About Youth on Fire
Established in 2000, Youth on Fire (YOF) is a daytime drop-in center dedicated to supporting unhoused and unaccompanied youth in Greater Boston. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this welcoming program provides a judgment-free environment where members can find safety, enjoy a homemade meal, access showers or a place to nap, receive referrals, and work on their personal goals.
How You Will Be Making a Difference
* Direct Services & Case Management
* Maintain the efficiency of the drop-in center by managing the floor and proactively providing services like access to hygiene supplies, food, electronics, clothing, laundry, and more
* Maintain a consistent, welcoming presence in the drop-in space to foster belonging and safety.
* Conduct intake assessments and support them on their self-identified goals.
* Provide ongoing case management, advocacy, and follow-up to help youth address a variety of issues which may include housing, education, legal support, substance use, employment, and healthcare services, etc. Coordinate with other service providers as needed.
* Support youth in obtaining vital documents (e.g., ID, birth certificate, Social Security card) and accessing benefits.
* Responsible for coordinating and tracking the delivery of services, referrals, and conversations with clients.
* Participate in weekly team meetings. Present client material, consult with team members on challenging and difficult client issues. Participate in supervision and attend all relevant and required training.
* Develop and facilitate engaging activities that meet member needs and build rapport like life skills groups, sexual education groups, substance use groups, and stress reduction groups.
* Provide HIV and STI counseling and testing services in a confidential, respectful, and non-judgmental manner.
* Be trained in and learn phlebotomy techniques and perform blood draws as part of routine HIV and STI screening procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding documentation, specimen submission to public health laboratories, result delivery, and referral processes.
* Deliver accurate and culturally sensitive education to clients on HIV and STI transmission, prevention strategies, and available treatment options.
* Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and conflict mediation as needed.
* Perform opening and closing duties as necessary, including setting up cots, preparing food, and more
* Maintain the cleanliness of the drop-in by engaging in daily team cleaning and organization, including washing dishes, wiping down tables, doing drop-in laundry, organizing supplies, and more
* Documentation & Compliance
* Maintain accurate, timely case notes and data in compliance with agency and funder requirements.
* Track youth outcomes and progress toward service goals.
* Engage in regular training for various databases used at the drop-in
* Work with Assistant Program Director to perform quarterly data quality control in EMR database
Education and Experience
* Bachelors Degree
* Experience with behavior management systems, treatment planning, crisis intervention, case management and providing individual, group and/or family therapy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of Department of Children and Families and other local child and family advocate agencies
* Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications

The Harbor Area Family Resource Center, located in Chelsea, MA is seeking a bilingual Spanish Family Support Worker (FSW). The FSW provides information and educational resources to family members in addition to providing referrals to community resources. The FSW develops the FRC calendar and hosts parent and Youth Support groups. They are responsible for recruiting and providing support to volunteers who shall lead specialized support groups as needed and will be responsible for helping coordinate group activities, facilitating and advertising groups. The role is full time and in person.

* Assist families in accessing support and resources in their community to meet child and family needs.

Eliot is seeking compassionate, service-oriented Youth Advocates to work in a staff-secure setting for court-involved youth, ages 13 to 21 within our Juvenile Justice residential network. This position offers a unique opportunity to positively impact a youth's life by providing patient, supportive care and mentorship.
The role is multifaceted, encompassing advocacy, skill building, care coordination, education and role modeling. You will work as part of a dedicated team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of professionals inspiring positive change in the youth we serve.
Responsibilities:
Use principles and practices of youth development and trauma informed care to create a safe and therapeutic environment
Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity
Foster the youth's skills and interests and mentor their positive development.
Implement program activities that are safe and foster personal growth and healthy choices
Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among youth
Implement applicable safety and emergency requirements including use of crisis prevention and de-escalation skills
Qualifications:
High school diploma or related experience
Experience working with youth
Valid Massachusetts drivers license

JRI's Children's Friend and Family Services division is committed to assisting families and their children who are dealing with substantial behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges. Schedule: This position requires availability to work from afternoons into the evenings. While weekend hours are available, they are not mandatory. The scheduling for this role is flexible and will be adjusted based on your availability as well as that of the client or family.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.
Sign-on Bonus: We are offering a $1,000 sign on bonus paid out in full after 6 months of employment.

Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age.
A Bachelor's degree in a human services field is preferred, or an Associate's degree in the same field is acceptable.
A minimum of one year of experience working with youth and families in need of behavioral management to address mental health concerns or specific target populations.
Ability to learn the needs of the youth under our care and their families; a willingness to offer a variety of interventions and treatments required by this population.
Maintain a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle as transporting youth is required.
Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Under the direction of supervisor, primarily responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for clients. The Residential Counselor is expected to be knowledgeable of the program's mission, treatment philosophy, and policies and procedures and to implement this understanding in their direct care and supervision of clients.
In this position, the Residential Counselor will counsel, observe, and provide behavioral training, outreach support, advocacy and treatment to children and their families to facilitate reunification and/or long-term out of home placement. Additional case management duties include ensuring that the individuals served are supported to lead emotionally and physically healthy lifestyles in preparation for long-term placement. This may include, but is not limited to, exercise and nutrition training, community integration, psycho- educational therapeutic counseling, human rights advocacy, medical advocacy, medication administration, social and life-skills training, as well as educational and life planning.
Position Description
Under the direction of supervisor, primarily responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for clients. The Residential Counselor is expected to be knowledgeable of the program's mission, treatment philosophy, and policies and procedures and to implement this understanding in their direct care and supervision of clients.
How You'll Be Making a Difference
* Knowledge and application of program routines/ structure. Maintain a general understanding of the population of clients with whom we work
* Foster healthy, appropriate relationships with our clients through daily interactions
* Develop an understanding of level system (cards, behavior contracts, etc.)
* Supervise and coordinate activities of daily living for students, including hygiene, clothing, chores, and other activities. Assist children with the transition from each scheduled activity.
* Provide First Aid appropriately as needed
* May plan and participate in activities with clients/students on an individual and small group (less than 6) level in accordance with treatment plans and goals. Teach age appropriate life skills and social skills through modeling, counseling, and other techniques. Participate in groups and activities designed to enhance growth and development.
* Participate in off campus recreational/educational activities
* Maintain a safe and supportive environment. Manage living, dining, educational, recreational areas to provide a clean, organized environment for students. Insure adequate supervision of students through coordination of care with other staff.
* Provide group and individual behavior support and intervention as trained, including the use of TCI appropriate physical restraint as necessary. Coordinate medical and emergency situations with the supervisor.
* Communicate through written and verbal means with other program staff on positive skills and accomplishments as well as difficult or challenging client issues
* Complete all assigned paperwork including time sheet, level card, goal/ level tracking, incident reporting, and 51A's in a thorough and timely manner
* Attend trainings
* Participate in supervision meetings with supervisor
* May be asked to prepare weekend meals
* May be required to carry a mobile device
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent
* One year child care experience in a residential setting with similar population of children
* Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications
