Dow has an exciting part-time cooperative education job opportunity available in Auburn, MI. This position is open to qualified and highly-committed college students enrolled in a fully accredited college or university located close to the Auburn Dow site. Unlike a short-term internship project outside of school terms, this particular role is a long-term, year-round, undergraduate student position -- at least one full year in duration -- while the student is simultaneously taking classes toward an undergraduate degree. This opportunity offers the student valuable professional work experience in a dynamic, multi-national corporation interfacing with colleagues and leaders in many different roles. Job Purpose
The position exists to provide support for the Technical Service organization (Digital support) in Dow Consumer Solutions.
Key Job Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Respond to customer inquiries digitally (mostly e-mail, may include chat or phone), provide existing documents and technical data on Dow products.
* Refer customers to the appropriate Dow's authorized distributors.
* Support improvement of web content on dow.com for positive customer web experience and self-service for technical Information.
* May support corporate digital initiatives: create and review documents, videos, FAQs; design and test chat services and artificial intelligence-driven chat bots; build and run reports and dashboards on different platforms to enable data-driven decision making.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
* There is no required course of study for this position, but students pursuing Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science or related field majors may be the best fit for this position. Student should have completed at least 1 semester of college study.
* Student must be able to deliver quality work, pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, and follow through on details to completion.
* Student must be efficient and productive and be able to keep up with deadlines committed to.
* Student must have good communication skills, both written and oral, and be very customer focused.
* Student should be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done, ask for clarification or additional instruction when needed, and be able to work independently as well as cooperatively with the team.

Critical Requirements of the Local Student Co-Op Program
* Must be 18 or older
* Must live within 50 miles of the Dow site
* High school diploma/GED and already enrolled at an accredited college or university located close to the Auburn Dow site, pursuing an undergraduate degree.
* Successfully complete a minimum of 6 credit hours per term during both the Fall and Winter terms (~Sept-Apr).
* Seeking high performing student with strong GPAs of 3.000+ preferred
* Able to begin work very soon, usually within 3 weeks of the job offer, and work year-round at least 16 hours each week during our regular business hours (7:30am-5:30pm, Mon-Fri, max 8 hours/day and 30/week during school).
* Commit to the role for at least 1 full calendar year (BEFORE completing classes for your stated undergraduate degree or BEFORE transferring out of the area). Students available longer than one year before completing their degree program are preferred and advantaged.
* Reliable attendance and punctuality in commuting to work daily or at least 3 days a week; therefore, dependable transportation, dedication and time management skills are absolutely required.
* Registered/enrolled in their school's Cooperative Education Program before the first day at Dow and comply with the school's policies/requirements, in addition to Dow's, for the duration of co-op employment.
* Any current Dow college co-ops wishing to transfer into this role must have been in their current role at least one full year, must have at least one full year left before graduating or transferring out of the area, and must have supervisor approval before applying to each Dow co-op job posting.
Candidates who receive a job offer will be required to pass a background check and drug screen/medical evaluation and will verify school-related requirements and I-9 documentation before being hired into Dow.

Our site located in Midland, MI is hiring immediately for entry level Material Handler roles.
As a material handler you will be responsible for the safe and timely reception, loading, transport, and storage of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies. The DuPont Healthcare Industries Materials Site produces products for use in the Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, Medical, and Cosmetic Industries. The site has been in continuous operation since 1964, dedicated to Healthcare products. Our products are distributed globally and are recognized as World Class for quality.
The Laboratory is staffed 12 hours per day, 365 days per year, excluding some holidays or other site shutdown events. The lab is staffed in a 2-3-2 non-rotating 12-hour shift schedule. The Lab Testers are on-call for in-process testing during the off-shift.

