Assistance may be total, partial, or stand by depending upon physical and cognitive ability of resident. Duties & Responsibilities Assures the maximum quality of life for all residents by maintaining privacy, accommodating individual preference, promoting independence, encouraging and assisting participation in community activities and events, and communicating respectfully at all times. Assists residents in and out of bed and chair/wheelchair with the correct use of the transfer techniques if required. Depending on residents' weight and physical abilities, may require the assistance of another aide or the use of a mechanical lift to move the resident. If resident is unable to reposition self, provide assistance to turn and reposition resident intermittently. Assists residents in bathing as assigned. Monitor hygiene continuously and assist as needed to ensure that residents and their clothing are clean. Assists in personal grooming of residents including brushing hair, brushing teeth, trimming fingernails and toenails, and assists residents in dressing or undressing. Folds or hangs clean clothing items and places soiled items in hamper. Removes soiled bedding and replaces with clean linens as needed. Assists residents in using bathroom and perineal care. May be required to provide, remove and clean bedpans, urinals catheter bags, and bedside commodes. Assists residents to dining area for meals or provides meals in room as required. Assists in delivery dining service to residents and documenting intake of nourishment as needed. Serves in-between meal nourishment and assists as needed. Records amount eaten by residents as needed. Assists in maintaining cleanliness, condition, and supplies in resident suites by observing and reporting housekeeping and maintenance needs and obtaining care supplies from the community or family as needed. Maintains all work and service areas in clean and orderly condition. Assists in maintaining resident records. Documents assistance provided to residents at the end of each shift. Communicates all changes and unusual observation concerning residents physical and psychosocial functioning. Attends training courses and participates in other professional development activities as required. Report any suspicion or evidence of elder abuse, mistreatment or neglect as outlined in Human Resources Policies. Qualifications: Nurse Aide Certification or equivalent is required. Experience caring for seniors with Alzheimer's / dementia. Must be able to clearly and proficiently communicate with people of all ages and abilities, displaying consideration of their rights and sensitivities, while maintaining an energetic, positive attitude. Must be able to read and write English, and follow verbal and written instructions. Must maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance and follow the dress code as outlined in the employee handbook. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings. Be in good health, and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Knowledge & Skill: Must be kind, caring, and possess a genuine desire to work with seniors. Must have excellent verbal skills and communication abilities. Ability to work effectively within a team based environment. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and families. Ability to calculate figures related to amounts such as percentages and area. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Pre-Employment Requirements: Successful completion of criminal background check in state of employment. Demonstrate freedom from Tuberculosis by PPD/TB test or chest x-ray, documenting the absence of tuberculosis in a communicable form. Pass a pre-employment drug test. Mental and Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The team member regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms above, below and at shoulder height. The team member frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Must be able to push a minimum of 200 pounds and be able to push such weight a minimum distance of 200 feet. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during an emergency. Work area may be subject to noise, distractions, and interruptions. Apply now! Responsibilities The Community Business Director (CBD) is responsible for managing and supervising the business office functions at the community. This position serves as the community's primary resource for handling and managing questions/inquiries from residents and their families as well as from our own employees related to, among other things, cash receipts, billing, vendor payments, expenses, payroll and benefits. The CBD also coordinates and assists with maintaining accurate employee payroll and benefits data and is expected to be able to explain and instruct employees regarding benefit options. Maintains and oversees specific processes for the collection and maintenance of resident data, which includes resident statement accuracy, review of resident agings, confirming level of care to billing accuracy, and resident demographic information. Responsibly manages and supervises all front desk/clerical personnel including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review (including input on pay adjustments), hiring and discipline consistent with company policy. Assists the Executive Director with managing the community's operation by utilizing independent judgment and discretion to review and advise on billing issues, expenditures and budgetary matters for the community. Manages and directs all accounts receivable, to include pursuit and follow-up of unpaid balances. Ensures correct coding of the community's accounts payable and accrues expenses as needed. Directs collection of on-site employee data related to, among other things, demographics, payroll, employee benefits and employee leave administration. Ensures employee files are maintained in accordance with Atria's policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Primary community responsibility for assistance with month-end close process. This would include, among other things, accrual preparation and analysis of general ledger/monthly operating statements. Works with Executive Director to fully understand operating results and trends. Diligently works toward the completion of special projects, request, and assignments as appropriate. Serves as the community's “manager-on-duty” on a regular basis. Assists in sales process by conducting inquiry tours as necessary. May drive company vehicle from community to social and other various destinations (only if required by community). May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field and two (2) years of experience with business office functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) to five (5) years in business office management, finance or accounting preferred. Working knowledge of general accounting, billing and collections and expense management practices. Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Able to clearly present information through the spoken word. Can accurately communicate, providing the necessary level of detail even under stressful or demanding conditions. Ensures a positive attitude and team orientation is exhibited in verbal and non-verbal communication. Past history of solid performance management skills, including the ability to communicate performance expectations, document performance conversations, coach and document performance issues and complete performance management expectations as guided by the Company. Able to perform budget analysis and variance reporting. Proficient in using Microsoft Office and ability to operate standard office equipment. Salary Range Range from $66,000.00/yr - $79,200.00/yr, dependent on prior work history and experience
