The Gas Design Technician (GDT) supports PGS distribution system construction and maintenance projects. Minimum of four (4) years of work experience related to the Duties and Responsibilities of this position is required. Related experience consists of work related to the items described below: A college degree from an accredited institution may be considered in lieu of some work experience. The ability to effectively meet and assist customers in making technical decisions that pertain to the project, and conduct needs and feasibility assessments on new construction projects and load additions determining the schedule and required completion dates. Knowledge and understanding of past land use and/or utility accommodation guide agreements. Knowledge and/or proficiency with utility industry software including, but not limited to: work management systems, GIS, Customer Information Systems (CIS), etc. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Works under direct supervision on somewhat varied duties requiring judgment or simple analysis to determine course of action with limited latitude. At this level, the GDT plans and coordinates the design and installation of gas distribution facilities, as well as maintains records and maps of the gas distribution system to meet company, state, and federal compliance regulations. Meets with internal and external customers and/or their agents (“customers”) to conduct needs and feasibility assessments on new construction projects and load additions, and to determine the schedule and required completion dates (“targeted schedule dates”) of different construction phases. Represents customers in construction update meetings with various PGS departments, municipalities, FDOT, and others. Manages communication with all involved entities concerning any upgrades in the construction schedule or other changes with potential impact, documenting updates through letters and emails, as necessary. Coordinates the construction activities between all the departments involved in the facility installation process within PGS. Creates and/or processes Work Order (WO) and Construction requests in PowerPlant and/or a Work ManagementWorkflow database system. Performs feasibility and load analysis to determine the most efficient, economical and reliable solutions for customers and the PGS distribution system. Estimates the gas loads and pressure delivery for customers and determines actual or proposed field measurements. Models these conditions in the appropriate software applications (Synergee/Stoner) to determine optimal system design to meet customers' needs while ensuring all results are compliant with system integrity and respective regulatory requirements. Uses PGS's geographical information system (GIS) and other CAD software packages to draw the proposed and existing gas distribution facilities (company assets), as well as maintains, updates, and optimizes the GIS platform in conformance to company standards, and federal and state guidelines. Produces, coordinates, and/or oversees the production of construction plans, easement agreements, right-of-way permit drawings, project charters, and Gantt charts, for Distribution Operations, Real Estate and/or Contractors: Verifies locations of PGS's existing and proposed facilities and any third parties' infrastructures (water, sewer, storm, electric, telephone, and cable lines) are adequately identified on the construction prints, and all installation specifications are captured. Based on the scope of construction and company safety standards, determines necessity and scale of the Maintenance-of-Traffic (MOT) plan that Operations and/or contractors will need for completing work in the right-of-way. Produce construction cost estimates (including labor, materials, and equipment) and obtains/calculates projected four-year revenue (MACC) as needed. Determines and communicates the need for Construction Deposits and/or Contribution-in-Aid-of-Construction (CIAC) charges based on PGS revenue shortage/excess costs in the following situations: Estimates PGS construction costs relative to the projected four-year PGS revenue for the project. Tracks and reviews Construction Deposit activity as prescribed within tariff guidelines. In support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, review financial data in PowerPlant related to Engineering, Field Construction and Operations construction and maintenance activities. Verified activities are coded to the correct classification and charged to the appropriate accounts (Capital vs. O&M). Assist in the preparation of annual Capital and O&M budgets with its correspondent development of monthly forecasts. Monitors, reviews, and processes contractor's contracts for Engineering, Construction, Mapping, and other activities inclusive of bid packages, purchase requisition, material worksheets, invoices (inclusive of validation and reconciliation), As-builds, GPS data points, etc., necessary in the satisfactory completion of said projects in support of Capital and O&M activities.     Title: Admin Specialist II (Technical Trainer - Gas) Company: Peoples Gas System State and City: Florida - Tampa Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days WHAT YOU'LL DO Under limited supervision perform standard but diversified general office duties requiring some knowledge of the unit's operation and company procedures. This position is located in Palm River's Training Department. Advancement to this level is based on the business needs of the department. Advancement is not automatic, i.e., based solely on time in the job, but will be based on the employee's performance, qualifications, and the technical needs of the department. A Microsoft Assessment may be provided to gage level of proficiency. