The Hartford's Middle and Large Commercial organization has an opening for a Managing Director for the Energy team. This individual should have a strong underwriting and leadership background. This position will be highly involved in establishing the business strategy and driving the team toward execution to contribute positively to the overall unit results.
The leader should have a proven record of successfully leading a diverse group of underwriters across multiple geographies. This position will work closely with the regional leadership team to foster a highly collaborative and engaged enterprise team. This leader will be responsible for engaging the enterprise to help develop broad solutions for preferred insureds and brokers. As such, they will be involved in current and emerging project assignments.
We are looking for a strong candidate who will drive Sales, Marketing, Profit, Growth, and Quality of the Energy Specialty Unit. The Managing Director leads the execution of the BU Strategic and Operating plans within local market territories through strong agency/territorial management and leading a high performance team focused on achievement, commitment and innovation, requiring a deep understanding of local market and competitors.
This position will be responsible for:
Sales/Territory Management
Build strong, distinctive strategic partnerships with key brokers
Develop and implement segment sales plans. Keen insight into competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and strategies to leverage for profitable business and increased agency penetration
Establishes and maintains active pipeline of new opportunities. Utilizes existing client and broker relationships to market The Hartford's offerings.
Fosters relationships with other divisions of The Hartford to collaborate and cross-sell to maximize advantage. Effectively cross-sells with and sources opportunities for other team members to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
Middle Market Underwriting Operations
Inspires team to achieve profit and growth objectives through risk selection, individual account pricing and segmentation, mix of business, flow of business and management of quality analysis for the team.

Leads assigned team in continued development of technical underwriting knowledge and strong sales acumen

Qualifications:
The candidate should be highly regarded for leadership capabilities; previous underwriting team management experience required, as well as the following:
•8+ years multi-line carrier underwriting experience in P&C Middle Market Energy required

Bond & Specialty Insurance provides management and professional liability insurance, as well as surety bonds to businesses and non-profit organizations of all sizes. This role is part of the Commercial Surety team which provides surety bonds for individuals and businesses of all sizes both domestically and internationally. + Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business primarily comprised of moderately to highly complex accounts.

Claims Product Management is looking for a software programmer to provide data extraction and transformation support for product managers and the projects they lead. This role will help drive product direction for our data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data movement services, focusing on enabling reliable data flow into our lakehouse and other data stores. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in data engineering and experience delivering scalable data platforms and data pipeline solutions.
Description
As a Product Manager for Data Ingestion and Movement, you will be responsible for supporting the product vision and execution for GEICO's data ingestion and movement products. To successfully shape a platform that enables pipeline-as-a-service and supports a scalable data mesh architecture, a strong technical understanding of data pipelines, data integration patterns, data orchestration, ETL/ELT processes, and platform engineering is essential. Your goal is to abstract complexity and empower domain teams to autonomously and efficiently build, deploy, and govern data pipelines. This role also requires stakeholder management skills and the ability to bridge technical solutions with business value.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and execution of data ingestion and movement platform vision aligned with business goals and customer needs
* Help create and maintain a clear, prioritized roadmap for data ingestion and movement capabilities that balances short-term delivery with long-term strategic objectives
* Support evangelizing the Data Ingestion and Movement platform across the organization and help drive stakeholder alignment
* Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape (Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow, etc.) to inform data ingestion strategy
* Support requirement gathering and product strategy for data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data movement services
* Understand end-to-end data ingestion workflows and how data movement fits into the broader data ecosystem and downstream analytics
* Support data governance initiatives for data lineage, quality, and compliance in data ingestion and movement processes
* Ensure data ingestion and movement processes adhere to regulatory, compliance, and data quality standards
* Partner with engineering on the development of data ingestion tools, pipeline orchestration services, and data movement capabilities
* Help define product capabilities for data ingestion, pipeline monitoring, error handling, and data quality validation to improve reliability and performance
* Support customer roadshows and training on data ingestion and movement capabilities
* Build instrumentation and observability into data ingestion and movement tools to enable data-driven product decisions and pipeline monitoring

Qualifications
Required
* Understanding of data ingestion patterns, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline architectures (Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, AWS Glue, etc.)
* Experience with data integration APIs, connectors, and data pipeline orchestration tools
* Basic understanding of data pipeline monitoring, observability, and data quality validation practices
* Experience in cloud data ecosystems (AWS, GCP, Azure)
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making
* Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps)
* Good communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
* Strong organizational skills with ability to manage product backlogs
Preferred
* Previous experience as a software or data engineer is a plus
* Strong business acumen to prioritize features based on customer value and business impact

Annual Salary
$88,150.00 - $157,850.00
