Summary: The Big Red Farm (BRF) was established in 2012 to offer students the opportunity to engage in the intellectual and physical work of farming. The farm aims to serve as an ongoing experiment in sustainable agriculture. The Lawrenceville Big Red Farm manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations with an eye toward student learning.
The Big Red Farm enriches our community by growing nutritious food through regenerative agriculture methods that connect hands, heads, and hearts to the land. In the words of Lawrenceville alumnus Aldo Leopold (class of 1905), we seek to instill in students a Land Ethic that "enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or collectively: the land."
This is a 12-month position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Meet regularly with the Director of Sustainability and the Director of Experiential Education to assess program progress and to undergo strategic planning.
Supervise operations assistant.
Work with faculty to supervise the after-school Lifetime Farming and Sustainability co-curricular program during the fall and spring terms.
Work with the faculty and administration to incorporate the farm into other aspects of the school's academic curriculum, house events, dining halls, community service efforts, and overall ethos.
Assist in the orientation, teaching, and management of BRF faculty farm fellows and summer interns.
Oversee day-to-day operation of the farm in a safe and ecologically sustainable manner, including but not limited to: crop planning, seeding, maintenance, and harvest; care of laying hens and egg harvest; honey bees, guard dogs, and farm cats.
Maintain supplies, tools, facilities, and equipment, including tractors and attachments, greenhouses & related equipment, farm garage, farm office, basic power tools, vehicles, fencing, and irrigation equipment.
Assist in planning courses on regenerative agriculture that connect with disciplines such as Science, Religion, and Philosophy.
Develop long-range educational, operational, maintenance, and capital plans for the farm that can be completed at current staffing levels.
Create and manage an education-focused plan and budget that identifies learning outcomes for farm products and initiatives.
Coordinate seasonal farm open hours and potential deliveries to local food pantries and other nearby food access organizations.
Develop, implement, and oversee farm safety guidelines to include students, animals, equipment, food, and worker health.
Maintain productive working relationships with other farmers on Lawrenceville School property; recommended other farms for sharing resources and knowledge, including Princeton Seminary “Farminary,” other nearby farms, and Rodale Institute.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, philosophy, or related field.
Three+ years of experience in regenerative agriculture, teaching, and learning; agriculture experience includes planting, harvesting, weeding, animal care, and equipment use.
USDA Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and ServSafe certifications preferred or the ability to attain.
Passion for teaching and working with adolescents.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to relate to students, supervisors, staff, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Commitment to Big Red Farm goals.
Organized, thorough, and detail-oriented work style, with strong time and task management skills.

As a technical director, you will work under the guidance of the production manager and the chair of production design to ensure the safe, accurate, and effective execution of scenic designs created for projects within the SCAD School of Film and Acting (SFLM). Productions include live theater and events, as well as film and television recordings. You will oversee the scene, costume, prop, paint, and lighting shops, and lead staff, including an assistant technical director, scenic charge, costume shop manager, painters, carpenters, and scene technicians. Your responsibilities will encompass staff management for set builds, load-ins, notes calls, and strikes to ensure the highest quality completion, while also promoting interdepartmental collaboration to realize production visions. You will facilitate effective communication with designers, develop technical solutions for the safety, function, and structure of scenic elements, and provide on-set construction support for various teams. Additionally, you will prepare detailed scenic materials and labor estimates for each production and produce construction drawings based on the design plans.
In this role, you will recruit and hire carpenters to supplement crews and act as the primary on-call emergency technician to ensure prompt resolution of show-related incidents. Production-related responsibilities also include the organization of weekly meetings in collaboration with the production coordinator during rehearsals, load-ins, technical rehearsals, and strikes. You will support design needs, such as scenic, costume, and other artifacts for admission events. Responsibilities encompass collaborating with department leaders on seasonal budgets, building schedules, and scenic design deadlines; managing scenic budgets; and purchasing materials and equipment.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the shop manager to ensure the safe operation of shop tools and equipment, office storage areas, and vehicles. You will also work together to verify that all SFLM projects comply with OSHA and SCAD safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment in all shops, studios, and theaters for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include oversight of lighting, sound, and communications equipment, building maintenance, and the development of tool and equipment maintenance schedules. Management of all inventories and showing package information is also part of this role. Other duties may be assigned at any time.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical theater, production, or a related field
At least five years of relevant industry experience or training in a scene shop
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
Knowledge of stage machinery (e.g., automation, motorized scenery, and pneumatics) tools, techniques, materials, and safe working procedures in scenic construction, theatrical rigging, and scenic art
Ability to understand and create informative, well-organized working drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, or Vectorworks), lighting software (e.g., Qlab), and digital rendering software (e.g., VRay or KeyShot)
Preferred qualifications:
Familiar with laser cutting equipment, CNC router programming, and 3D printing

Valid Class “C” Georgia driving license or ability to obtain one

Summary: The Athletic Custodian and Utility employee keeps the premises of The Lawrenceville School Athletic facilities in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate vacuum cleaners, auto scrubbers, carpet extractors, sweepers, burnishing machines, side-by-side low speed machines, weighted stone machines, wet/dry vacuums, air movers, and Kaivav bathroom cleaning machines.
Keep equipment in good working order. Immediately reports defective equipment to the supervisor.
Clean all glass using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, metal surfaces, and trim using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and elevator tracks, stairways, and locker rooms and other campus areas using correct techniques and chemicals.
Empty trash receptacles daily, including feminine hygiene disposal containers, making sure that the container is clean and a new liner is provided.
Sweep, dust mop, damp mop, scrub/strip and wax all hard floors, steps and stairways using proper chemicals and equipment.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using proper chemicals and equipment.
Dust all hard surfaces, furniture, and equipment. Polishes metalwork.
Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Clean chalkboards, erasers, and eraser trays using proper equipment.
Empty wastebaskets. Places all recycling items in proper containers.
Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
Replenish bathroom supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap as needed.
Clean custodian closet. Empties vacuum cleaner or changes bag between half and three-quarters full, changes belt as needed.
Move furniture, athletic equipment and other items within a building, as directed, to ensure proper cleaning. Set up athletic rooms by activity.
Must attend training and development classes and/or sessions as directed by Custodial Management.
Assist in the washing and drying of laundry loops.
Maintain levels of attendance, punctuality, and appearance as required by departmental standards.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Replace incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs.
Shovel building entrance ways, steps, porches, and exists when snow removal is necessary. Salts all areas after snow is removed in houses, academic, and administrative buildings.
