Description of Duties:
Performs nutritional and breastfeeding/chestfeeding risk assessment and follow-up
Conducts individual and group nutrition education and breastfeeding/chestfeeding support forlow-risk and high-risk participants in the WIC Program utilizing motivational interviewing and other participant-centered education techniques as appropriate.
Documents care plans, assessment data, follow up notes, and referrals in the Women, Infant, and Children Web Information System Exchange (WIC WISE) database
Reinforces Medical Nutrition therapy when made available by health care Providers
Consults with physicians, Lactation Consultants, and other health professional staff relating to participants who have special health care needs, breastfeeding problems, and therapeutic formula prescriptions
Conducts presentations to WIC staff on a variety of program and nutrition topics
Is responsible for other tasks as assigned to support WIC Program site operations
Must be willing to work flexible hours

Key Responsibilities:
