Cardiac anesthesia available but not required; fellowship training and TEE certification is preferred.
Nearly 300 pump and endovascular structural heart cases annually.

The Licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineer will perform interdisciplinary reviews of plans and documents for large multifaceted structures at nationally recognized research university. They will execute complex engineering and constructability analysis related to work covered by the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, including NFPA Codes, other referenced standards, Virginia Statewide Fire Code, and GMU Construction Design Standards for new construction, renovations, and repairs of educational, commercial, industrial, one and two family dwellings, and other structures to assure compliance with the code and related regulations prior to permit issuance. They will also conduct interdisciplinary inspections throughout all phases of construction to verify compliance with codes and related regulations during construction. Perform evaluations of proposed alternative designs to determine whether equivalent measures are provided. Provide analysis and decisions requiring engineering and constructability expertise as they affect life safety. The work shall be performed in a complex and fast-paced setting requiring professional expertise, attention to details, and client assistance. Other related duties as required under the supervision of the University Building Official.

* Review plans of new construction, renovation, and repairs of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings and other structures at the various design stages beginning no later than the preliminary design phase and provide code analysis of compliance. * Evaluate alternative designs using accepted engineering practices. The review shall verify compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, ADA, other referenced standards, the Statewide Fire Prevention Code, and the GMU Design Standards;
* Review shop drawings, calculations, and/or submittals for compliance to code;
* Perform interdisciplinary inspections of new construction, renovation, and repairs of buildings and other structures to verify materials, footings, foundations, framing, insulation, electrical, mechanical, fuel gas, plumbing, accessibility and final inspections.;
* Ensure compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, the Statewide Fire Code, and the GMU Design Standards.;

Tuition Remission

Employees who work a minimum of 1,500 hours per contract year (July 1 to June 30) and have completed three years of prior full-time employment, either with St. Christopher's School or another institution in a similar role, will be eligible to receive JK-12 tuition grants for eligible children enrolled in St. Christopher's School or St. Catherine's Schools. The three years of prior full-time employment must immediately precede the awarding of this tuition grant. For purposes of this benefit, full-time employment is defined as: a minimum of 1,500 hours per year for faculty employees and a minimum of 1,800 hours per year for all other employees. Employees with a full-time start date before July 1, 2020, who have met the eligibility criteria as stated above and have worked a minimum of 1,500 hours per year for the school prior to this date, will receive a tuition grant of 90%. Employees with a full-time start date on or after July 1, 2020, will receive a tuition grant of 75% upon completion of the eligibility criteria as stated above. Grants do not include non-tuition expenses such as fees, books, supplies, etc.
The School will provide tuition grants for up to four eligible children and will support one year in JK. Eligible children are defined as the biological, adoptive or legal ward of the eligible employee.
Extended Day
Employees receive full tuition remission for Extended Day services for the period of time up until the end of their regular workday.
Summer Programs
Employees are eligible to receive discounts on Summer Programs offered by St. Christopher's School. Discounts are also available for summer Extended Day offerings.
Meals
Employees receive lunch at no expense while School is in session. In order to perform normal mealtime duties, all full-time employees, as well as their immediate families, may receive breakfast five days a week and dinner two days a week at no expense when breakfast or dinner is served.

Leave Policies
Wellness Leave
Full-time employees receive ten (10) paid wellness leave days per fiscal year and may accumulate and carry forward any unused wellness leave days to a maximum of sixty (60) days. Included in the 10 wellness days are two (2) personal days that may be converted and used. Part-time employees will receive and may accumulate and carry forward a prorated amount of wellness leave days based upon the amount of time worked. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ESL Teacher is required to plan and implement instruction for high school newcomer students who have limited skills with the English language; is responsible for developing the English skills that enable students to be successful in the regular classroom; works with the classroom teachers and guidance counselors of students to aid them in the proficiency of the English language. The ESL Teacher must be certified for the administration of the WIDA screener and the ACCESS 2.0 Assessment. In addition to instructing a Newcomer ESL course, the teacher will also instruct an English 9 or Math course and must also hold a content endorsement in English Language Arts or Math 9-12.

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Performs difficult technical and administrative work planning, implementing and supervising all food service activities of the School Division; does related work as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of an Assistant Superintendent of Schools. Supervision is exercised over cafeteria managers, workers and other food service staff.
This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects; work requires standing, and walking; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS

Directs the issuance of USDA donated commodities, allocation of foods to individual schools, and keeps proper records on storage and distribution of all food received;
Interprets program to parents and community through informal talks, news releases and other available means;
Conducts regular meetings with food service manager to interpret, administer and enforce standards and regulations for all school meals programs;
Works with the Suffolk Department of Health to ensure proper standards of sanitation are maintained in the facilities;
Assists in the development and implementation of nutrition education materials and programs;
Develops and administers accounting procedures and records for proper control and management of money, labor, food, supplies, equipment, etc.; verifies all food service billings;
Supervises the operation of the food service warehouse;
Performs related tasks as required.

Essential Duties
Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual or team sports, utilizing curriculum designated by Newport News Public Schools and other appropriate learning activities.
Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of Newport News Public Schools.
Works cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning and implementing a balanced physical education program.
Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of formal sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.
Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the division's basic instructional philosophy and congruent with course and SOL standards; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas.
Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.
