    Your Opportunity as The Lead Engineer - FH&S - TSO The Lead Engineer will cultivate Formula and Processing expertise across FH&S (Frozen Handhelds & Spreads) SBA product base, while supporting delivery of projects and optimizations. The Lead Engineer will work with cross-functional partners to deliver robust solutions for new product initiatives. Location: You can pick to work at any of these locations: Orrville, OH, Memphis, TN, Lexington, KY, Longmont, CO, McCalla, AL, and Scottsville, KY. Work Arrangements: 30% Travel to key sites 100% on-site at the plants. AM Shift - Flexibility required. Willingness to flow to the work as needed In this Role You Will: Independently manage and execute development and optimization initiatives within formulation and process functions. Develop Advanced understanding associated with one or more disciplines within FH&S: Uncrustables, jams, jellies & spreads (JJP) and peanut butter, including roasting and roaster validation expertise Utilize conceptual and practical expertise in formulation, process engineering and related disciplines in product development and optimization Manage specifications and changes with associated testing or project work, as needed. Continuously demonstrates expertise to analyze data trends and execute data mining exercises Provide technical mentoring and collaboration within the TSO department and Plant Operations to drive continuous improvement Serve as a sought-after technical resource for food technologists and process engineers Advocate for increased standardization across ingredients, transformations, and equipment Lead and deliver capital projects as needed; support capital projects led by plant or SBA engineers Design out defects (quality/cost/loss) in the early phases of projects Design and execute qualifications with suppliers, production facilities, and contract manufacturers Execute proof of concept and recommendation of new technologies supporting formulation, process, and food safety improvements Develop highly collaborative relationships with technical functional teams. Communicate project status/updates effectively and timely to peer stakeholders and leadership. Seek opportunities to incorporate reliability/productivity upgrades into project scope and designs. Interface with Technical Food Safety resources to incorporate improved product protection elements associated with SBA Processing systems Review and provide input to process and formulation solutions proposed for initiatives, including potential problem analysis for scale-up Support R&D, QA, and Operations with statistical analysis functions for food safety, analytical science, and R&D projects. Experience using Initiative Management (IM) pillar tools, equipment specifications, equipment selection, vendor shakedown, commissioning/qualification/verification (CQV) protocols, qualifying materials/processes is preferred. Fundamental understanding of FDA production systems, along with advanced knowledge of food chemistry is desired. Priority setting and Problem solving: Demonstrated ability to be decisive, proactive, tactical in decision-making behavior and self-directive. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to direct the efforts of a team including engaging team members and enabling the team's success; Ability to influence without authority, work effectively across boundaries.
