GTM Recruiter
Kaizen Labs 4.0
New York, NY job
Who Are We?
Have you struggled to reserve that coveted summer camping spot at a state park? Wondered why you're still filling out a paper form at the DMV? Or tried (and failed) to book your favorite pickleball court from your phone?
Kaizen Labs is rebuilding the government's digital front door - bringing modern, people-first software to the public services millions of Americans rely on every day. From parks & recreation and permitting to licensing and payments, we're replacing outdated systems with intuitive, beautiful technology designed for residents and the public servants who serve them.
Our platform now powers over 50 agencies across 17 states, reaching more than 40 million residents. Recent partners include Maricopa County (AZ), San Bernardino County (CA), and the Cherokee Nation. In Maryland, our platform helped eliminate seven-mile traffic jams at state parks, saving hundreds of thousands in costs and dramatically improving the visitor experience.
Founded in 2022 and based in New York City, Kaizen has raised $35 million from world-class investors, including NEA, Andreessen Horowitz, Accel, 776, and Carpenter Capital.
We're a team of builders, designers, and operators redefining what it means to serve the public in the digital age - and we're just getting started.
Location
This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City HQ. Candidates must be able to commute to New York City and work from our office at least three times per week (Tuesday-Thursday). Applications from candidates unable to meet this requirement will not be considered.
The Role
Kaizen is entering an exciting growth phase following our Series A, and we're looking for a GTM Recruiter to join as the second recruiter on the team. In this role, you'll work closely with our Recruiting Lead to support and execute full-cycle hiring across our GTM functions. You'll own recruiting for roles across sales, finance, and business operations - managing sourcing, pipelines, and interview coordination end-to-end, while partnering closely with hiring managers to keep processes moving efficiently and candidates engaged. This role is highly hands-on and ideal for a recruiter who's excited to take on more ownership, deepen their craft, and make a visible impact in a fast-growing environment.
What You'll Do
Own full-lifecycle recruiting for GTM roles, including Sales, Finance, Biz Ops, and related functions.
Lead proactive sourcing efforts, building diverse, high-quality pipelines using LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, Juicebox, and other tools.
Manage interview scheduling and coordination, serving as the primary point of contact for candidates and interviewers.
Partner closely with hiring managers to align on role requirements, hiring priorities, and timelines.
Track and communicate pipeline health, hiring progress, and key recruiting metrics.
Ensure candidates receive a first-class, white-glove experience from first touchpoint through offer.
Identify opportunities to improve and automate recruiting workflows as we scale.
What We're Looking For
3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally at a startup or high-growth tech company.
Proven ability to source top-tier GTM talent, with a strong track record of building and managing pipelines.
Experience using an ATS such as Ashby (strong plus), and comfort working across modern recruiting tools and systems.
Highly organized and skilled at managing multiple priorities and searches simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong partner to hiring managers - able to drive alignment, momentum, and accountability throughout the hiring process.
Excellent communicator who keeps candidates and stakeholders informed and engaged at every stage.
A proactive, solutions-oriented recruiter who takes ownership and keeps hiring processes running smoothly.
Someone who leads with empathy, professionalism, and care in all candidate interactions.
Base Salary $100k - 130k

Head of Sales
Before You Apply…
Kaizen is hiring its first sales leader. We're looking for a proven SLED leader who's equally excited about being in the weeds with our team and customers as they are about building scalable sales processes and growing the team. The ideal candidate should be excited to collaborate closely with the founders to expand upon an existing playbook and should feel energized by the potential to expand Kaizen across other verticals in government.
Location
This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City HQ. Candidates must reside in New York or be able to commute to New York City to work out of our office at least three times a week (Tuesdays - Thursdays).
Who You Are
You're an experienced, proven sales leader with SLED experience. You've helped teams navigate enterprise, public-sector sales cycles at the local, state, and federal levels.
You've led field sales motions for software that requires you to meet customers where they are, building deep trust and developing a deep understanding of government operations.
You've built and scaled a sales team. You know how to hire, coach, and retain enterprise sellers who thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
You're not looking to lead from an ivory tower. You lead by example - closing critical deals, rolling up your sleeves, and modeling the behaviors you expect from your team.
What You'll Do
Leadership and Team Building
Recruit, hire, and mentor a team of BDRs, AEs, and RFP specialists selling to various customer segments.
Build a high-performance culture defined by accountability, high autonomy/ownership, and proactivity.
Establish core processes for pipeline management, forecasting, and sales reporting.
Partner with the leadership team on compensation design, territory planning, and quota planning as the company scales.
Improve Win Rates
Dissect every part of our sales motion (top of funnel outreach, conferences and trade-show presence, pricing proposals, RFPs, procurement, etc.) to identify opportunities to increase conversion and shorten deal cycles.
Own and continuously evolve our sales methodologies, demo frameworks, top-of-funnel playbooks, and outbound strategy. This will require frequent collaboration with marketing and design to strategize on top-of-funnel strategies.
Spend critical time with customers (in-person and virtual) to refine Kaizen's value proposition and messaging.
Sales Infrastructure and Enablement
Redesign our sales tech stack, partnering closely with team members to remove friction, and leverage automation and AI to accelerate productivity.
Implement scalable CRM processes and team and IC reporting, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights.
Strategy & Planning
Partner with founders and leadership on sales forecasting, territory strategy, and GTM planning.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing on lead generation, ensuring consistency throughout our sales process.
Contribute to Kaizen's long-term vision by spearheading market expansion projects and identifying new geographies, customer segments, and verticals within government. Partner with leadership and design to build and test proofs of concept as part of the expansion strategy.
What You'll Bring
8+ years of experience in software sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role that involved growing and scaling a team
Depth of expertise and knowledge of selling to public agencies, procurement strategies, and field sales
Compensation: OTE is $450k - $500k, split 50/50

