coordination
* Develops and improves effective processes/systems across the enterprise that provide superior organization, efficiency and industry-lead technical best practices
* Executes strategic, proactive, and complex calendar/meeting/event planning, management and conflict resolution
* Arranges complex travel coordination, logistics, and expense reporting for leadership
* Manages the coordination of employee support for the group/division/sub-division (on-boarding, timesheet administration/auditing, training requirements, supply/equipment orders)
* Collaborates with admins within the group, division, subdivision, and across the corporation to achieve coverage and increase efficiency and consistency
* Leads by training and mentoring division admins and is a role model by demonstrating professionalism, team collaboration, technical expertise, and leadership behavior that is consistent with the company's values

Minimum Requirements:
* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

The Pentagon-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Computing Capabilities Advisor to the Department of the Air Force (DAF)- (Project Engineer/ Senior Project Engineer - Systems Engineering - Acquisition and Systems Engineering) will support The Aerospace Corporation's role as a trusted agent and objective technical advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ). This position provides independent technical analysis and systems engineering insight to inform space acquisition, integration, and enterprise decision-making involving AI-enabled and cloud-based solutions.
You will provide on-site technical support to DAF AI initiatives and will serve in a multi-role capacity across SAF/SQ and HQ Space Force/S6 equities and interests. The role emphasizes space systems-of-systems engineering, architecture integration, and technical risk reduction across the space enterprise rather than program execution or system development.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site, nominally based at The Pentagon and our Crystal City, VA Aerospace location.
What You'll Be Doing
* Provide objective, non-advocacy technical advice to the DAF on the application of AI and cloud-computing solutions across space systems, architectures, and acquisition portfolios.
* Assess technology readiness, implementation risk, and integration challenges for AI, machine learning, autonomy, and cyber technologies in space acquisition programs
* Support enterprise capability development and integration, including mission thread analysis and cross-program integration studies and activities
* Advise on acquisition and integration strategies
* Develop technical roadmaps, trade studies, and decision-quality products to support senior SAF/SQ, Space Force, and OSW stakeholders
* Coordinate with Aerospace technical experts, SSC, AFRL, USSF, and other FFRDC partners to ensure coherent, end-to-end technical insight
* Prepare and deliver clear, concise briefings and written assessments translating complex technical analysis into actionable recommendations
* Deliver results on time-sensitive staff inquiries and provide technical support in the development of position papers and official responses to Congress, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the Intelligence Community (IC)

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,800.00 - $219,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. * Prepare survivability analyses for space environments such as micrometeoroids, atomic oxygen, solar energetic particles, and single event effects
* Review plans and procedures for component and box-level Flash X-ray testing
* Calculate radiation environment estimations using DTRA M&S tools (ASSIST, QPROMPT, DGBETS, GSCENARIO, PRPSIM, FAB4DA, EMREP, GAP-RF), testable hardware toolkit (THTk), FASTRAD, MCNP, SPENVIS, CREME96, GEANT4, Ansys Charge Plus, SIRE2, Warren and other radiation analysis tools
* Participate at program PDRs, CDRs, and other reviews as required in reviewing radiation requirements and compliance
* Engage with industry to review survivability/ radiation plans and implement best practices
What You Need to be Successful - Engineering Specialist
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree in physics, nuclear engineering, or other related degree
* Six or more years of applicable professional industry experience required
* Proficient programming with scientific computing languages like Matlab, Mathematica, IDL, Python, or C++.
* Experience evaluating electronic components for space flight units or related experience
* Capability in electron/ proton/ x-ray transport analysis or related experience
* Demonstrated understanding of prompt dose effects
* Track record reviewing NH&S analyses and ensuring NH&S requirements are met
* Proven abilities leading radiation testing campaigns at the part, board, and box level
* Exposure to applicable government standards (MIL-STD-3053, MIL-STD-3054, MIL-STD-3065, MDA-STD-001, SSC-S-014, SSC-S-016, MIL-STD-2169D)
* Familiarity with COTS state of the art electronics and/or current radiation test facilities
* This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

**What You'll Get to Do:**
+ Define systems and demonstrations that combine technologies created by other MDA efforts into products that solve critical customer mission needs.
+ Drive the development and integration plan leading to the successful demonstration of cutting-edge capabilities.
+ Develop system level roadmaps capturing the advancement of MDA and other relevant technologies.
+ Work with the customer, partner, and supplier communities to develop the system conceptual systems leading to major program milestones / reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR).
+ Capture customer needs translating them into System-Level requirements and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
+ Support functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.

**Basic Qualifications for Staff Engineer Systems FW Architect:**
+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 12 years of related experience, or 10 years with a MS Degree, or 8 years with a PhD.
+ Experience with software programming languages including C, C++, and Python.
+ Experience developing in a Linux and/or Windows environment.
+ Experience with interaction between hardware and software for different types of standard hardware blocks, CPU and accelerators.
+ Experience with embedded systems debugging and system analysis tools (e.g. JTAG emulators, remote GDB servers, USB or benchtop logic analyzers).
+ Familiarity with common source control tools (Git, Subversion, etc.).

+ Experience with creating design artifacts (e.g. UML) and design patterns.
+ Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket and Gitlab.
Primary Level Salary Range: $155,400.00 - $256,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
