Description of Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Dietitian, the Enteral Technician enters and prepares Enteral feeding orders for filling and dispensing, maintains work areas, creates DWOs and sends for signature, and enters medication profiles in a timely manner.

Responsibilities Include the Following:
1. Enteral order entry, initial fills and refills:
Places calls to the patient to coordinate a timely and accurate delivery of enteral formula, equipment and supplies.
Prepares labels and generates delivery tickets.
Coordinate care with RD, MD and home health agencies.
Obtain updated weights, formula/supply inventory, compliance, and/or any enteral feeding issues and relay to Registered Dietitian as appropriate.
2. Perform data entry:
Perform data entry of patient medication profiles and patient chart audits
Discharge patients from CPR+ at the end of therapy
3. Enteral team Liaison:
Act as liaison for the Enteral team with the Nutrition Support department
Communicate with doctors, nurses, and hospitals regarding patient care
Able to communicate well with the pharmacy staff, nutrition support team and supervisor
4. Create detailed written orders (DWOs) and send for signature.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
2. Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.
3. Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
4. Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and use of the internet, as well as word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
Ability to use good judgment and work with minimal direction.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express technical issues in “layman” terms.
Education and/or Experience:
1. Must have a High School diploma or Graduation Equivalent Diploma (G.E.D.) or Higher.
2. Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in California preferred / not required.
3. Possess and exercise advanced level of accuracy.
4. Minimum of 3 years' retail pharmacy experience preferred.
5. Home Infusion/enteral dispensing experience preferred.
6. Basic knowledge of insurance, authorization, and billing.

Keep yourself updated about healthy food preparation techniques.
Set up the dining area while maintaining cleanliness.
Deliver the meals to the patients in their rooms on time.
Monitor the food stock level and order more stock when required.
Collect plates and glasses from the dining area and rooms after the meals are finished. Maintain and clean the kitchen appliances and equipment regularly.
Maintain the quality of the meals prepared.
Report the occurrences of any problems to the higher management on time.
Requirements
High school diploma.
Foodservice certification is mandatory.
Nutrition and food service or food-safety certification will be preferred.
Some experience working as a Dietary Aide or Cook.
Familiar with food safety and sanitation regulations.

What You'll Do:
Prepare dining areas for meal service; assist with food preparation alongside the cook; and serve meals, snacks, and special-event food in a timely, courteous manner while following portion control, diet orders, and Kashrut requirements.
Serve residents, staff, and guests respectfully; respond promptly to requests from residents, families, and coworkers; and uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and respect for personal property.
Follow infection control, universal precautions, and fire safety procedures while maintaining a safe, clean, and calm environment and remaining alert to resident safety concerns.
Perform daily and scheduled cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, sanitizing tray delivery carts, removing trash, and keeping all work and storage areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
Clean and stock nourishment kitchens; properly store clean dishes; obtain food supplies for upcoming meals; and ensure all equipment and work areas are maintained according to established procedures.
