JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
As AES strives to become the customer first, digital focused, clean energy provider of the future, the success of our customer experience platforms, applications, and programs become critical to our strategic success. The successful business process & solutions analyst will play a pivotal role in owning the Customer Service Management (CSM) processes for AES Ohio or AES Indiana and leading the execution and deployment of customer system changes by partnering directly with our local and global digital teams, business stakeholders, and strategic partners to ensure our vision is translated to customer outcomes.
POSITION SCOPE:
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with business stakeholders and subject matter experts from meter-to-cash operations as a business process and solutions analyst for CSM within the AES Ohio or AES Indiana Customer Systems team. The Customer Systems team is responsible for implementing strategic and regulatory initiatives in coordination with the digital product owners, collaborating with leadership and other stakeholders to develop the business' prioritization roadmap for utility transformation initiatives, managing and seeking improvements to business processes across all key functional areas, and engaging the business to ensure adoption or awareness of changes. You will have an important role by acting as a liaison between business end users and the digital support team in defining the business requirements and specifications of the SAP solution through functional design and end-to-end testing. You will be responsible for ensuring production support incidents and change requests are triaged and prioritized appropriately, delivered on time and tested effectively to ensure all business requirements have been met before deployment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Identify, define, and manage high-level business requirements for system changes, detailed system change specifications, business process designs and procedures
* Maintain focus on business outcomes and define the business solutions and structures needed to realize these opportunities
* Analyze laws, regulations, tariffs and changing business strategies to find practical solutions to functional Customer Information System (CIS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system designs and integrations, focusing on aligning processes across US utilities and using industry standard configuration
* Serve as the primary contact to the business community to ensure that its needs are fully understood
* Assist with the design of SAP or other product configurations and customizations
* Use the business process requirements to drive out application requirements and metrics
* Validate the design with all stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies business requirements
* Identify operational impacts of system or process changes, update process flows and prepare communications
* Collaborate with other business process & solutions analysts and digital product owners to ensure delivery of a complete end-to-end solution
* Provide daily support for business operations including first line of triage for end user issues, service desk incident prioritization and change request backlog maintenance
* Perform user acceptance testing for incident resolutions and deployment of change requests
* Troubleshoot system problems, identify operational impacts of problems, and recommend risk-adverse and cost-effective solutions
* Assist in developing training to educate trainers and end users on performing CIS transactions
* Ensure system processes are compliant with laws, regulations, and tariffs
* Gather requirements for ad hoc and recurring reports
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or other related field or significant CIS or CRM experience required
* Must have strong computer skills including using Microsoft suite

The Short-Term Trader/Dispatcher I is in charge of the strategic management of AES generation assets in the Day-Ahead and Real-Time energy markets within various Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs)/Independent System Operators (ISOs).
This is a role within AES Clean Energy Market Operations and is a 24X7 operation. Employees will work abnormal schedules which include nights, weekends, and holidays. Personal flexibility to adjust schedules as needed is fundamental.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Handling the Day-Ahead and Real-Time operations of the AES Clean Energy Portfolio.
Dispatching generation based upon economic conditions and operational constraints.
Developing load and wind generation forecasts.
Scheduling the Day-Ahead bidding of power into the respective RTO/ISO market.
Monitoring and analyzing market information to identify dispatching and trading opportunities to increase profitability.
Monitoring weather forecasts within various RTO/ISO markets.
Running dispatch and trade decisions with a continuous focus on balancing risk versus return to produce maximum profitability.
Coordinating unit availability, outage schedules, unit start-up and shutdown times, and communicating all vital information to commercial operations, plant personnel and the respective RTO/ISO.

Education/Experience
Short-Term Trader/Dispatcher I:

PJM Generation Certification preferred. If not certified, must have ability to become certified within six months.

