This position is responsible for administration of policy, compliance, ethics, and Programmatic Agreements. The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) Office of Policy, Compliance, and Programmatic Agreements (PCPA), within the Office of the Controller and Business Services (OCBS), provides leadership for UC ANR policies, compliance obligations, and programmatic agreements, including memoranda of understanding (MOUs). The Director ensures UC ANR's statewide, regional, and county operations comply with University policy and state and federal law, while applying expert knowledge of University of California (UC) policies and regulatory requirements to guide contract terms, agreements, and governance decisions.
The Director is the division's central resource for all policy matters. The Director oversees policy development, compliance reviews, and programmatic updates. The role includes evaluating emerging laws and regulations, managing delegations of authority, overseeing conflict of interest reporting, and ensuring compliance with state information and transparency laws. The Director also leads UC ANR's records management and privacy programs to promote consistent and lawful information practices.
The Director acts as liaison with the Office of the General Counsel and UCOP administrative offices, advising senior leadership on legal, compliance, and procedural matters. The Director supports the UC ANR Controller, who serves as Campus Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO) and Locally Designated Official (LDO). The Director contributes to systemwide committees, task forces, and delivers compliance training for UC ANR staff as needed.

The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) invites applications for a Statewide Food Safety Coordinator for Community Food Systems, University of California Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education Program (UC SAREP), (Academic Coordinator II).
Location Headquarters: UC ANR, Davis, California
Purpose:
The Statewide Food Safety Coordinator for Community Food Systems will coordinate statewide outreach, education, technical assistance, and applied research activities to support the safe preservation, processing, packaging, consumption, handling, and storage of food products for food businesses, food hubs, and other post-harvest supply chain components across UC SAREP programs. This position will collaborate with the UC Master Food Preservers (MFP) to provide content expertise and statewide coordination to promote safe food processing methods, including value-added product development; recipe development; process control; hazard analysis; risk assessment; Cottage Foods Operations; and small-scale food processing equipment and methods. This includes statewide leadership for the development and implementation of a UC Master Food Preserver (MFP) public education program to provide training and technical support for cottage food operators throughout California. The Coordinator will also collaborate with UC SAREP's Food and Society programs to enhance processed food safety for value-added products from niche and emerging crops for California; small-scale food processing; food hub and aggregation facility food safety regulatory compliance; and sustainable supply chains for value-added products.
The Coordinator will provide content expertise in food preservation and processing methods, build strong partnerships with environmental health departments, and develop resources to assist small- to medium-scale food businesses with food safety best practices and regulatory compliance. This position will interface with food safety research activities conducted by UC campus and external partner institutions and coordinate project oversight and curriculum development for efforts to develop recipes, methods, and hazard control points for small-scale food processing. The Coordinator will collaborate with multiple UC ANR and UC SAREP programs, including the Small Farms Network and the Organic Agriculture Institute, to support innovation for processed food products and foster economic development and entrepreneurship for small- to medium- scale food businesses.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Extension Education and Outreach:
Coordinate statewide efforts to promote and support food safety for small-to medium-scale food businesses and food hubs. including outreach, extension education, and technical assistance.
Develop and disseminate statewide extension resources to support safe preservation, processing, packaging, consumption, handling, transportation, and storage of food products.
Develop and deliver educational programming in a variety of formats across UC SAREP programs for food business operators, nonprofit partners, and extension professionals reaching diverse audiences.
Provide leadership and content expertise for development of the UC Master Food Preserver Cottage Food Operations public education and volunteer certification program and regulatory compliance training.
Provide science-based information to small-scale food businesses, food hubs, and Cottage Foods operators through participation in relevant meetings, conferences, and working groups.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
Coordinate collaborations with UC ANR CE Advisors and Specialists and external academic institutions conducting research to enhance food safety for small-to medium-scale food businesses and food hubs.
Collaborate with UC SAREP and UC ANR statewide and county-based programs to support innovation and economic development efforts for processed food products, sustainable supply chains, and small business development and entrepreneurship.
Cultivate and maintain partnerships with environmental health departments, regulatory agencies, advocacy organizations, and local government entities to ensure alignment of UC SAREP programs with local, state, and federal food safety requirements.
Foster partnerships with cottage food operators, industry groups, and advocacy organizations to increase support and resources for food safety in small-scale food processing and aggregation operations.
May supervise staff on UC SAREP or grant-funded projects.
Statewide Leadership and Content Expertise:
Provide content expertise to UC SAREP programs on food safety topics relevant to a variety of crops, processed food products, supply chains, business models, and marketing strategies.
Provide statewide expertise to support small-to medium-scale food businesses and food hubs with regulatory compliance, including Cottage Foods Operation requirements for California and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventive Controls Rule.
Identify food safety research and extension needs for small-to medium-scale food businesses and contribute to UC SAREP's strategic planning efforts.
Provide input to the UC SAREP Associate Director of Sustainable Food Economies on program needs.
Contribute to co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, policy papers, and technical memoranda presenting food safety needs and challenges and best practices and extension methods to support small-to medium-scale food businesses and food hubs with food safety compliance.
Project and Grant Management:
Manage budgets of specified grants focused on food safety for small-to medium-scale food businesses and food hubs and coordinate use of funds among collaborators and partner organizations.
Prepare grant proposals to support food safety outreach, extension education, technical assistance, and applied research, both individually and collaboratively.
Prepare grant reports, program and project impact statements, blog posts, briefings, executive summaries, and posters and presentations to disseminate project results, challenges, impacts, and opportunities.
Collect and analyze program data to evaluate outcomes and impacts and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.
Counties of Responsibility: This position is focused on work across the State of California and will coordinate activities across multiple counties and regions.
Reporting Relationship: The Statewide Food Safety Education Program Coordinator serves under the administrative and programmatic guidance of the Associate Director for Sustainable Food Economics with additional input from the UC SAREP Director.

