Position requires experience in sensor or swath calibration and alignment adjustment. Preferred experience using mainstream commercial software suites (Bayesmap StripAlign, TerraSolid Products) or adjustments done in sensor vendor specific suites (Optech LMS, Riegl RiProcess,). AECOM is hiring for an Entry-Level Biologist in our Florida office locations, which include Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. We will also consider exceptional candidates in other AECOM locations in the Southeast United States. The successful candidate will work within an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment that provides career growth opportunities within AECOM's Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) Southeast Team. This position will consist of both in-person and virtual (telework) work environments and will include performing environmental impact assessments, marine and terrestrial wetland delineations and functional assessments, protected species surveys, protected upland habitat surveys, stormwater inspections, environmental permitting, and technical report writing. Our EPP Southeast team primarily works on projects in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting the lead Biologist/Scientist in performing wetland, plants and wildlife, protected upland, intertidal and nearshore marine, and other ecological surveys.
* Assisting ecological leads with processing field data and development/originating ecological assessment reports and utilization of equipment such as tablets and GPS units.
* Assisting with coordination of various governmental agencies regarding ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, endangered and threatened species coordination, or compliance with environmental permit and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
* Identify potential environmental impacts through reviews of engineering plans, aerials, field data, desktop research, and GIS databases.
* Conduct visual inspections of drainage facilities
* Working with the team leads to becoming familiar with our field survey equipment, data forms and other data collection and reporting tools.
* Assisting in preparing permit applications, NEPA documents, and other technical information.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology or another related field.
* The position requires fieldwork, and the candidate must have reliable transportation and be able to travel overnight. Field work may require working long days outdoors, over uneven densely vegetated terrain, sometimes under rigorous conditions (e.g., hot and/or rainy weather, remote areas, in a variety of habitats).
* Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
* Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with field data collection, research and data review, and preparation of technical reports/documents.
* Knowledge of applicable federal and state environmental laws and regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National environmental Policy Act, etc.)
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
* Knowledgeable in using iPads, Android tables and applications, Trimble GPS survey units, tablets, and other data collection tools or similar survey equipment.
* GIS capabilities using ESRI and ARCGIS (ArcMap and/or ArcPro) software and ability to create figures or perform analysis on location data sets.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical writing.
* Safety or Health and Safety training (i.e., CPR certification, OSHA HAZWOPER 40 hours)
* Team oriented with strong verbal and writing skills and demonstrates professionalism and accountability.
* High degree of self-motivation and ability to work both independently and in a team setting.

Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. A driller trainee will assist the crew chief in solid auger and rotary drilling techniques. The trainee will help move, set up and operate drill rigs and related equipment to drill test borings for geotechnical engineering studies. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on sites to be developed as buildings, roadways and bridges. Work is outdoors. On any given day, you'll:
Develop and execute strategic, business, and marketing plans for the Tampa transportation group, with a focus on growth, profitability, and staff development.
Lead performance metrics including revenue, backlog, billing, and client satisfaction.
Supervise and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
Represent Ayres in the Tampa community and within professional organizations.
Drive business development efforts, leveraging your local network to win new work and expand client relationships.
Collaborate with other divisions to foster a unified, efficient, and innovative work environment.
Ensure alignment with corporate policies and uphold our commitment to quality and integrity.
Other responsibilities may include:
Lead marketing and proposal efforts for FDOT District 7, cities, counties, and private sector clients in the Tampa Bay region.
Oversee technical project execution, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Prepare and negotiate contracts, scopes, schedules, and fees with clients and subconsultants.
Implement and maintain quality assurance and control procedures across all projects.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in staff supervision, project management, and client development.
Strong presence in the Tampa transportation market with a track record of successful business development.
Collaborative leadership style that fosters a supportive, inclusive team culture.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in a consulting or engineering firm.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
Registered professional engineer (PE) in Florida.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
15 years of experience in transportation engineering.
Well-established existing network of contacts including FDOT connections.

Our good-faith compensation approach is fair and equitable, and takes into consideration only permissible factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, training, skills, and experience, and geographic location where the work is performed. A salary range for this posting is $175000 - $210000. The foregoing salary range represents what the company believes, in good-faith, it will pay for the posted opportunity. The individual selected for this role will be evaluated with the compensation factors in mind and placed appropriately.

Responsibilities
Develop roadway geometrics and prepare detailed plans for the construction of safe and efficient roadways and highways based on applicable design criteria and specifications
Prepare engineering reports and contract documents
Work with and learn from experienced Roadway Engineers and Project Managers
Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers in other transportation disciplines including Structures, Drainage, and Traffic
Provide engineering support for projects in construction
Assist with the development of marketing and project pursuit materials
Required Skills & Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
2+ years of relevant experience working on FDOT or similar public agency projects
EI or EIT license or the commitment to obtain within one year
Knowledge of FDOT roadway design criteria and roadway plans production processes
Proficiency with Bentley Open Roads Designer
Ability to manage multiple projects and complete work in a timely fashion to meet project schedules
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Strong desire to learn and be a key contributor to an outstanding team of industry-leading professionals