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Performs a combination of the following: Communicate with internal and external customers: Respond to general inquires and telephone calls by researching information and taking detailed messages, respond to escalated customer service complaints and works with the customer for a successful resolution, review and answer routine correspondence. General Data Maintenance and Reporting: Create and maintain basic charts, graphs, spreadsheets and databases. Prepare summary information for manager's review. Assists employees with their P-Card statements and ensures all required documentation is attached and submits to local management for approval. Creates purchase requisitions and enters information into project database (Powerplant), ensuring accuracy of pipe charges. Gas Account and Gas Facility Research and Administration: Handles requests for demolitions, signs off on demolition permits and arranges for an account to be cut and capped. Responds to and researches requests for easements and rights-of-way. Conducts periodic audit of accounts. Corrects errors in a customer's gas usage and adjusts accounts arranging for a corrected bill to be mailed. Maintains as-built received from Contractors for entry into Mapping System. Processes General Service Agreements and creates job orders and premises for new account. Processes energy conservation rebates. Customer Information and Order System Research, Tracking and Scheduling: Researches, updates and maintains a variety of customer information, service order, work order and compliance systems. This may include scheduling and tracking compliance or collections related service or inspection orders as well consolidating customer payments received at the local Division. May also serve as appoint of contact for field personnel. Able to assist with certain functions of a Work Coordinator by answering call center calls, routing leak calls and distributing and scheduling workload to the appropriate field technicians as needed with the support of the Work Coordinator. Maintain files record keeping activities and confidential data. Perform additional duties and responsibilities and assist other personnel as needed. What We're Looking For Must Haves: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of administrative and/or customer service experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this position. The Energy Authority (TEA) is seeking a Principal Advisor, Midcontinent Markets to ensure TEA's position as a recognized thought-leader and trusted service provider for advanced market solutions in the midcontinent, with emphasis on the Southwest Power Pool. This role is responsible for providing TEA and its clients with policy advisory, advocacy, analysis, and representation services on existing and developing regional energy, ancillaries, congestion, capacity, transmission, and carbon markets. The Principal Advisor will also support Account Directors and the Chief Client Officer in business development activities, which include identifying and engaging new prospects for business development both within TEA's existing client base and with new clients, providing subject matter expertise, and collecting/disseminating market intelligence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Policy Analysis and Advocacy Provide policy advisory, advocacy, analysis, and representation services for TEA and our clients on the following: Existing and developing energy market structures such as the Southwest Power Pool Integrated Marketplace, Southwest Power Pool RTO Expansion, and/or the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (a.k.a., the SPP IM, SPP RTOE, MISO). Existing and developing markets and associated regulatory requirements, rulemaking, and structures related to carbon and greenhouse gas emissions of electric utilities. Emerging and developing structures and programs related to regional resource adequacy for electric utilities such as the Southwest Power Pool, Western Resource Adequacy Program and Midcontinent Independent System Operator. Support TEA's Director of Portfolio Management, ensuring that TEA's portfolio management services meet the evolving needs of clients in regional energy, ancillaries, congestion, capacity, transmission, and carbon markets. Actively engage in ongoing client education concerning regional energy and carbon markets. Business Development Support Account Directors and the Chief Client Officer in recommending new services that lower TEA's cost of service to its members. Support Account Directors and the Chief Client Officer by participating in efforts to create marketing materials for specific offerings and presenting to clients. Collect and disseminate market intelligence that helps inform TEA's marketing initiatives to prospective clients. Provide subject matter expertise to TEA's business development efforts including assistance with trade shows, supporting development of promotion and educational materials, writing white papers, speaking at industry events, etc. Leadership Help identify TEA throughout midcontinent as an expert on regional markets. Serve as a vocal ambassador of TEA and TEA's clients via physical or virtual presence during midcontinent stakeholder meetings. Provide written executive summaries and detailed notes from respective stakeholder meetings to TEA and TEA clients. Provide regional markets subject matter expertise as a member of client portfolio management teams, including supporting TEA's Trading and Analytics groups in updating long-term and short-term trading portfolio management strategies to help meet client goals. Assist with the development and implementation of TEA's strategic plan in midcontinent as it relates to regional energy, ancillaries, congestion, capacity, transmission, and carbon markets. Other Responsible for regular travel to client sites and industry events to establish, support, and maintain client and business development relationships. Develops and applies advanced analytics, statistics, machine learning and domain-specific knowledge to transform complex utility data (smart meter, grid operational, geospatial and imagery) into actionable insights. Coordinates closely with the Manager, Asset Management Distribution to identify grid performance risks and advise on proactive mitigation of equipment, system and operational failures ensuring safety, compliance, reliability, performance, affordability and resilience of the electric grid. Develops the vision for grid analytics to provide comprehensive grid performance insights which bridge data engineering, operations, system planning, maintenance, engineering and other grid functions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the development, implementation and operation of Analytics to monitor grid performance. These analytics support the prioritization of maintenance in distribution grid and measurement of the impact of maintenance, track prioritized backlog of grid maintenance, capital improvement and operational improvements for stakeholders. Lead the vision for analytics in the new Grid Diagnostic center collaborating closely with Technology (information and operational technology) department to develop data pipelines and architectures that support the acquisition, storage, and processing of large-scale grid data (e.g., SCADA, AMI, LiDAR, thermography, weather). This includes the geospatial acquisition of asset condition from patrols, Remote Sensing, the collection, processing and the application of Analytics on this data to inform work and operational changes. Lead the development of the analytics functions for Distribution grid models.
