This position requires call and qualifies for competitive call differentials. A surgical technologist in this role will work as part of the surgical services and operating room teams in the Main OR. The individual will assist the surgical team during surgeries, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons during procedures, and maintain patient safety. Between surgeries, the individual will clean and restock the operating room. Throughout the day, precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are paramount in providing quality patient care.     * Up to a $7,500 Sign on Bonus Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Ortho Surgical First Assist to join our Surgical Services team on the Orthopedic Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville (Downtown). This full-time, day-shift role works four 10-hour shifts (6:30am-5:00pm). Orthopedic experience required. As a Ortho Surgical First Assist for the OR, your responsibilities include: * Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures. * These tasks include but are not limited to: * Preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon preference * Patient positioning * Provide visualizatoin of operative site * Utilizes techniques to provide hemostasis * Assist with body plan closure * Advanced skills as competency tested * Participate actively in the safe surgery checklist briefing and debriefing * Assists in turnover of operating room This Surgical First Assist - Orthopedics position is located at Baptist Jacksonville.
