A Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for: Providing direct care to residents under individual plans of care, administering care and medications per doctor's orders. Administer medications and/or treatment in accordance with physician's orders and monitors for effectiveness/response. Document resident care using charting software. Notify Nurse Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and take follow-up action, as necessary. Work to coordinate, oversee, and provide guidance to NARs, Display a positive attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff. Position available includes working every other weekend and every other holiday: 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (5 shifts per two-week pay period) Qualifications: Degree obtained from an accredited nursing program. Must be in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing and have a current MN LPN license. Minimum of one-year previous experience as a nurse is required, preferably in memory care setting. Qualifications: LPN License Salary Range: Pay Grade 12, Local 66 Contract Term: 35 hours/week Beginning approximately November 24, 2025, through March 2, 2026 Primary Location: Bay View Elementary As a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Minnesota you will work directly under the supervision of Proctor Public School District - Licensed School Nurse. This individual will work in the nurse's office overseeing general student health needs at the Elementary level. Pediatric and Triage nursing will be a part of the daily routine. The nurse will be responsible for health data input in the online Power School program in order to maintain accurate and up-to-date health file records. Various educational programs will be taught to students throughout the school year. The LPN will assist the Licensed school nurse with hearing and vision screening and follow-ups and referrals. Main Qualifications and Certificates: Requires a minimum of two years (LPN) Certified in CPR and First Aid. Knowledgeable in diabetes, allergies, asthma, and seizure management. Other Requirements: In good physical health; able to lift 50-100 pounds seven to eight times/day from floor to waist height. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and, simultaneously, talk and hear using a mobile communication device. (ie., cell phone, walkie talkie) While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, walk, bend and squat. Assist Diabetic students with blood sugar monitoring and carbohydrate counting under the supervision of LSN, students Doctor and the parents/guardians. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, and staff. Ability to independently supervise students. Strong independent thinking, time management, and priority setting skills. Computer Proficiency Assist school nurse with the management of MA health reimbursement. Knowledge of principles, practices, and trends in nursing, health care, and child growth and development issues. Experience working with health impaired, developmentally disabled, or emotionally involved children. Develop, within 10 days, a general understanding of job duties and responsibilities. Will demonstrate correct body mechanics during lifting or transferring, considering employee safety, as well as student safety. Ability to multi-task and switch from one role to another with ease. Ability to be an independent thinker with quick decision-making abilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide routine first aid and care to ill and injured students. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by student's physicians and as directed by the Licensed School Nurse. Assist School Nurse with hearing and vision screening at the beginning of the year and as needed throughout the school year. Observes and communicates student health issues with the licensed school nurse, school counselor, parents, teachers, & principal as needed. Perform clerical and computer duties as assigned; to include monitoring student health files for immunization compliance. (as guided by MN state immunization laws) Maintains and prepares student health records including health histories, immunization dates, and prescription orders from physicians. Assist teachers as directed by the licensed school nurse and building principal. Notify and consult with other professionals in the school regarding any concerns with a child's physical/emotional health condition. Other health and educational duties as assigned and delegated by licensed school nurse according to IHP and IEP, or as assigned by building principal. May need to perform special nursing procedures under the delegation/direction of the licensed school nurse and according to policies. Perform duties in accordance with data privacy laws.