Education: A minimum of a master's degree in food science, food systems, public health, public policy, or a related field is required at the time of appointment.
Additional Requirements:
Background and experience in food science, food safety, or a similar field relevant to evidence-based food preservation and processing methods.

Salary: The salary will be in the Academic Coordinator II series from Step 1 - $84,246 to Step 10 - $128,101 annually. Major Duties
Under the general supervision of the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Directors, the Soraya Stage Technician works events and performances at The Soraya and Plaza Del Sol on an as-needed basis. The incumbent works to maintain the integrity, condition, and value of the facilities as a world-class performing arts center for the campus and the larger community.
Fulfills various tasks within the technical production department, including but not limited to - audio, electrics, carpentry, properties, and wardrobe.
Assists with load-in, rehearsal/performance, and load-out for a variety of events, including music, dance theater, guest speakers, and film screenings. Interacts with visiting production staff, licensee clients, and university events staff in the execution of events.
Works to maintain a safe work environment for staff and clients and assists in the maintenance of stage equipment and systems. Ensures a positive experience for all artists, faculty, students, staff, and community.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Equivalent to one to two years of experience working for a theater, repertory, or stock company with emphasis in one or more of the production areas of audio, electrics, carpentry, properties, and wardrobe or others.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of theatre etiquette, standards, and protocol. General knowledge of methods and techniques related to theatre facilities; principles and techniques of design and production; and safety requirements and standards related to the core production areas of audio, electrics, carpentry, and stage rigging.
Knowledge of technical theatre and operating theatre technical systems that include exposure to audio, lighting, deck setup, and fly rail operation.
Have good customer service and public relations skills, with the ability to work under pressure of deadlines and with a wide variety of personalities in the execution of events.

The Community Education Specialist 2 (CES 2) position will be located in the University of California Cooperative Extension Office and will act as a valuable team member of the 4-H Youth Development Program (4-H YDP). 4-H YDP is the largest youth-serving organization in the U.S. Our focus is to provide positive youth development to youth in our community through research-based best practices, community collaborations, and community engagement.
The CES 2 helps to coordinate and monitor the daily activities of the 4-H Youth Development Program (4-H YDP) in Colusa County. The CES is responsible for program expansion, outreach, and recruitment in consultation with the 4-H Regional Program Coordinator and Advisor; ensures compliance with 4-H policies and procedures; facilitates conflict management and assists with conflict resolution in accordance with UC ANR policy and practices and in alignment with 4-H policy and procedures; promotes positive youth development best practices; provides leadership and training for 4-H volunteers and community partners; processes all appropriate paperwork in compliance with UC ANR procedures, is familiar with curricula and research-based practices to prepare, implement, and train others in the delivery of educational activities in a variety of content areas such as but not limited to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math), College & Career/Workforce Readiness, Healthy Living, Civic Engagement & Leadership through a Positive Youth Development (PYD) lens; provides effective written and verbal communication to 4-H staff, volunteers, youth, and community partners; leads and supports program coordination to carry out different 4-H educational programs, events, and activities. The CES reports to the 4-H Regional Program Coordinator.

