About The TEAm In this role, you will support company and departmental goals related to assessing, monitoring, and reporting TEA's exposure to market, credit, regulatory, and operational risks and limits. You will assist in evaluating and managing TEA's exposure to credit, counterparty, and performance risks through the development and implementation of measurements and limit structures aligned with TEA and Client risk tolerances. This position also provides critical support to the Director of Credit and Risk Control and the VP of Risk Control across all risk-related activities. About The Role This analyst position is less focused on daily controls and more centered on project-driven work requiring analytical thinking, logic, awareness, problem-solving skills, and big-picture perspective. You will be expected to understand TEA's controls framework and the credit risks affecting both TEA and its Clients operating within the wholesale energy markets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain an understanding of the energy industry and mega-trends related to market, operational, regulatory, and credit developments. Understand new products and how to protect TEA and its Clients from unwanted product risk. Stay current on counterparty news and distribute relevant updates as needed. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Risk Reporting and Financial Models used to measure and model exposure and exposure uncertainty within TEA and Client reporting frameworks, including: Margin at Risk, CER/PFE, CVaR Cross Commodity Reports Mark-to-Market Credit Reports Demonstrate strong understanding of credit analytics, including financial statement spreading and analysis. Create limit structures aligned with credit risk exposures and stakeholder risk tolerances. Maintain a deep familiarity with TEA and Client risk limit frameworks and Risk Policies. Ensure compliance with Risk and Credit policies and procedures. Investigate, document, and report Risk Policy violations-including discussing violations directly with the violator. Suggest and implement process improvements for TEA and its Clients. Provide excellent customer service across all areas of TEA; maintain high visibility within the organization and interface with all levels of management. Build strong working relationships with marketing, operations, legal, accounting, and IT to support accurate and relevant information sharing. Assist the Director of Credit and Risk Control as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university required; major in a technical or business-related discipline highly preferred. Advanced degree is a plus. Minimum of five years of related experience preferred. At this level, the GDT plans and coordinates the design and installation of gas distribution facilities, as well as maintains records and maps of the gas distribution system to meet company, state, and federal compliance regulations. Meets with internal and external customers and/or their agents (“customers”) to conduct needs and feasibility assessments on new construction projects and load additions, and to determine the schedule and required completion dates (“targeted schedule dates”) of different construction phases. Represents customers in construction update meetings with various PGS departments, municipalities, FDOT, and others. Manages communication with all involved entities concerning any upgrades in the construction schedule or other changes with potential impact, documenting updates through letters and emails, as necessary. Coordinates the construction activities between all the departments involved in the facility installation process within PGS. Creates and/or processes Work Order (WO) and Construction requests in PowerPlant and/or a Work ManagementWorkflow database system. Performs feasibility and load analysis to determine the most efficient, economical and reliable solutions for customers and the PGS distribution system. Estimates the gas loads and pressure delivery for customers and determines actual or proposed field measurements. Models these conditions in the appropriate software applications (Synergee/Stoner) to determine optimal system design to meet customers' needs while ensuring all results are compliant with system integrity and respective regulatory requirements. Uses PGS's geographical information system (GIS) and other CAD software packages to draw the proposed and existing gas distribution facilities (company assets), as well as maintains, updates, and optimizes the GIS platform in conformance to company standards, and federal and state guidelines. Produces, coordinates, and/or oversees the production of construction plans, easement agreements, right-of-way permit drawings, project charters, and Gantt charts, for Distribution Operations, Real Estate and/or Contractors: Verifies locations of PGS's existing and proposed facilities and any third parties' infrastructures (water, sewer, storm, electric, telephone, and cable lines) are adequately identified on the construction prints, and all installation specifications are captured. Based on the scope of construction and company safety standards, determines necessity and scale of the Maintenance-of-Traffic (MOT) plan that Operations and/or contractors will need for completing work in the right-of-way. Produce construction cost estimates (including labor, materials, and equipment) and obtains/calculates projected four-year revenue (MACC) as needed. Determines and communicates the need for Construction Deposits and/or Contribution-in-Aid-of-Construction (CIAC) charges based on PGS revenue shortage/excess costs in the following situations: Estimates PGS construction costs relative to the projected four-year PGS revenue for the project. Tracks and reviews Construction Deposit activity as prescribed within tariff guidelines. In