The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mine Trainee to learn how to perform any production job in the mine safely. This is a rotating shift position is located at Fletcher Underground in Centerville, MO. The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. 0-6 months of work experience Ability to obtain ATF clearance. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Learn how to work safely in the mine environment. Demonstrated ability to be productive and maintain quality standards. Learn how to operate mobile and stationary equipment. Learn to use hand tools. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instruction. Responsibilities: Safely and efficiently hand scale or mechanically scale mine back and roof bolt, as needed Crush ore and run skip pocket as needed Gain a general knowledge of the mining cycle, including drilling, blasting, and mucking. Perform associated support jobs such as, transportation of explosives, operating a forklift, and preventative maintenance. Learn basic maintenance, equipment cleaning, and underground housekeeping tasks needed to perform efficiently in the mine environment. Conduct a pre-shift and work area inspection to ensure the work location and the equipment are safe and functioning properly. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment, Physical and Lifting: Regularly works underground and is exposed to moving, mechanical parts. Frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions, and works at heights of four feet or more, with fall protection. May work in confined spaces.
