Job Summary
We are a COVID-19 proactive organization that follows applicable health and safety regulations to help protect our members and staff. Under the direction of the Education Director, the Teen Tutor will provide individual and/or small-group tutoring to boys 13-21 years old. Tutors will be strongly supported by the Education Director and are responsible for planning their own lessons and finding materials. He/she will work with core subjects, including Math, English, Science, and History, as well as Regent's and other test preparation. We are seeking a reliable, highly motivated candidate with a strong record of working with teens and young people.

* Plan, organize, and implement appropriate programs and lesson plans to enhance skill development of participants

* Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain a positive relationship with all members, families and staff
* Write, implement and adapt a curriculum and training methods that meets participants' interests

Qualifications
* Minimum bachelor's degree with a focus in Education or a relevant field
* At least 2 years of experience as a Tutor or classroom teacher

In our pursuit to provide all members with services that will allow them to reach their potential, we are currently searching for an SAT/Regents Prep Tutor to provide assistance to our high school-aged members, ages 14-21. JOB SUMMARY: The tutor will be responsible for providing homework help and small group tutoring for elementary school students after school on a daily basis. The tutor will track students' academic progress and implement academic interventions to support students. The tutor will work closely with parents to engage them in supporting students with homework help and preparation for testing. In addition, the tutor will work closely with the Community School Team (director, social worker, community engagement coordinator, and outreach worker) to provide resources that will enhance the Community School.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
College student required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
At least 1-2 years' experience teaching, tutoring and/or engaged in educational support, specifically in Math, Science, History, & ELA
Experience working with elementary students and behavior management
Strong organizational and computer skills
Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks
Excellent facilitation and communication skills

Manages participants' behavior (ensures that all program areas are safe)
Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of all program supplies
Encourage and support the completion of homework and school projects
Establish close relationships with student parents and teachers
Encourage parents to attain higher levels of education and provide GED and/or ESL tutoring for parents on a case-by-case basis
Maintain ongoing open communication with parents and school-based staff
Call parents regarding student performance and address parent concerns
Chaperone youth group during trips, sporting events, games, and other field activities
Communicate with supervisor regarding design and implementation of program, communicate barriers and brainstorm solutions
Assist with all aspects of programming (i.e. following organizations mission; supervising all youth, working collectively and communicating with all staff)
Create and follow through on lesson plans and curricula
Work closely with community engagement coordinator, social worker, and outreach worker to support targeted student needs.
Attend all required department/ agency meetings and/ or trainings
Other/ special duties as assigned by director, community engagement coordinator or senior staff

Job Summary
Tutors will work one-on-one and/or in small groups with boys between 7-13 years of age, who require special education instruction and modifications, administer diagnostics on boys with academic needs when appropriate, support other tutors in their instruction techniques, and help create strong programs (such as specific clubs or preparation courses).

Responsibilities
* Plan, organize, and implement appropriate programs and lesson plans to enhance skill development of participants
* Work regularly with the Education Director and other relevant staff to assess the needs of individual students and adapt lessons to meet those needs
* Observe and track member progress and attendance
* Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain a positive relationship with all members, families and staff
* Write, implement and adapt a curriculum and training methods that meets participants' interests
* Other duties as assigned
* Attend required department meetings and professional development trainings
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree preferred with a focus in Special Education and/or other highly relevant field
