The Role
The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for developing, sourcing, and executing high-quality, cost-effective packaging solutions that meet brand, quality, and sustainability standards. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Operations, and Sourcing, to support new product launches and ongoing production needs.
The Packaging Engineer will oversee component development, supplier management, and production readiness while driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Development & Engineering
• Translate creative design concepts into functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective packaging solutions
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, and Sourcing to ensure packaging aligns with brand standards, functionality, and cost objectives
• Interpret and approve engineering documents, including die lines, material specifications, and technical drawings
• Provide subject-matter expertise to ensure packaging feasibility and production readiness
• Lead design reviews and recommend improvements to enhance sustainability, quality, and efficiency
• Oversee tooling development, including status tracking, vendor coordination, and cost management
Supplier Management & Sourcing
• Lead supplier evaluations, RFQs, and cost of goods (COGs) analyses to ensure quality, value, and timely delivery
• Build and maintain strong relationships with packaging vendors and contract manufacturers
• Identify cost drivers and apply a total cost of ownership approach to decision-making
• Manage packaging component orders and monitor supplier performance for cost, quality, and delivery
• Conduct on-site visits for supplier assessments, color matching, and first production runs as needed
Production Planning & Quality Assurance
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery of packaging components for production and new product launches
• Oversee packaging inventory levels to support production planning and business continuity
• Support first production runs through on-site quality assurance and troubleshooting
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Planning, and Logistics to ensure readiness for on-time launches
• Drive initiatives to reduce waste, streamline processes, and improve overall packaging sustainability
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Develop and implement best-in-class packaging development processes, documentation, and tools
• Partner with Product Development, Regulatory, Planning, Finance, and Logistics to ensure seamless cross-functional alignment
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence
• Support packaging technology transfers and process standardization across product lines
Qualifications Required
• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field
• 5-6+ years of experience in packaging development, preferably within the beauty, skincare, or consumer goods industry
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and structural engineering principles
• Proven experience conducting RFQs, COGs analyses, and managing supplier relationships
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
• Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Preferred
• Experience with sustainability initiatives and waste-reduction strategies
• Knowledge of clean beauty standards and eco-conscious materials
• Familiarity with PLM systems and technical documentation best practices
• Willingness to travel for supplier meetings, production evaluations, and quality reviews

Overview
The AI/ML Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and deploying machine learning models and AI systems to transform data into actionable insights. The AI/ML Engineer ensures that models developed by data scientists are scalable and seamlessly integrated into production environments, where they are monitored for data and infrastructure drift. Collaboration with Data Scientists, Software Developers, Engineers, and Domain Architects is essential for the AI/ML Engineer to gather requirements and integrate AI solutions into existing systems, creating a cohesive technological ecosystem.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and develop LLM-powered chatbots and agents that integrate with business systems and workflows.
Fine-tune or prompt-engineer foundation models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Databricks MosaicML) for enterprise use cases.
Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and vector databases for domain-specific knowledge integration.
Develop data ingestion and orchestration pipelines using Databricks, Python, or Spark for model input/output.
Implement evaluation frameworks for chatbot quality, hallucination detection, and model performance tracking.
Collaborate with backend and data engineering teams to deploy AI models as APIs or microservices in production.
Ensure security, compliance, and ethical AI standards across all deployments.
Experiment with multi-agent workflows and contextual memory for autonomous task execution.
Contribute to the organization's AI engineering playbook, ensuring scalable and reusable design patterns.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Deploy machine learning models into production environments and ensure models are scalable and able to handle real-time data processing.
Monitor model performance and accuracy over time and update modes with new data when available and as requirements change.
Debug and troubleshoot issues with model performance and/or deployment.
Ensure AI models adhere to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards and address issues related to bias, fairness and transparency in AI systems.
Develop and optimize algorithms to enable machines to perform tasks aligned with business objectives.
Handle data preprocessing and feature engineering.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with proven experience in LLM or chatbot development.
Strong proficiency in Python (LangChain, or similar frameworks).
Experience with Databricks, Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, or equivalent platforms.
Hands-on experience with OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude, Hugging Face Transformers, or MosaicML.
Familiarity with vector databases.
Solid understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, model fine-tuning, and evaluation metrics.
Proficiency in SQL and data pipeline development.
Strong understanding of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and API deployment practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Experience building enterprise-grade AI assistants or autonomous agent frameworks.
Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration and tools integration (e.g., MCP, LangGraph, CrewAI).
Exposure to supply chain, planning, or analytics use cases.

