DAVE School is seeking a qualified Digital Arts and Technology Adjunct Instructor. (On-Campus)

The Instructor's duties include teaching, directing, and coordinating academic or academic-related activities. The Faculty member provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to gain employment in their chosen field of study by utilizing teaching skills, experience, and abilities to create a positive, nurturing, and effective classroom environment that actively engages and supports students in their program of study, ultimately leading to their retention and successful graduation. The instructor is assigned to a specific program based on their professional and educational qualifications and teaches a full-time load each term or module.
Course: Digital Cinematography
Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:45 PM to 9:45 PM.
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in Television, Electronic Media, Digital Media, or Video Production.
One Year of College-Level Teaching Experience.
Official academic transcripts of all degrees are required. All degrees must be from institutions accredited by regional or national accrediting bodies approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign transcripts may be acceptable in some cases and require a translation and evaluation of equivalency to U.S. degrees by a recognized agency.

Responsibilities:
Develops and delivers lesson plans and instructional materials and promotes a teaching-learning environment that encourages students' academic progress.
Conducts lectures, discussions, and practical demonstrations to teach students
Start and end class at the assigned times, including break times
Keep current with industry trends and developments to ensure that course content remains relevant. Maintains knowledge of the subject matter in the field(s) of appointment and creates learning experiences to make the subject matter meaningful and relevant to the students
Provides feedback and guidance to students and helps them improve their skills and knowledge in and out of the class during open lab or office hours
Be prepared for class every day. Have the syllabus, lesson plans, classroom or lab, and related materials ready
Maintains the content of the courses updated and at a top level to achieve the highest standards of academic excellence possible.
All positions require exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and familiarity with information systems; available to deliver the course using diverse resources; strong verbal and written communication skills.

The Digital Animation & Visual Effects (DAVE) School was founded on June 8, 2000, by two Industry executives looking to create #CareerReady artists with practical animation skills. They created a school that offered specialized training in Visual Effects with extensive practice under industry-level supervision. The Game Production program followed 13 years later, in September of 2014, making it the second program to be offered by the school. Candidates should be willing to teach Audiovisual Productions (COMM 350), an introductory technical course that all Communications majors must take. For those without extensive experience in Audiovisual Productions, a willingness to learn and can-do attitude may suffice.
Candidates should also be capable of instructing students in one or more of the following areas:
Media Production (advanced audiovisual productions, podcasting, animation, illustration, photography, cinematography, editing, podcasting, social/digital media production, broadcast journalism)
Writing for media (screenwriting, audio drama, video games, graphic novels)
Performance (screen acting, voice acting, public speaking)
The ability to teach in the Communications and Literature Department's Rhetoric & Poetics (RETP) courses, which cover the rhetorical and literary tradition from antiquity onwards and which instruct students in writing and speaking, will be considered favorably.
All candidates should be excited to develop communication courses for a program rooted in the rhetorical tradition and the Catholic intellectual, spiritual, and social traditions. Successful candidates will seek to embody the Communications and Literature Department's mission of uniting argument, storytelling, and cultural analysis. Appointment begins Fall 2026.
