The Occupational Therapist in Home Health is responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments and adaptive equipment, and other occupational therapy needs as defined by medical conditions.

Required

The successful candidate will join a pediatric department providing medical education and patient care at a public, teaching hospital in Phoenix, AZ. The hospital, Valleywise Health, is a major affiliate of the Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. Our pediatric services include a 24-hour Pediatric Emergency Department, a 10-bed Pediatric in-patient unit, a 6-bed PICU, a busy newborn nursery, a Level III NICU, and multiple federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) delivering pediatric primary care.
This physician will primarily provide comprehensive outpatient services addressing a full spectrum of adolescent health needs including eating disorders, sexual and reproductive health, and integrated mental health. Adolescent medicine clinics are often held with pediatric residents and medical students. The pediatric residency program is in partnership with Phoenix Children's Hospital and accepts forty residents per year. GED/High school diploma with a minimum of 1.5 years of behavioral health experience, or an associate's degree in the behavioral health field, or
A bachelor's degree (not in the field of behavioral health) and 1 year of behavioral health experience, or

Leads and manages the RCM department, including billing, coding, payment posting, and insurance follow-up functions.
Oversees department structure and staffing; recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates performance of RCM staff.
Builds and reinforces a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, share updates, and address issues proactively.
Administers disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans in accordance with organizational policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Owns full lifecycle of the revenue cycle process, ensuring timely and accurate charge capture, coding, billing, collections, denial management, and cash posting.
Monitors KPIs weekly and monthly (e.g., AR days, denial rate, clean claim rate, net collection rate) and initiates corrective action in collaboration with department leads and CFO.
Presents regular KPI dashboards, trends, and action plans to the CFO and executive team.
Provides feedback and financial insight to the Accounting team for accurate month-end close, revenue recognition, and forecasting.
Coordinates with billing contractors and monitors the quality, productivity, and compliance of their work. Ensures contracted resources are effectively utilized while actively developing internal team capacity to reduce long-term dependency.
Leads development, implementation, and enforcement of comprehensive and compliant SOPs for all RCM functions.

Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar safety-net provider strongly preferred.
EPIC certification in Charge Review, Payment Posting, Self-Pay Follow Up, Insurance Follow Up, and/or Coding.
Advanced training or certification in Revenue Cycle Management, Healthcare Compliance, or Project Management is a plus.

Responsibilities
Patient Care Services
Provide patient care services for which he/she is clinically privileged, including but not limited to:
Provide direct patient care services on an inpatient and outpatient basis
Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up.
Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures
Provide these services for urgent/ emergent care as necessary
Strive to achieve the best patient and family centered care
Support Hospitals patient satisfaction goals as well as divisions specific targets
Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards
Practices Contemporary Evidence based medicine or latest experience based medicine
Divisional Responsibilities
Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (e.g. individual, division, hospital)
Support the medical education programs and activities of the Division, including but not limited to:
Provide direct supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals for the delivery of inpatient and outpatient services when applicable
Conduct teaching rounds, lectures and conference for trainees
Participate in the teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals assigned to the division
Participate in the postgraduate continuing educational activities of the division
Support the research endeavors of the division including the research initiatives by other members of the division
Support programmatic growth of division
Support satellite efforts of division when appropriate