Ion Exchange Resins are primarily used for water purification, food & beverage processing, and pharmaceuticals manufacturing. These resins are also heavily used in power generation facilities that supply electrical power to consumers around the world. The Millwright Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of process and rotating equipment used in industrial processing. The mechanical equipment may include ANSI pumps, various types of compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, mixers, extruders, glass lined vessels, and agitators. S/he must be comfortable performing hands-on field work to determine cause of equipment failure, locate spare parts, and install spare parts using repair procedures and machinist techniques for alignment. S/he must also be competent in the use of the maintenance tools to include measuring tools such as inside/outside micrometers, depth gauges, etc., for shaft to shaft alignment. Procedure use - this includes field use, review, revise, and development of procedures.
As a Millwright Mechanic/Pipe Fitter, you will:
Perform safe maintenance to rotating equipment, including: pumps, compressors, ventilation, agitators, seals, hoists, etc.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to glass lined steel equipment
Bolt/unbolt piping and equipment, perform proper torque and gasketing techniques
Interprets isometric drawings, P&IDs, schematics and equipment drawings related to pumps, valves, agitators and motors.
Dismantle equipment when required for repair or transportation and reassemble it at the appropriate time
Move equipment to appropriate site for repair or maintenance to avoid contamination or workplace safety hazards
Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation
Perform basic fabrication and welding for machine guarding and pipe hangers
Perform some simple rigging tasks
Assemble and installs equipment such as shafting, and conveyors
Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and fork trucks.
Perform laser alignment on rotating equipment
Fabricate, install or replace piping/tubing systems for a variety of operations including building/site steam and condensate, air and nitrogen supplies, RO/DI water, low and high pressure reactor systems, metallic and lined process piping systems, cylinder gas manifolds and delivery systems, etc.
Cut, threads, and deburrs pipe with hand and powered threading machines. Works with black iron pipe and stainless steel.
Perform quality assurance self-inspections to ensure work is within specifications and tolerances.
Work at heights in a boom or scissor type lifts.
Work with copper and stainless tubing, bending and fabricating as needed.
Secure piping with hangers, clamps and brackets to concrete or structural steel

Job Qualification

The Work Activity Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities for DuPont and Contractor (preventative maintenance, maintenance repair, change of designs, and projects) are completed in a safe (Site Policies and Procedures / S39G) and efficient manner within their respective areas.

Work with plant Activity Coordinators to ensure work permits are issued in a timely manner for crafts to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Review all safety incidents for awareness and talk through any abnormal work activities.
Be the primary contact for Dupont maintenance needs and manage allocation of Craft resources for leveraging/work reallocation when needed.
If/When emergent work arises, determine if work requested meets the emergency work definition. Follow up with area Activity Coordinator if it is not an emergency so that it can be reclassified in SAP for future scheduling.
If/When emergent work arises, coordinate staffing to meet area needs and communicate with Site Scheduler and area Activity Coordinators for any necessary adjustments/impact to maintenance or operations schedule.
Coach Dupont Direct and embedded Crafts if work and/or documentation (Job Book- and job-related paperwork) is not completed in a satisfactory manner. If unsatisfactory behavior continues, escalate situation to DuPont Maintenance Resource Leader for proper administrative resolution.
Responsible for maintenance shop upkeep (housekeeping, consumable inventory stocked, etc)
Drive continuous improvement efforts with DuPont maintenance and reliability resources.
Individual will spend approximately 50%-75% of their time in office/meeting environment and 25%-50% or their time in the field (operations area). Role will be required to be familiar with all site procedures, area procedures, and general knowledge of process safety requirements in respective areas.

The role interfaces with the entire Rail Logistics organization, Customer Service, Planning, Site Logistics and Dow logistics vendors. Responsibilities
+ Perform duties associated with rail EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), billing error correction, goods issue processing and creation of border crossing documents for shipments from major US Sites utilizing SAP.
+ Manage railcar weight information in SAP, ensuring accuracy for rail billing requirements
+ Subject matter expert and escalation point on railcar issues such as billing, special service requests, service delays and service improvement initiatives with Dow businesses and JVs.
+ Provide training and regular coaching to Rail Service Team members on day to day operations including the rail tools and work process training and documentation.

+ Responsible for reviewing assigned exception reports for North American rail car shipments and work on resolution for those cars requiring intervention.
+ Responsible for GVP data integrity relative to all facets of rail service, including shipment and trip info.

+ Manage all rail related QN's, derailments, damaged car reports and safety incidents.

