The Computed Tomography team at Johns Hopkins is dedicated to providing the best possible images at the lowest possible dose. All technical and patient dose settings are customized for each patient and technologists actively partake in discussions on determining the best protocols for cases. Under the general supervision of the Chief CTTechnologist and Senior CTtechnologist, performs CT protocols and procedures utilizing highly technical CT equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Work requires completion of an AMA approved program for Radiologic Technology or equivalent which is required in a two year college or technical school program.
Three to six months work experience in CT Imaging.
ARRT certified with current registration required. Radiography license by the Maryland Board of Physicians OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist license by the Maryland Board of Physicians with special license to operate standalong/hybrid CT devices for Diagnostic CT. ARRT Computed Tomography CT certification.
CPR certification required with three months of employment.

The Johns Hopkins Cardiovascular Diagnostic Laboratory (CVDL) is a state of the art imaging facility performing over 24,000 diagnostic and interventional procedures annually. We treat the following conditions:

The Department of Imaging and Imaging Sciences at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center includes over 25 Johns Hopkins School of Medicine specialized radiologists who perform more than 130,000 exams and procedures annually. The department serves our patients and our East Baltimore community, as well as national and international referrals.
Our department is equipped with the latest equipment and utilizes innovative technology and imaging techniques. We offer a wide spectrum of imaging services including diagnostic, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine exams as well as interventional procedures. We are committed to enhance our trainee's education and improve patient outcomes.
Johns Hopkins Bayview is searching for a CT (CAT Scan) Technologist to join our elite Radiology team. As a CT Tech you will scan and assist in procedures on patients who are extremely ill or injured, patient care , transporting, stocking, EPIC, answering phones, and contrast injections.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program
* ARRT Certification (preferred post primary ARRT Computed Tomography certification and Maryland Licensure from the Board of Physicians OR NMTCB certified with current registration combined with specialty exam for CT and a radiology license from the Maryland Board of Physicians with special license approving the operation of standalone/hybrid CT devices for diagnostic CT.

* Counsels patients on radiographic examinations.
* Lifts and correctly positions patients onto examination tables in order to achieve desired radiographic results.
* Determines proper technical factors such as voltage, current, exposure time, and focal distance based on patient size, physical condition and suspected pathology.
* Adjusts lead shields to protect unaffected parts of the patient's anatomy.
* Selects and loads proper film. Positions X-ray equipment at correct distance and operates equipment according to specific diagnostic procedures.
* Operates portable X-ray equipment and uses special equipment such as tomography.
* Verifies all patient films, examination requisitions and records are properly completed.
* Processes film, reloads cassettes and reviews developed film for quality.
* Checks equipment and accessories to ensure proper operation. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
* Transports patients as required.
* Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Regularly checks to ensure adequate diagnostic supplies are available.
* High school diploma required; Associate's degree in radiologic technology is preferred.
* At least two years of experience as a Radiation Technologist.
* Certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist by the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance is required.
* Certification from ARRT required.
* AHA BLS CPR certification required.
