1971

"The culmination of the dreams and efforts of hundreds of volunteers, both living and dead, the Center is a landmark in the diagnosis, treatment and training of handicapped children. 1985

In 1985 the Charles Lea Center Foundation was established.

1986

In 1986 the Charles Lea Center Foundation was established.

1990

1990: WorkAbility moves to a new, larger campus off Business I-85

1990:CLIC moves to a new, larger campus off of Business 85

2003

2003: The McCarthy-Teszler School moves into its own building beside the Charles Lea Center

2004

2004:The McCarthy-Teszler School moves into its own building

2009

2009 The development of a computer lab to provide access to technology for the individuals who are supported through the Charles Lea Center.

2010

2010 Conducted an 18 month intensive training and organizational change strategy that would lead to a full implementation of person centered thinking throughout the Charles Lea Center.

WINE TASTING – In 2010, a wine tasting and sale held in the early spring was added as a fundraiser.

2011

2011: The Center opens a state-of-the art computer lab for use by the individuals it serves.

2013

2013: The Charles Lea Center introduces technology as a means to support individuals in their homes through a partnership with Simply Home.

2013 The development of an exercise trail, onsite gym and a nurse practitioner for Charles Lea Center Employees.

2014

2014: The Customized Career Network was established to provide training and assistance for community jobs.

2014 Fully implemented a CLOUD program that uses technology, intensive training & education that facilitates movement from traditional residential model to highly individualized supported housing programs.

2017

2017: The CLC opens an eight-unit apartment complex in downtown Woodruff.

2018

2018: The CLC opens a new campus in Chesnee, ChesLea.
