    $3500 Sign-On Bonus for New Hires! $1500 Referral Bonus for Current Staff! The Shift Lead provides support to all direct support professionals (overnight awake/asleep, relief) and partners with the Residential Manager (RM) to ensure quality direct support services are provided. The Shift Lead additionally ensures the daily operations of programs meet Federal, State and agency compliance regulations. Position Schedule: Sunday 9am-5pm, Mon-Tues 3pm-11pm, Wed-Thur 1pm-9pm (40 hr/week) Pay: $21/hr without MAP certification, $22/hr with MAP certification Essential Functions: In the physical absence of the RM, serves as the senior staff member on-site, providing support and guidance to other direct support professionals Serves as the Acting Residential Manager during periods when the RM is on vacation, sick leave or other absences not greater than two weeks Implements Individual Support Plans (ISP) for individuals based on assessments, objectives, and goals Collaborates with the RM, case managers, and peers in the planning, management, and fulfillment of the agency's short/long term goals Provides administrative support to the RM, including case management for an identified caseload Provides direct service to individuals served Frequent driving of a motor vehicle and/or van required Must work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays Actively advocates for individuals served and demonstrates the agency mission and values in all interpersonal and professional relations Enhances and promotes The Arc of Opportunity's strategic initiatives, overall brand, and organizational mission and values through positive promotion and representation Qualifications: MAP Certification Associates degree in relevant field or some college coursework preferred, High School Diploma or GED required A minimum of one year experience in a human service field, some human service supervisory or senior staff experience preferred A valid driver's license and acceptable CORI/Fingerprint checks & driving record are required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity Use of personal vehicles is required & must meet all State requirements to include a valid registration, insurance, & safety standards Ability and willingness to provide hand over hand assistance in personal care functions, including shower and hygiene assistance Mathematical aptitude to reconcile monetary accounts for individual served Flexible work scheduled required with on-call responsibilities as needed Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; kneel, bend and carry items; and sustain periods of walking, standing, sitting Ability to physically assist individuals according to their needs and perform physical restraint if necessary Mental Requirements: Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy, complete administrative tasks, problem solve, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, & crisis manage Communication skills, in written and oral English, which convey clear and concise information in a professional & respectful manner to individuals supported, family members/guardians, government agencies, & community partners Ability to work independently Comprehensive benefits package including vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, health, dental, life, disability, and 401K. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs), behavior plans, and assessments to align with individual needs and program goals. · Create, lead and supervise Direct Support Professionals during shifts, ensuring consistent communication and adherence to daily scheduled plans. · Ensure all ISP programs and behavior data sheets are documented · Ensure medications are delivered and documented · Ensure recreation and DRO's/DRL's are run as directed · Ensure the cleaning schedule has been completed thoroughly by those assigned · Foster community involvement, employment opportunities, and recreational activities that support resident engagement and personal development. · Coordinate with families, guardians, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support as directed by Residential House Manager. · Assist with financial management, including resident accounts and house budgets, as directed by the Residential House Manager. · Attend annual and semi-annual reviews as assigned by Residential House Manager. · Ensure the program maintains the standard outlined in the Department of Developmental Services Mission Statement, the Survey and Certification Tool · Perform safety checks, assist with fire drills, and ensure compliance with DDS regulations and safety standards. · Oversee and support residents in meal preparation, shopping, and other daily living activities. · Maintain accurate documentation and records related to residents' progress, health, and program involvement. Ensuring all staff complete daily reports and tasks as assigned · Assist with household maintenance needs and vehicle upkeep to ensure a safe and functional living environment. · Take a leadership role in planning individual leisure activities and ensuring residents have access to opportunities for recreation and personal development. · Serve as the primary contact during shifts, communicating day-to-day updates to administrative personnel in the absence of the Residential House Manager. · Maintain First Aid, CPR, MAP & PABC certifications. · Maintain training specific to individual programmatic issues. · Other duties as assigned Physical and Scheduling Requirements: · Ability to assist residents with personal care, including lifting and transferring individuals. · Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, overnight coverage, and occasional overtime as needed. · Must be able to handle physically demanding situations, such as assisting in emergencies or behavioral crises. Qualifications: · B.A./B.S. in education, psychology, rehabilitation, or related field preferred or one year of experience in human services. · Must maintain active MAP certification, will need to obtain MAP certification within 3 months of hire. · Must be 21+, with a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and daily use of a car (preferred). · Must have strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. · Must be able to meet physical requirements, including assisting with resident transfers, personal care, and handling emergency situations.     ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICE PROGRAMS: The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) creates and coordinates services that enhance the quality of life for Cambridge residents. Driven by the needs of residents, DHSP's extensive services and programs touch almost every sector in the city: from newborns to senior citizens, from school-aged children to homeless families, from non-profit organizations to local employers. ABOUT THE ROLE: In partnership with the Youth Center Director and Program Director, the Team Leader is responsible for leading a cohort of Preteen/Middle School members between the ages of 9-13 as part of the Youth Center's licensed afterschool program, including team building, curriculum development, behavior management, improving performance and maintaining culture consistent with Cambridge Youth Program's values. Reporting to the Program Director, the Team Leader will lead a diverse group of pre-teens through programmed activities, service projects, civic engagement, and leadership development. The overall goals for the Team Leader are to provide direct supervision, mentorship, and support to their cohort (small group) and families throughout their engagement at our Youth Centers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Specifically, the Team Leader will: * Manage cohort activities and behaviors during center activities inside and outside of building. * Support Youth Workers' and Group Leaders' daily activities. * Assist the Program Director to oversee the implementation of policies and procedures at the Youth Center as they relate to youth members in our programs. * Inform the Program Director of specific Youth Center member needs or concerns that are brought to their attention. * Plan, design, organize, and implement age-appropriate Youth Center programs and activities for cohort and program, for Pre-Teens between the ages of 9-13. * Provide a safe, structured, and stimulating environment for Youth Center members and volunteers. * Attend and participate fully in staff meetings, planning sessions, other meetings, staff development, and training programs and activities as directed. * Conduct regular cohort meetings. * Be a positive role model and develop meaningful relationships with Youth Center members. * Maintain an open, friendly, on-going communication with families and schools about the progress of participants. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Two years' experience working with youth in an academic, recreational, or athletic setting. * HS Diploma/GED required. * Group management skills and facilitation skills. * Conflict resolution and an understanding of restorative justice. * Understanding of positive youth development. * Effective communication skills with youth and adults. * Interest and ability to engage and support families. * Ability to create and support curricular/activity design and implementation. * The City of Cambridge's workforce, like the community it serves, is diverse.
