Position Summary
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking applications for a 12-month, Tenured/Tenure -Track, open rank faculty position.
The College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and Master's programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
The faculty member will have clinical, research, teaching and service obligations. These responsibilities include direct and indirect involvement in the post-doctoral and pre-doctoral specialty educational programs for DMD and Advanced Standing students, as well as postgraduate residents in the College of Dentistry's Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS). The programmatic responsibilities include didactic, laboratory, clinical and patient care courses and other assignments for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS). The faculty member shall work with the OMFS Department Head and be responsible for development of the program curriculum, staff development and administrative needs of the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery clinical and educational programs. Research and scholarly activities are expected as well as presentations of abstracts, posters, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)/Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD and a MD degree, and fellowship training in head and neck oncology/microvascular reconstruction preferred. Completion of an American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA CODA) accredited advanced education program in OMFS. Dental (and medical, if applicable) licensure in the state of Illinois. OMFS Board Certification by the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). Preferred qualifications include experience in evidenced-based dentistry, curriculum development and practice management. Postdoctoral training with an outstanding research and publication record. History of academic accomplishments and the ability to develop an independent research program with evidence of successful procurement of internal and external grant funding on a competitive basis. A demonstrated ability, or high potential, to attract external funding. Strong commitment to interdisciplinary patient care and willingness to engage with other academic departments. History of sustained and ongoing intramural and extramural funded research, with academic/scientific experience in research mentoring
ABOMS Diplomate status highly preferred, or educational qualification for such status. Experience such as leadership in teaching, mentoring, research, or service towards building an equitable and diverse academic and scholarly environment. Previous university-level teaching experience both at the pre-doctoral and post graduate levels. Ability to mentor students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows. A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and research funding. Demonstrated experience of mentoring junior faculty, and graduate and/or professional students. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in fostering collaborative research between a dental school and outside entities (eg. medical center) is desired.

Position Summary
The UIC School of Public Health is seeking two full-time instructional faculty to support our newly developed, fully online, asynchronous Master of Public Health (MPH) Generalist Concentration and online, asynchronous Public Health Foundations Certificate Program. Courses are taught in 8-week terms, and faculty are expected to teach 7-8 courses per calendar year, including practicum and capstone teaching/advising. Responsibilities include course development, teaching, student supervision/advising of capstone projects, and participation in concentration-, divisional-, and/or School-level service. At least one position will be responsible for helping students locate and be placed in applied practice experiences (experiential learning sites). Faculty will be at the rank of Lecturer or Instructor (or Senior Lecturer/Instructor) and must meet the following minimum qualifications based on rank.

* Received a degree from a CEPH-accredited school or program of public health.
* Experience teaching/advising health professions students (e.g., MD, PharmD, DMD, DNP).
* Proximity to the Chicago area to enable working with UIC instructional designers, in our media development studio, on course material development, student meetings, and college-level service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching (clinical, didactic and laboratory) and clinical service. This position is available as either a tenure-track or clinical-track appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative, supportive, and dynamic team of four FARMS (Food Animal Reproductive and Medicine Service) clinicians and additional extension and research faculty committed to excellence in food animal teaching, clinical care, and scholarship. The FARMS service is a cornerstone of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and maintains strong relationships with local producers referring veterinarians, and UIUC research and teaching herds.
Clinical Responsibilities and Caseload
The FARMS service provides comprehensive care for a diverse mix of patients, including dairy and beef cattle (approximately 60% of caseload), small ruminants, camelids, and other production or companion livestock. Clinical duties will include internal medicine, common surgical procedures, and basic reproductive service. The caseload is a balance of primary care and complex referral cases, offering a stimulating environment for continued professional growth.
The successful candidate will participate in after-hours emergency services on a rotating basis with other FARMS faculty, with support from house officers and dedicated technical staff. Consultation and collaboration across specialties, such as dermatology, cardiology, and neurology, are readily available through the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Teaching and Mentorship
A central part of this role is mentoring and training the next generation of veterinarians and specialist. The appointee will contribute to didactic lectures, clinical skills laboratory, and clinical teaching of DVM students during their 2-week FARMS rotations throughout the year. Clinical teaching will also involve the supervision and mentorship of house officers, including residents and interns pursuing advanced training.
The Veterinary Clinical Medicine department emphasizes a supportive culture of teaching excellence, with faculty mentorship resources available to help develop innovative instructional approaches and advance the pedagogical skills of faculty.