Location
This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City HQ. Candidates must reside in New York or be able to commute to New York City to work out of our office at least three times a week (Tuesdays - Thursdays).
The Role
As our Infrastructure Lead, you'll be laying the foundation for this mission - building the systems that ensure our platform is scalable, reliable, and compliant. You'll be the person who takes us from a scrappy early-stage setup to infrastructure that can power thousands of municipalities across the country. If you're excited about building modern infrastructure from the ground up and making a real-world impact, this role is for you.
You will be responsible for building and owning the infrastructure that underpins our platform - scaling, load testing, developer tooling, monitoring, and hosting support for customer environments (including high-compliance environments).
This is a highly technical role with leadership responsibility: ~80% hands-on engineering and ~20% people management. You'll collaborate closely with product teams to design robust developer tooling, consolidate our cloud footprint, and ensure our platform is reliable, secure, and ready to scale.
Technical Challenges Unique to This Role…
Building a modern infrastructure foundation from 0→1, starting at cloud provider setup, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes (not yet in place).
Scaling and load testing our systems as we expand to serve larger municipalities and compliance-heavy customers.
Owning observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry) to provide meaningful metrics, dashboards, and alerting.
Supporting isolated hosting environments for compliance requirements.
Creating developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, reliable, and safe deployments.
What You'll Do
Build and execute the infrastructure roadmap, defining priorities and driving adoption.
Own and consolidate our cloud footprint.
Manage infrastructure and observability tools (Datadog, Sentry, etc.) and expand their effectiveness.
Collaborate with product engineers to build scalable dev tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
Lead and mentor a small team while remaining a strong IC.
Ensure compliance-ready infrastructure for government and other highly regulated environments.
Make high-level architectural decisions to evolve our platform from early-stage infrastructure into enterprise-grade operations.
What You'll Bring
6+ years of infrastructure or DevOps engineering experience.
Proven experience building 0→1 cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP strongly preferred).
Proficiency with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes (or equivalent cloud-native tools).
Experience in high-compliance environments (government, healthcare, finance, or public companies).
Strong background in observability and monitoring (Datadog, Sentry, or similar).
Comfortable leading projects and/or teams, or owning complex infrastructure initiatives.
A “builder” mentality: you've walked into messy infra setups and transformed them into scalable, reliable systems.
Familiar with (or excited to learn about) integrating AI-assisted coding and problem-solving tools into everyday development.
Strong Candidates May Also...
Prior experience at an early-stage company where you were the first infra hire or helped scale a small infra team.
Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategies.
Base Salary is $180k - $220k

Deployment Strategist
Candidates must reside in New York or be able to commute to New York City to work out of our office at least three times a week (Tuesdays - Thursdays).
The Role
We're looking for a Deployment Strategist to lead complex SaaS implementations and customer onboardings for government partners across the country. In this role, you'll be the primary driver of successful launches - owning the end-to-end implementation journey from kickoff through go-live and beyond. You'll work closely with customer stakeholders while partnering deeply with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) to ensure our platform is configured, adopted, and scaled effectively.
This role sits at the intersection of implementation, product execution, and technical problem-solving. It's ideal for someone who has led enterprise or mid-market SaaS deployments, thrives in ambiguity, and enjoys translating real-world customer needs into durable product and process improvements.
Who You Are
You've led complex SaaS implementations or onboardings, acting as the quarterback for customers during high-stakes launches.
You're comfortable owning both strategy and execution - defining rollout plans, configuring systems, and jumping in to solve problems hands-on.
You can move fluently between technical details and business context, whether that means mapping data flows, explaining workflows, or aligning non-technical stakeholders.
You think beyond go-live, with a strong point of view on adoption, change management, and long-term customer success.
You bring structure to messy, ambiguous environments and enjoy building repeatable processes from scratch.
You're motivated by mission-driven work and believe modern software can meaningfully improve how public institutions serve communities.
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end implementations: Own the full deployment lifecycle - discovery, scoping, configuration, data migration, integrations, training, go-live, and post-launch support.
Drive successful customer onboardings: Partner with customers to ensure strong adoption, clear workflows, and operational readiness at launch.
Translate customer needs into product insights: Capture patterns, edge cases, and feedback from implementations and turn them into actionable input for Product and Engineering.
Unblock technical and operational challenges: Work cross-functionally with EPD, Sales, and Support to troubleshoot issues, clarify requirements, and keep launches on track.
Operate with urgency and empathy: Whether debugging a configuration issue or creating training materials, you'll do what it takes to support customers during critical moments.
Build scalable implementation systems: Contribute to playbooks, templates, internal tools, and documentation that make deployments faster, more predictable, and easier to scale.
Act as a trusted advisor: Guide public sector partners through change, helping them modernize workflows and rethink how services are delivered.
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in SaaS implementation, onboarding, solutions engineering, customer success, or product-adjacent roles (e.g., Implementation Consultant, Solutions Architect, Technical PM).
A proven track record of leading multi-stakeholder software rollouts, ideally in enterprise, public sector, healthcare, or other complex environments.
Technical fluency - comfortable working with APIs, data models, system configurations, or integrations (hands-on experience is a strong plus).
Experience translating customer requirements into implementation plans, technical workflows, or product requirements.
Strong communication skills across a wide range of audiences, from frontline users to executive stakeholders.
Familiarity with project management and delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Linear, Asana, Monday).
A bias toward action, ownership, and continuous improvement.
A builder's mindset, with excitement for improving internal processes, tooling, and documentation as the company scales.
Base Salary is $100k - $150k