We are looking for a Distribution Operator!
AES Ohio serves approximately 500,000 customers across a 6,000 square-mile service area in Southwest-Central Ohio. This includes 14,800 miles of distribution lines and over 150 substations.
Under limited direction, the Distribution Operator controls and operates the company's distribution resources-including circuit breakers, switches, voltage regulating equipment, and other devices associated with the system. The role ensures compliance with PUCO regulations and AES safety and operating standards, while coordinating and directing all switching operations on the mainline distribution system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implements real-time actions, up to and including shedding firm load under direction of the transmission System Operator
Directs all actions for safety and reliability of the distribution electric grid, including field crews, electrical equipment, and customers in matters that affect distribution grid reliability
Directs all switching and tagging activities to achieve LOTO isolation on mainline distribution equipment for both scheduled and outage situations
Responds to distribution disturbances within established regulatory, industry, and company standards to assure a continuous supply of electricity to customers
On point to communicate to co-workers and management the status of abnormal system conditions
Monitors and utilizes reactive reserves to ensure system reliability
Mentor Distribution Operator Trainees thru the Operator training game plan
Annually review and update department Standard Operating Procedures
Utilize the system model to simulate removing distribution elements from service and review resulting contingency analysis to prevent any real time violations which may occur
Responsible for being knowledgeable of the procedures to transfer operations to the Back-up Control Center and implementing if necessary
Assist with outage scheduling - writing switch orders, coordinating resources, customer and, running load flow studies to evaluate outages and contingencies, planning projects and looking for conflicting outages, develop mitigation strategies for reliability concerns
Assist with developing and maintaining department tools - support model updates, state estimator and contingency analysis troubleshooting, monitor and resolve solution cost or high iteration alarms, solve bad data problems, PI situational awareness displays, work with EMS staff on ADMS updates and model pushes
Develops and maintains knowledge of the Company's substation, distribution and transmission systems, relay protection schemes, safety requirements, electrical theory, field equipment capabilities and associated operating procedures and guidelines

* Loads and unloads tools, materials and supplies into and out of vehicles at crew headquarters and job site.
* Lifts, pulls and carries insulators, cross-arms, equipment, tools, grounds, dampers, and other materials to and from job sites.

As Co-op or intern you will:
Support engineers on a variety of electric infrastructure projects designing future state distribution and transmission power system
Develop unique solutions to gather, store, and utilize electrical asset data implemented and collected in the field to improve data driven decision making. Create and maintain electrical models using power flow software such as PSSE and CYME.

AES Ohio serves approximately 500,000 customers in a 6,000 square-mile service area in Southwest-Central Ohio. This includes 1,800 miles of transmission lines and over 150 substations. Under limited direction, the System Operator controls and operates the Company's transmission, substation and mainline distribution resources and monitors generation resources from a reliability perspective. Also achieves and maintains operating standards in compliance with all existing NERC, PJM and PUCO regulations, plus company safety and operating standards. Operates the transmission system, which includes responsibility for VAR flow, maintaining acceptable voltage levels, and monitoring for first contingency loading and voltage violations. Coordinates and directs all switching operations on the transmission, substation and mainline distribution system. This is a rotating shift work position that requires around the clock coverage. The current 12 hour schedule does will include some nights, weekends and holidays. Under direct supervision, the System Operator is responsible for the safe, stable, reliable, economical, and environmentally correct operation of the Bulk Electric System. This responsibility extends from the generating station substations through the distribution substations to the first interrupting device. The System Operator Trainee is responsible for successfully completing the System Operator Training Program and complying with FERC, NERC, PJM, and RF requirements.Key Responsibilities:
Promote a safe working environment both inside and outside the department.

Implement real-time actions, up to and including shedding firm load, to ensure stable and reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System.

Direct all switching and tagging activities to achieve LOTO isolation on transmission, substation, and mainline distribution equipment for both scheduled and outage situations.

The Outage Management System (OMS) Platform Manager is responsible for the ongoing ownership, operation, and optimization of the company's Outage Management System (OMS), a third-party enterprise platform used to support critical utility operations. This role ensures the OMS remains stable, available, compliant, and aligned with evolving business and operational requirements. The position focuses on system operations, vendor coordination, lifecycle management, and stakeholder engagement-not software development or product management.
System Management and Operations
Own the day-to-day operation and support of the production Outage Management System to ensure reliability, performance, and 24x7 availability.
Serve as the primary system owner responsible for system health, configuration, availability, and operational readiness.
Partner with Digital, IT, and Operations teams to troubleshoot issues, manage incidents, and resolve system defects.
Proactively evaluate OMS performance and identify opportunities for configuration improvements, operational efficiencies, and process optimization.
Coordinate and oversee integrations between the OMS and other enterprise systems (SCADA, GIS, CIS, web platforms, cloud services, etc.), ensuring stable and accurate data flow.
Application Lifecycle and Release Management

Incident Management and Operational Readiness
Ensure the OMS effectively supports outage detection, restoration, and customer communication during routine operations and major storm events.
Lead OMS operational support during critical incidents, including real-time system monitoring and coordination with internal teams and vendors.
Oversee post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Ensure accurate reporting and dashboards are available to track outage performance, system availability, and operational KPIs.
Team Leadership
Lead and manage a team of application support professionals responsible for OMS operations and support.

