Educated at Wadham College, Oxford, Roger Gillard retired in 1998 after 15 years as Head of Hillstone.
2000 - Malvern Hills Science Park officially opened to promote high technology R&D businesses in the area.
Malvern Prep owned the 40-acre landmark until 2000 when it was purchased and preserved as a National Historic property.

Ellerslie eventually moved to new buildings in College Road and in 2009 the prep department moved to the Downs School at Colwall which was started by the Cadbury family, who were Quakers.
In 2009 the Malvern Gazette reported that a former pupil, Stephen Rimmer, who was born and grew up in Malvern, had been appointed Director General for Crime Reduction and Community Safety in the Home Office.
A year later, in November 2010, the two newly-refurbished rackets courts were opened and dedicated to the long-serving and much-loved professional, Ron Hughes.
About 2010, the Ellerslie site was sold to Audley, a property development company that is building a number retirement villages in the UK. The one being built on the site of Ellerslie is known as 'Audley Ellerslie'. Audley Court Ltd is now part of the larger, London based, Moorfield Group.
Under the auspice of the Conservative Government Academy Trust scheme, on 4th October 2011 'The Chase School' became a Company Limited by Guarantee (company number 07800306) receiving its funding direct from central government, rather than through the Local Authority.
2011 - Malvern Cyber Security Cluster forms to support and promote the growing cyber security industry in the region.
2012 - The Wyche Innovation Centre was founded in the former Skot Transformers building to provide an incubation space for small businesses and entrepreneurs in the town.
2012 - The first annual Malvern Festival of Innovation is held
2012 - Great Malvern officially twins with the spa town Marianske Lazne in the Czech Republic.
In 2012 Malvern College, Qingdao, was opened and it has been followed by developments in Chengdu, Hong Kong and Egypt.
The photo below taken in March 2015 shows the empty Victorian building as the adjoining science block (left, out of picture) was being demolished in preparation for building a retirement village on the site.

2015 - Route to the Hills partnership project starts to promote Malvern's rich historic and cultural offer to people of all ages.
In 2015, the Science Centre was refurbished, establishing the College at the forefront of science teaching once again.
In February 2016 a former pupil kindly sent us information about The Hill School, which was a preparatory boarding school for boys.
The land and buildings were then sold to Audley Court Ltd who applied for planning permission to develop the site for a large retirement village, which in 2016 was under construction on the site of Ellerslie, Cherbourg and Southlands.

After changing hands again, Hatley St George was further being renovated by Developer Steve Hickman in 2017.
In September 2018 the extensive redevelopment of the Rogers Theatre was complete and is the start of the focus on providing outstanding facilities across the arts.
Interserve collapsed into administration in March 2019 and was bought by creditors including Royal Bank of Scotland and HSBC. Ordinary shareholders lost their money.
After years of close informal co-operation, Abberley Hall School and Malvern College formed a formal association in 2019.
In 2020 local historian Cora Weaver was able to acquire the Link School roll of those that had won honours in the Great War.
Malvern College’s seventh international campus, Malvern College Switzerland, opened its doors to pupils in September 2021.