Responsibilities and Duties
* Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes for CNC machining (3-axis, 5-axis, and additive manufacturing), fabrication, and assembly operations.

* Support CPK Analysis of our equipment, implementing improvements suggested.
* Specify tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids for CNC, fabrication, and assembly processes.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in machining, fabrication, and assembly operations.
* Develop and maintain process standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
* Train operators and technicians on new processes, tooling, and equipment.
* Evaluate and implement automation and digital manufacturing technologies where applicable.
* Leads and initiates measures that mitigate risk within a manufacturing process alongside the quality engineering group. Including PFMEA, maintaining ISO compliance, and CPK analysis.
* Facilitate implementation and maintenance of all TPM (planned maintenance, autonomous maintenance, and CI) activities.
Experience/Education Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering; equivalent technical experience considered.
* 3+ years of experience in CNC machining, fabrication, or manufacturing engineering.
* Experience with manufacturing equipment, automation, and troubleshooting (CNC, milling, turning, and fabrication).
* Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process optimization, and DFM required.
* Familiarity with capacity modeling, OEE, and tooling utilization of metrics. Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.
* Hands-on approach with proven ability to work effectively on the shop floor.
Technical Requirements:
* Experience in CAM software (Esprit, NX, Gibbs or equivalent).
* Strong understanding in CAD software (Solidworks ,AutoCAD, or equivalent).
* Understanding of ERP/MRP systems (SAP S4/Hana preferred)
* Strong grasp of GD&T, tolerancing, and precision machining practices.

The Manufacturing Engineer III (Senior) position exists to lead and oversee the formulation, implementation, and management of manufacturing systems within the production team in Jacksonville, FL, with a broader impact extending to Mustang Survival and sister company Patten. The primary objective is to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to the market. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with implementing Lean manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, flexibility, and quality throughout the manufacturing operations.
STRUCTURE
The Manufacturing Engineer (Senior) reports to Manufacturing Engineering Lead.
RESPONSIBILITY
Collaborate with project teams to launch new military and professional life saving products.
Support and Drive LEAN manufacturing and 5S Initiatives. Incorporate Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process improvement efforts.
Drive initiation for continuous improvement projects to increase production capacity and quality. Conduct data analysis and utilize performance metrics tracking to measure the impact of improvement projects.
Support issue management and problem-solving using root cause analysis techniques and corrective action implementation to address recurring problems effectively.
Work in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing and product development, production, quality, supply chain, marketing, sale, and finance team.
Develops work instructions, drawings, tests, modifications, assembly processes, fixtures, processes or specialized manufacturing, test equipment for existing or new products and ensure production readiness.
Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation such as BOL, tooling and work instruction
Assist and Lead in development on testing and validating the new product, process and system.
Actively participate and support in regulatory compliance testing and validation protocols
Work closely with contract electrician and machine shop to build test or assembly fixture for production.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in engineering relative with a focus in industrial, mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, or equivalent as preferred.
8 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
A combination of relevant training and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with New Production Introduction (NPI).
Lean manufacturing knowledge and direct experience required including 5S, Root cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Why, Poka Yoke.
Knowledge with technical writing of process documents (PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Checklists.)
Proficient in 2D and 3D model design using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
Enjoy hands-on work with machines and tools
Analytical and proven track record of problem solving
Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
A Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimum guidance
Strong written & verbal communication skills to generate process instructions and reports