The Reliability & Performance Engineer is responsible for assessing electric distribution system performance and transforming reliability analysis results into actionable improvement plans. AES is seeking an experienced Project Manager that will, under limited supervision, oversee the execution of large projects ($2M to $50M), interpret contractual language/terms & conditions, and manage routine project management/contract administrative responsibilities. Responsible for scope, schedule and budget of a portfolio of transmission & distribution projects, including scope, schedule, budget and risk, as well as coordinate and consolidate material and contractual labor procurement.
Hours of work are typically on a regular schedule, Monday - Friday (in-person at the Service Building, Dayton, OH office), but may include weekends, holidays and irregular hours.
Job Responsibilities:
Works within the organization to successfully execute multi-year, multi-million dollar transmission & distribution construction projects. Drives projects through to completion, meeting scope, schedule, and budget.
Follows project management standards and protocols for successfully executing projects, including project schedules, cash flows, work breakdown structures/activities, stakeholder management, and risk identification/mitigation.
Coordinates activities across internal and external stakeholders, including system planning, engineering, supply chain, environmental, operations and others as required. Ensures project activities and key project milestones are on time and completed as scheduled. Works to resolve conflicts and mitigate risks.
Works with the engineering team and supply chain to develop specifications and scopes of work for all contracted activities, including labor, material, and equipment procurement. Ensures any contracted work is completed per specifications and resulting contracts and purchase orders. Negotiates final scopes of work with the supply chain and minimizes any change orders.
Works with the Construction Management team to execute construction activities efficiently meeting project scope, schedule, and budget.
Manages the collection and tracking of all costs associated with the portfolio of projects. Responsible for reviewing incurred costs and commitments and forecasting inter-year and intra-year project costs. Provides monthly detailed cost breakdown for project meetings and PMO reporting.
Defines material requirements. Interfaces with Procurement to assist with procurement of materials/inventory for cost development and operational readiness. Analyzes labor, material, and equipment requirements across all projects and consults with the supply chain to identify efficiencies of spend.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting/Engineering Required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience Desired:
3-5 years of project management and construction management of multi-million dollar projects. Experience with electric utility projects preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. PMP is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize tasks in a continually changing environment.
Basic understanding of contracting approaches for engineering and construction activities. Ability to recognize and manage owner's risk related to the successful completion of a project.
Expert knowledge of purchasing policies and vendor selection criteria and processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP. Familiar with Oracle P6 and Copperleaf C55.
Demonstrated ability to improve continuously, understanding of basic CI methodology, and business process management. Always looking to make tomorrow better than today.

Substation Design Engineer
The ideal candidate will live in Dayton, Ohio, or be willing to relocate. We offer a competitive salary and generous starting paid time off of 22 days each year.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed design of all or parts of 12kV through 345kV substations consisting of physical layouts, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Produce detailed engineering design packages in accordance with AES Ohio and relevant industry standards (IEEE, NERC, etc.).
Prepare procurement specifications for material and services, evaluate proposals, and work with Purchasing to obtain purchase orders.
Provide engineering support to field crews on construction and maintenance activities.

Assist in after-hours storm restoration and long duration customer outages as required.
Qualifications

Experience with Bentley MicroStation or similar CAD software.
Passing grade on the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
Familiarity with and application of electrical substation equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, disconnect switches, relays, etc.)
Ability to work safely and integrate safety into engineering designs. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.)

