Responsibilities
Set clear daily performance objectives, plan and execute daily huddle with the team, and lead the sales floor during assigned shifts.
Drive sales results and conversion by analyzing the business during assigned shifts to determine proper key performance indicators focus. Role model, coach, and provide feedback on selling behaviors, in all interactions.
Meet or exceed expectations for individual selling behaviors as well as company established key performance indicators expectations on a personal level.
Actively participates and consistently reads store and company communication to be current - uses Organized Outlook communication tool.
Support the training, coaching, and development of the part-time team.
Provide recognition to the team that reinforces positive behaviors and desired results.
Utilize company programs and tools to support the training and development of the part-time Team.
Personally certified in The Container Stores Salesfloor Leadership program, Coaching and specific design training courses to effectively lead the salesfloor during assigned shifts.
Support BOPIS activity, daily custom space sales goals and lead/appointment conversion.
Adheres to and holds part-time team accountable to all company Standard Operating Practices.
Works with the team to maintain a strong brand presentation to maximize the customer experience.
Adheres to loss prevention methods to meet shrink goals and minimize lost revenue.

Perform additional duties as assigned and necessary for the Sales Leader role.

2 years of retail sales or related experience - some management a plus

General Office
* Lead and coordinate the opening of the store: safe, controller, registers and distribution of reports
* Supervise SOA team is maintaining daily functions, including but not limited to; morning cash entry, processing bank deposits, reconciling chargebacks, and counting register and petty cash
* Act as escalation specialist in resolving customer issues, both internal and external
Jewelry Operations
* Follows and trains Jewelry Standards and Shipping Guidelines, makes recommendations to improve processes and maintains inventory accuracy.
* Receives, verifies, and ensures the proper booking of all jewelry in accordance with Company standards
* Supervises the efficient processing of re-tickets, RTV's, Transfers, Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) Shipments and price changes
* Oversee the retrieval and processing of all merchandise to be returned/transferred to the vendor in accordance with Company standards
* Ensure case counts are completed, all merchandise is entered into the case count system after receipt, and all discrepancies are reconciled
* Maintain and audit the repair log, track all repairs sent to the vendor or local shop, and submit repair invoices
* Receive and verify all merchandise for trunk shows, assist in show set-up/take down, recap results, and manage the consignment merchandise life-cycle
* Ensure SOA team prepares and submits all special order requests
* Process and oversee Jewelry fulfillment
Returns Desk
* Resolves customer issues, ensure team provides customer service to all clients returning product, oversee associate scheduling, maintain product organization, create, pack and manifest transfers, and galvanize a return transfer compliance of 95%+
Common
* Internal Audit readiness and adherence to Internal Audit standards, including but not limited to monitoring vault/safe contents to remain up-to-date (audit ready)
* Supporting the AGMO and corporate team with cross-functional training of specialized operations team,
* Assist in the implementation of policies and best practices, makes recommendations to Management team
* Proactively partner with AGMO and corporate team on weekly/monthly workload
* Motivate team to meet results; make recommendations to Management for hiring, firing and promotion decisions

We are seeking a non-commissioned, part-time Sales & Design Specialist. This hourly position focuses on two key objectives:
Providing exceptional customer service by designing and selling custom space solutions, such as shelving systems for closets, pantries, offices, and garages.
Achieving individual weekly sales goals by finalizing sales for customer-designed projects.
To be considered for this position, candidates must be available on nights and weekends and have the flexibility to take on other customer-facing roles on the sales floor as needed.

Responsibilities
Collaborates and works with customers to design customized plans in a clear and professional manner
Drives all the services available with each customer interaction: In-Home Designing, In-Home Organizing, installation, financing, and loyalty
Focuses on closing sales efficiently, to build repeat and referral business with customers
Consistently maintains clear communication with Managers and Support Center partners to seamlessly complete projects from inquiry to installation to achieve sales goals
Leads the sales floor and performs other tasks or duties in partnership with Managers
Remains current with The Container Store training, selling, product knowledge, promotions, processes and philosophies when interacting with customers and store employees
Actively leads and participates in the daily maintenance of the custom space area and visual presentation of the store
As a brand ambassador, enthusiastically drives, motivates, and supports all company initiatives by modeling and coaching professional and productive behaviors with store employees to achieve store goals
Proficiently and consistently uses company tools and email

Qualifications
College degree preferred
2-5 years sales and clientele experience preferred
Design experience and spatial intelligence
Excellent communication and follow-up skills
Maintains professional appearance and wears required dress code when representing The Container Store
Knowledge and passion for following trends in the custom closets and retail industry
Strong computer skills
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