About you and this role - What you would do in this role
Dow has exciting opportunities for Intern Graduate PhD Scientists who are interested in a career in Research and Development. Opportunities exist across the R&D function and are aligned with various organizations and business units in a variety of locations including Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania and other locations in North America.
We are seeking candidates who have expertise in one or more of the following areas: chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, polymer science, theoretical modeling, mechanical engineering, data science as well as other dimensions of chemical or materials sciences. You will work with project teams to solve chemical- and material-related problems through both fundamental and applied research. The types of projects span from product research to process research to application development. Examples include new molecule or material synthesis, process scale-up, reaction engineering and study and application of structure-property relationships to new product development. The specific opportunities including project type, geography and timing are variable.

Qualifications - Required education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves).
* Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Data Science, or other related disciplines.
* A minimum GPA of 2.700 (on a scale of 4.000) is preferred.
* Reliable attendance is an expectation of every Dow employee, therefore reliable transportation is required.

ABOUT OPERATIONS: The Operations function within Dow is comprised of four unique focus areas that translate business strategies into operations priorities and results. The focus areas are Manufacturing, Technical Expertise & Support (TES), Environmental, Health, & Safety Operations (EH&S), and Emergency Services, & Security (ES&S).

You will fill one of several technical resource roles where you will provide technical support to plant operating personnel to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities may include such items as manufacturing process troubleshooting and problem solving, preventive maintenance, yield and process improvements, waste reduction, safety enhancements, process control, cost optimization, project management and implementation, equipment design, and new technology implementation.
Mechanical Engineer
(Key Roles: Production, Hardware Design, Maintenance/Reliability, Project Controls, or Improvement Engineer)
You will fill one of several technical resource roles where you will provide technical support to plant operating personnel to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities may include providing technical expertise in areas such as maintenance & reliability as well as production operations and project engineering. Electrical Engineer
(Key Roles: Production, Hardware Design, Maintenance/Reliability, Project Controls, or Improvement Engineer)
You will fill one of several technical resource roles where you will provide technical support to plant operating personnel to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities may include providing technical expertise in areas such as maintenance & reliability as well as power plant production operations and project engineering. Responsibilities may range from power plant operations, process improvements, predictive maintenance, failure analysis, and MCC/transformer/switchgear design to electrical instrumentation troubleshooting and problem solving, preventive maintenance, process improvements, safety enhancements, motor control, cost optimization, project management and implementation, equipment design, and new technology implementation.
Civil Engineer
(Key Roles: Project Controls or Hardware Design Engineer)
Responsibilities may include project work ranging in size from small plant improvements to design of large new facilities. The civil engineer applies expertise to concrete, structural steel, and site development plans while collaborating with a team of civil engineers and designers to coordinate with other design disciplines, such as construction, procurement, project management, project engineering, project controls, process engineering, and process automation, to successfully complete the design of the civil portion of work for capital projects.
Material Science / Metallurgical Engineer
(Key Roles: Maintenance Engineer or Hardware Design Engineer)
Responsibilities may include work ranging in size from small plant material of construction improvements to the metallurgical design of large new facilities. The Material Science/Metallurgical engineer applies expertise in material science to collaborate with facility teams and designers. This engineer also coordinates with other design disciplines, such as construction, procurement, project management, project engineering, project controls, and process engineering to successfully complete the selection of the most effective materials for projects and daily maintenance.
Other Skills-Based Roles are also available to engineers of all types. A few examples of these roles:
* Dow's Operations Information Technology/Operations Technology (IT/OT) group is working to deliver a competitive advantage through the use of digital technology.
* The Digital Operations Center (DOC) is delivering digitalization through advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies to significantly improve the safety, reliability, sustainability and profitability of the Dow
* Process Automation/Controls Engineers optimize and automate Dow's chemical processes to improve efficiency and reliability and ensure consistent product quality.
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Material Science / Metallurgical Engineering.
* A Graduation date of no later than September 2025.
* A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A preferred GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) at your current university
* Enrolled in an ABET accredited program
Contingencies:

This pay range is specific to the State of Illinois and accounts for both new and experienced employees with consideration to factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, and sustained job performance (or similar jobs).
A reasonable pay range for this position based on Bachelor's Degree: $86,700 - $90,203/Annually.
A reasonable pay range for this position based on Master's Degree: $90,400 - $94,052/Annually.