support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, review financial data in PowerPlant related to Engineering, Field Construction and Operations construction and maintenance activities. Verified activities are coded to the correct classification and charged to the appropriate accounts (Capital vs. O&M). Assist in the preparation of annual Capital and O&M budgets with its correspondent development of monthly forecasts. Monitors, reviews, and processes contractor's contracts for Engineering, Construction, Mapping, and other activities inclusive of bid packages, purchase requisition, material worksheets, invoices (inclusive of validation and reconciliation), As-builds, GPS data points, etc., necessary in the satisfactory completion of said projects in support of Capital and O&M activities. Lead the vision for analytics in the new Grid Diagnostic center collaborating closely with Technology (information and operational technology) department to develop data pipelines and architectures that support the acquisition, storage, and processing of large-scale grid data (e.g., SCADA, AMI, LiDAR, thermography, weather). This includes the geospatial acquisition of asset condition from patrols, Remote Sensing, the collection, processing and the application of Analytics on this data to inform work and operational changes. Lead the development of the analytics functions for Distribution grid models. This includes coordination with other electric system modeling stakeholders (Planning, DCC, DEO and others) to represent (computer model) the design/expected performance of the electric grid. The Sensing function is the establishment of requirements and the development of Sensing systems to measure the performance of the grid. This includes the communication, networking, storage and Analytics required to visualize the performance of the electric grid. Lead development of analytics for the support of Storm operations. This is a multi-year, multi-department roadmap to develop an improved estimation of expected damage, tracking of actual damage and outages in the grid, optimization of restoration, tracking of resources supporting restoration. Help define and execute the diagnostic center's data strategy, integrating statistical analysis and predictive modeling into grid reliability programs. Communicate and present to data science and utility operations teams, ensuring analytical outputs directly support operational objectives and reliability standards. Communicate findings and recommendations to grid owner/operators, senior leadership, regulatory stakeholders, aligning data-driven insights with business goals. Mentor others and foster a collaborative environment focused on innovation and technical rigor. SUPERVISION Indirect Supervision: May have indirect supervision of project and System governance teams. RELATIONSHIPS Key Internal: Asset Management, AAOS, DEO, DCC, ECC, Substation, Transmission operations and engineering (VP, directors, managers and program leads). Works with IT business relationship manager to prioritize a system portfolio roadmap and coordinate execution of the projects. IT and ES technical leads to develop and implement an effective technology plan. Key External: Consultants (Solution implementers, etc.), Contractors, Industry Associations, Vendors QUALIFICATIONS Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics. Preferred: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in data science, statistics, engineering and/or information systems representing a blend of data science and ability to apply data science to understand electric grid performance. Graduate course work in Machine Learning/AI, predictive modeling, time-series forecasting, power system reliability or risk analysis. Licenses/Certifications Preferred: Certified Analytics Professional, ESRI GIS Certification, Python for Data Science, Reliability related certification, etc. Experience Required: 7 years of progressive work experience data science, analytics, machine learning engineering, with at least 2 years in the utility, energy or related sector. Preferred: Electric utility engineering and operational, distribution grid asset experience with experience applying data science, analytics with interdisciplinary team of engineers, field operators and Information Technology teams. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Required: Broad knowledge and skills in Analytics and IT/OT system solutions (see preferred below) and a problem-solving mindset with a focus on actionable outcomes. Theability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across operations, engineering and regulatory teams. Preferred: Knowledge of the following: Programming: Phyton, R, SQL. Tools/Platforms: Databricks, Azure, Snowflake. Data Handling: Extraction, Loading and Transformation (ETL), large dataset manipulation, cloud storage and processing, APIs. Visualization: Power BI, ESRI Geospatial Analysis Knowledge of statistical models (e.g., regression, time series forecasting, survival analysis, Bayesian methods) to detect patterns, estimate probabilities of failure, and quantify uncertainty in grid performance. Development of digital twins and grid simulations, using statistical models to calibrate, validate, and interpret electric grid behavior. Ability to apply hypothesis testing, anomaly detection, and probabilistic risk assessment techniques to evaluate system behavior and identify emerging reliability threats. Ability and strong knowledge of machine learning models (e.g., random forests, neural networks, gradient boosting) that complement statistical analysis for high-dimensional, multi-source grid data such as 3D LiDAR point cloud data and imagery. Ability to lead the design of model validation frameworks, ensuring robust, interpretable, and auditable outputs for operational decision-making. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment.