Qualifications
Under close supervision, assists Electrical Test Technician II and III in performing limited tests required by the department. Under directive supervision, as he/she becomes qualified, will perform less complex test procedures involving connections to circuits carrying normal secondary voltages up to 250 volts.
Entry Level
* High School Diploma or the equivalent and have a two-year electrical or electronic degree, or have the equivalent education plus two years' experience in electrical or electronic work.
* Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License. CDL license is optional, and expenses will be reimbursed.
* Must demonstrate a working knowledge of basic electrical circuits by passing a written test or technical assessment.
* Must have a basic knowledge of computers, ability to learn Company specific software and electronic communications systems and devices.
* This position requires cyber or physical access to designated secured areas. Employees who career preference for this position must successfully pass a background check in order to be awarded the position.
Fully Qualified
A minimum of two (2) years' experience as an Electrical Test Technician I and has demonstrated the ability to perform the tasks of the job. Must have successfully completed the Company's Electrical Test Technician training program and continue to pass job-related skill verifications.

ELECTRICAL TEST TECHNICIAN LEVEL I
Performance Expectations upon Completion of Training and On the Job Experience:
In the first 6 months employees will be assigned to work with Protection & Control Specialists, Level III and Level II employees in a training and familiarization capacity. The intent is for entry level technicians to become familiar with the Company, people, locations, equipment, safety, terminology, and all other general knowledge.
* Must comply with all the Company's safety regulations and policies.
* Drive company vehicles to and from various equipment locations, substations and company facilities.
* Some of the working conditions include an enclosed space environment, outdoor worksites, storms, and night-time work.
* Become familiar with all basic electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, power supplies, etc. Must have the ability to analyze testing problems and the initiative and judgment to solve them.
* Under close supervision begin to learn the basic operation and become familiar with substation, distribution, and transmission equipment (control circuits, circuit breakers, transformers, Automatic Throwover Switches (ATO), generators, batteries, capacitor banks, regulators, Load tap Changers (LTC), cables, switches, etc...).
* Assisting Testers of higher grade, in making all kinds of tests required in the department; wiring and setting up test equipment; taking reading, making field notes, and operating equipment, as directed.
* Investigates trouble or faulty operation of lines and associated equipment, assisting and advising in correction same, if appropriate to do so.
* Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and adjustment of electrical and electronic equipment used for voltage regulation.
* Assisting in the preparation and completion of reports of tests performed in Company's stations, substations, or in the field.
* Work regularly exposes the employees to hazardous conditions.
* Performance of tasks involves maintenance of electric equipment and requires extreme attention to hazardous conditions.

* Become familiar with and learn to read various types of prints such as substation, index, SO, primary, secondary, etc...
* Set recording devices for tests of voltages, amperage, and wattage or other similar tests.
* Service recording devices and other test equipment and perform general inspection and lead repair.
* Prepare data for, and make corrections on, office drawings and records, as a result of test and inspections in the field. Use prints or sketches to build or repair equipment.
* Assist Test Technicians of higher grade, in making limited tests required in the department; wire and set up test equipment; take readings, make field notes, and operate equipment, as directed.
* Investigate trouble or faulty operation of voltage problems, capacitor banks, line regulators, and LTC controls on distribution banks at secondary voltage levels.
* Individuals must take care of company equipment and are required to take all proper precautions and care while performing work on customer's premises. Assist and advise other areas and customers in correcting technical problems.
* Responsible for inspection, maintenance, adjustment, and data manipulation of electrical and electronic equipment used for voltage regulation.
* Assist in the preparation and completion of reports for tests performed in power stations, substations or in the field.
* Maintain and update electronic databases, software and computer-based systems.
* Have a basic knowledge of Company standards and codes and other pertinent regulatory requirements as they relate to the Electrical Test Technician responsibilities
* Keep inspection notes and conditions on a personal handheld computer, download all pertinent information into a central database, and run reports in any abnormal situations.

Position Summary:
The Engineer I position is the entry level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer I position solve problems in engineering areas of specialization with close supervision. This position is part of the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Delivery Team focused on Advanced Applications. We bridge the gap between our software vendor and Power Grid Operations by testing the ADMS applications using engineering knowledge to: trouble shoot Distribution Power Flow (DPF), assure proper performance by thoroughly testing the software before installing in a Production environment , work with vendors to improve performance, review real world events and work with our Grid Management partners to prepare circuits for automated fault isolation and service restoration. Responsibilities
Ensuring the DMS Power Flow and Advanced Applications run correctly, and issues are addressed including data is updated/corrected as needed, initiating investigations into equipment problems, etc.
Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility.
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect the operations or results of the work group and may have some impact on major projects or department results.
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
Conducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; competent to design, operate and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems.
