The Bridge Behavioral Health started in 1983 when a group of civic-minded community members created Cornhusker Place – a nonprofit agency whose sole purpose was to deliver Civil Protective Custody program in our community.
Since 1984, The Bridge Behavioral Health has served as an essential part of our community’s safety net, connecting people suffering from addiction and related mental health issues with support and treatment.
Ended the remodeling project started in 2000 with 4 of the 5 projected phases completed*
2003 Closed on purchase of the building Started Short-Term Treatment Program
Started Women’s Intermediate Residential Care Program (discontinued in 2007 due to lack of funder support)
2009 Started Domestic Violence Program Rebranded to The Bridge at Cornhusker Place to better highlight treatment services
2011 Achieved Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) certification
2012 Started 1st Annual Fundraising event
2015-16 Began a $1.5 Million Capital Campaign to fund a $3 Million remodel of the entire building