Program Liaison and Coordination:
Manage the 4-H youth development program (YDP), events and activities and ensure compliance with best practices of positive youth development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices, policy and procedure. Monitor program compliance in line with University and 4-H YD policies and procedures. Work with groups of volunteers, youth, and community partners and serve as their direct liaison.
Provide training and support to community club leaders, project leaders, other volunteers, youth, and community partners using approved materials and curriculum, including (but not limited to) specific curriculum, positive youth development (Thrive), online enrollment systems, and policy. Provide feedback to Regional Program Coordinator and Advisor on needs for advanced training.
Support interested groups in starting new 4-H programs, including chartering new clubs, reviewing and approving documents, and submitting all paperwork to the appropriate individuals.
Maintain up-to-date understanding of 4-H YD policies and relevant UC ANR policies and ensure timely communication of new or existing 4-H policies, procedures, and enrollment processes to new and returning 4-H youth, volunteers, parents, and community partners.
Collaborate with 4-H Volunteer Management Organizations and committees. Attend meetings as needed. Aim to ensure a cohesive, diverse volunteer management system.
Effectively resolve conflict. Provide oversight, review complaints, and follow 4-H Conflict Resolution Policy. Effectively and timely resolve conflict. Keep your RPC (Regional Program Coordinator) informed of all conflicts and complaints. Notify Regional Program Coordinator (RPC) if the complaint escalates and needs higher review. Ensure all needed UC ANR individuals are notified as needed. All 4-H professionals serve as mandated reporters under California Law.
Disseminate 4-H information via the 4-H website, collaborative tools, emails, social media, newsletters, blogs, etc.
Be a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion so that all youth may engage in the 4-H program.
Serve as a liaison and communication link to community organizations, including but not limited to local schools, youth-based community organizations, race/ethnic-based community organizations, education-aligned organizations, and local fairs. Represent the 4-H YDP in the county. Provide information about the 4-H YDP to the public.
Build knowledge and skills in the areas of intercultural development, youth development, youth leadership, development of life skills, and volunteerism. Develop knowledge and expertise in a variety of content areas such as but not limited to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math), College & Career/Workforce Readiness, Healthy Living, Civic Engagement & Leadership through a Positive Youth Development (PYD) lens.
Attend and participate in relevant professional development opportunities, virtual webinars, state/regional meetings and trainings, California 4-H State Association meetings and trainings, and monthly state 4-H meetings, including in-person conferences as funding allows.

Enrollment and Records:
Monitor, ensure accuracy, and approve youth and volunteer enrollments in compliance with 4-H state policy. Recruit, train, and support volunteer enrollment coordinators to assist in the enrollment process.
Screen new volunteer applications, and ensure volunteers follow and complete all volunteer enrollment steps, including DOJ/FBI fingerprinting and required annual trainings.
Serve as the key contact person, providing guidance, support, and processing official documents in line with the University and 4-H YD policies and procedures. Ensure 4-H Record Retention Guidelines are followed.

Program Expansion, Outreach, and Recruitment:
Promote and expand 4-H programs in schools and communities.
In consultation with the Regional Program Coordinator and Advisor, assist with developing an effective outreach program to increase 4-H program participation. Assist with developing strategic and outreach plans to expand the 4-H program to diverse communities. Assist in assessing what communities are unserved/underserved and develop community outreach and education plans to extend programs. Conducts community outreach and education to minority and underserved populations and delivers educational programs in Spanish and English in culturally relevant and responsive ways.
Assist 4-H community clubs with outreach efforts to ensure compliance with affirmative action requirements and to expand and diversify youth and adult volunteer club membership.
In consultation with the Regional Program Coordinator (RPC) and Advisor, assist with developing programs or content to reach new audiences and/or establish programs in underserved areas.

Facility Use Agreements and Policy Compliance Review:
Provide technical support and advice for 4-H event and program coordination. Monitor compliance of 4-H policy, including facility use agreement and risk management. Process facility use agreement and rental requests and ensure that established deadlines are followed.
Respond to policy inquiries from 4-H members, families and/or adult volunteers. Seek technical support from Regional Program Coordinator (RPC) and appropriate personnel at the statewide level.
Ensure 4-H members, families, volunteers, 4-H programs/units, and volunteer management organizations comply with University and 4-H policies and procedures. Provides education and support for volunteers, including but not limited to conflict management solutions, conflict resolution, and issuing disciplinary actions.

Fiscal Review and Compliance:
Ensure review and approval of 4-H unit budgets and fundraising approval forms are done by appropriate personnel.
Review 4-H unit/VMO monthly bank statements for compliance with 4-H policies. Follow- up and take corrective action for non-compliance. Email the 4-H unit leader and/or treasurer with the respective redacted bank statement(s).
Assist 4-H units and ensure end-of-the-year financial reporting requirements are met by the due date.

Maintain 4-H county social media, create flyers for recruiting youth membership, volunteers, and community partners and educational materials using Canva, Microsoft products, or other design software. Requirements:
A minimum associate degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training in personnel management, youth development, program management, volunteer management, training professionals, and conducting workshops.
Experience working with diverse communities in a respectful and responsive way that reflects a commitment to serving everyone.
Demonstrated success in teaching and working with a diverse youth, family, and/or volunteer audience and knowledge in delivering community educational programs.
Familiarity with community-based agencies and experience collaborating with multiple community organizations.
Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate departmental and organizational policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
Working knowledge of conducting needs assessment.
Good analytical skills to understand how program needs can be addressed through the development and delivery of training programs.
Good reading, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Good presentation skills.
Proficient in use of Windows-based computers with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
