The Pharmacist Coordinator A will review, assess, and verify complex medication orders (including chemotherapy), complete therapeutic drug monitoring (e.g., vancomycin, methotrexate, anticoagulation), and collaborate with the Oncology Pharmacy Clinical Specialists and interdisciplinary team. They will also provide oversight of the complex oncology pharmacy operations that supports 100 inpatient beds, ambulatory bone marrow transplant (BMT)/cellular therapy patients, and 3 ambulatory infusion clinics. The pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents of ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy practice and PGY-2 specialty practice programs. Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in longitudinal operational projects, support drug research conducted by the institution, and seek to assume a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, the department is responsible for providing acute care pharmacy services for a diverse population of medical, surgical, oncology, and pediatric patients, with additional services provided within the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and affiliated clinics. Applicants are preferred to have completed, or be in the process of completing, an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency program or have equivalent experience. This Clinical Pharmacist 1 is responsible for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to promote the safe and effective use of medications during the medication order review and verification process as well as addressing clinical pharmacy questions and concerns. Additional responsibilities for the position include: medication management, emergency code response, care coordination, drug information response, and education to students, residents, pharmacists, other health care practitioners and patients and family members. There is not typically a routine rounding component to this position. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm. D. or BS degree. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is desired. Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required. Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired. Previous clinical health-system experience is desired.
