Technologist is registered in two different areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (overall) include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. * Explains process to patient, and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination. * Verifies that the prescription matches the procedure that is going to be performed; make changes in the billing code/exam title as needed. Record all signs and symptoms for the exam. * Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination. * Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test. * Keys exam data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of exam results. * Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced. * Operates equipment to produce images of internal organs and records diagnostic data in PAC system. This provides permanent record of examination. * Make sure to present any prior studies along with current studies to radiologist for diagnostic assessment. * Stock/Order supplies, make patient reminder calls, check ultrasound machine daily for any problems, and any other duties that may be assigned to you daily. * All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications / Education / Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Two or more registries through the ARDMS (RDMS) * Current CPR certification. * Minimum of one year of experience in a clinic or hospital setting * Knowledge of ultrasound procedures and protocols. * Knowledge of customer service concepts and clinic policies including safety, privacy and HIPAA regulations * Knowledge of quality care standards for ultrasound. * Knowledge of operating computer and accessing applicable RIS/PACS programs. * Skill in production of sonograms meeting physician expectations. * Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information. * Skill in performing quality exams and exercising compassion with patients. * Skill in completing job in a timely manner. * Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians and other staff. * Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, and management.

Other duties may be assigned as needed. • Explains process to patient, and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination. • Verifies that the prescription matches the procedure that is going to be performed; make changes in the billing code/exam title as needed. Record all signs and symptoms for the exam. • Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination. • Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test. • Keys exam data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of exam results. • Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced. • Operates equipment to produce images of internal organs and records diagnostic data in PAC system. This provides permanent record of examination. • Make sure to present any prior studies along with current studies to radiologist for diagnostic assessment. • Stock/Order supplies, make patient reminder calls, check ultrasound machine daily for any problems, and any other duties that may be assigned to you daily. • All other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications / Education / Experience:• High school diploma or equivalent. • Two or more registries through the ARDMS (RDMS)• Current CPR certification. • Minimum of one year of experience in a clinic or hospital setting• Knowledge of ultrasound procedures and protocols. • Knowledge of customer service concepts and clinic policies including safety, privacy and HIPAA regulations• Knowledge of quality care standards for ultrasound. • Knowledge of operating computer and accessing applicable RIS/PACS programs. • Skill in production of sonograms meeting physician expectations. • Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information. • Skill in performing quality exams and exercising compassion with patients. • Skill in completing job in a timely manner. • Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians and other staff. • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, and management.
