Description: The Network Engineer plays a critical role in supporting a luxury retail brand operating in a fast-paced. This position is responsible for engineering, maintaining, and optimizing our enterprise network infrastructure across corporate offices, distribution centers, and 100+ retail locations nationwide. The Network Engineer ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of our network-spanning cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments-while enabling seamless store operations, customer experiences, and internal collaboration. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth hands-on technical expertise with modern networking tools and cloud technologies, complemented by strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with executives, field teams, and cross-functional leaders. We prefer the candidate to be near an Arhaus site location but are open to remote work for the right candidate. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Network Architecture, Deployment & Support Support and maintain a multi-site enterprise network using Cisco, Cisco Meraki, and Palo Alto technologies. Engineer and deploy solutions across LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, cloud, and hybrid environments. Configure and maintain routing and switching infrastructure, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, HSRP, ACLs, NAT, and QoS. Manage secure remote access technologies such as Cisco AnyConnect and site-to-site VPN. Implement network monitoring, SNMP, syslog, and performance. Security, Compliance & Reliability Strengthen network security posture through segmentation, firewall policies, and Zero-Trust principles. Ensure compliance with SOX controls, audit standards, and incident-response processes required in a publicly traded environment. Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, standards, runbooks, and change-management records. Cloud, Data Center & Retail Technology Integration Support and maintain Microsoft Azure network services, hybrid connectivity models, and cloud security configurations. Assist with deploying and maintaining technologies supporting new retail store openings, including switches, APs, POS connectivity, and low-voltage infrastructure. Collaborate with Security and Technology teams to deliver integrated, end-to-end connectivity and uptime across all business channels. Operational & Cross-Functional Support Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call rotations for critical systems support. Identify opportunities for network improvements, automation, and lifecycle modernization. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience. 4+ years of progressive hands-on experience in enterprise networking roles. Strong proficiency in packet-level troubleshooting and enterprise network design. Experience supporting multi-location environments. Experience with Palo Alto or similar enterprise firewall platforms. Hands-on experience with Azure networking (VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, firewalls, routing). Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the business, including executive leadership. Ability to support on-call rotation and occasional travel (up to 15%) to corporate, retail, and distribution locations. Ability to lift and install networking equipment as needed for store openings and infrastructure refreshes. This position requires experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. This position reports to the IT Manager and is an on-site position located in Redding, California. Primary Responsibilities: Configure and maintain the organization's internal computer network. Perform network design and capacity planning. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. Identify, troubleshoot, solve and document network connectivity and performance issues. Monitor network performance and optimize the network for optimal speed and availability. Configure and maintain routers, switches, access points, firewalls for the company LANs and WAN. Plan and coordinate network cabling needs. Diagnose problems with network equipment and perform equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate. Research, propose, analyze, deploy and manage network-based security solutions, including firewall, and intrusion detection systems. Take lead on maintenance of VOIP phone system; support analog lines. Work with IT Manager in planning, installation, maintenance and documentation of Company network. Provide technical support to users concerning network system operations. Work with the IT Manager weekly and monthly to define project and maintenance priorities. Work with the IT Manager and President on major Network Administration initiatives. Manage related projects, make plans, recommend purchases, make implementation plans, and implement new hardware and software configurations. Evaluate and recommend new technologies for implementation that will assist the company to be more efficient. Provide technical analysis for management when evaluating new processes/procedures. Participate in 24x7 on-call support of company network. Monitor system capacity and performance through 24x7 system monitoring and alert notifications to ensure the stability of the production environment. Respond to any issues that affect production. Work closely with IT team and other strategic teams to provide support on projects as directed by the needs of the business. Track hardware lifecycles of all Network related devices. Be responsible for creating plans to be approved with IT Manager and President to replace network components well in advance of their scheduled obsolesce/end of life. Collaborate with TPI-approved vendors to develop viable solutions, equipment procurement, and trouble escalation if needed. Work with vendors and IT Manager to create service level agreements and the appropriate warranty service plans for hardware and software. Establish a performance baseline for our infrastructure. Monitor and document any changes and provided weekly reports to the IT Manager for analysis. Perform regular security monitoring of network hardware to identify any possible intrusions. Continue to maintain and advance Cisco certifications to meet company requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications AA degree in Computer Sciences or related field, or the equivalent combination of college, training, certifications and work experience. One or more of the following certifications or equivalent are required: Cisco CCNA Certification Cisco CCNP Certification of some type Must have a minimum of 5 years of related IT networking experience, including operational knowledge of network and routing protocols, and familiarity with a variety of networking and personal computer software. Working knowledge of Cisco switch configuration and programming. Advanced knowledge of network and Cisco network operating systems; and testing and diagnostic techniques; knowledge of network topologies and software. Ability to install, configure and trouble-shoot network software and hardware and communication equipment and operating systems. Ability to provide some level of back-up to Systems Administrator and/or Desktop Technician preferred. Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to prepare clear, complete and concise reports Must produce work that is neat and organized and clearly documented. Install, support, and maintain enterprise-grade hardware and software infrastructure aligned with industry best practices. Implement and maintain the physical infrastructure that supports virtualized environments. Research emerging technologies and trends to make informed recommendations that support the organization's goals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. 4-7 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructure. Advanced expertise in BGP and dynamic routing protocols. Proven experience deploying and maintaining Next Generation Firewalls and security-focused infrastructure (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower). Working knowledge of SASE and SD-WAN platforms, with a solid understanding of public cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
