Assists passengers as needed in the boarding and disembarking of the vehicle in order to ensure the safety of all passengers, including assistance during vehicle evacuation, as necessary.
Boards and disembarks passengers, including those using common wheelchairs or other mobility devices, requiring the use of lift equipment and securement systems according to the system's policies and procedures in order to ensure the safety of all passengers.
Completes daily paperwork using pen or pencil, as required, to ensure accurate reporting and records.
Completes daily pre-trip inspection using the required inspection checklist to ensure the proper and safe functioning of the vehicle.
Regularly inventories vehicle equipment and supplies; reports restocking needs in accordance with the system's established procedure in order to maintain a safe, functional vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Medical Courier Summary
Medical Courier will be responsible for the pickup, transport and deliver of medical specimens, lab supplies and reports, while providing excellent service to our health centers.
A Day in the Life

· Complete daily pick up schedule in a timely manner.
· Delivery daily picks to the central laboratory site by the end of your shift.
· Handle all specimens and lab samples in safe and efficient manner.
· Safely operate company or personal vehicle and obey all traffic laws.
· Follow chain of command protocol to manage daily pick-ups.
· Deliver in-house medications or supplies to health centers within route.
· Provide data entry into electronic medical record.
· Maintains daily log on route sheet and number of specimens picked up.
· Reports any operational or safety issues to supervisor.
· Demonstrates confidentiality and discretion when dealing with patient information.

The driver is responsible for driving the Mobile Mammography van to and from places where our patients live and work. Once on site, this person collects information and registers patients for their appointment.
Operates hospital vehicle to transport Mammography Technologist and equipment to various sites in a safe manner, adhering to Mercy Health policies and DOT regulations.
Completes daily pre check and post check maintenance checklist to ensure van and equipment are in working order. Reports any malfunction of the vehicle to management.
Gases vehicle on specified days of the week, maintains cleanliness of van and stocks supplies when necessary.
Meets and greets customers. Obtains and verifies patient demographic information and ensures completion of forms to include: copies patient insurance card, Medicare questionnaire, obtain signed consent form and ABN when necessary
