Key Responsibilities:

Reads the transportation schedule daily and assures all scheduled appointments can be met.
Is flexible for unscheduled transportation needs in an emergency.
Monitors resident activity and alerts staff when assistance is necessary to assure resident safety.
Completes routine periodic vehicle inspection checks and informs Executive Director of any maintenance problems or safety issues that need to be addressed.
Is thoroughly familiar with fire, missing persons, and other emergency procedures; follows community policy and procedures detailed in fire and disaster plans.
Requires minimal supervision; is a self-starter.
All other duties that are assigned by any member of management.
Follows emergency procedures and understands the safety practices and procedures.
Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action; demonstrates consistently pleasant demeanor, tone of voice, supports the philosophy and approach to resident care and passenger safety used by the community.
Communicates effectively with supervisor and other staff.
Advises supervisor and appropriate manager of any changes in physical and mental health of resident immediately.
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:
Must have current Class F or CDL state driver's license and clean driving record.
Experience in a driving position preferred.
A passion for working with seniors a plus.
Must have ability to operate van lift.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to work comfortably with residents with dementia

Qualification/Experience:

Position Summary:
Resident Service Director, Float is responsible for overseeing the implementation, and coordination of Resident Care services at each of the Maplewood Communities. The floating Resident Service Director is responsible for evaluating standards of quality, compliance, service, training, expense control, and revenue generation within our communities. The role is one of support for the nursing and executive leadership within each community.
Essential Functions:
Along with the nursing leadership in each community, the RN Support Nurse role is to assist in the development of programs affecting resident care with an emphasis on quality of life, safe aging, and optimal healthy lifestyle.
Train new Personal Care (“PC”) staff, specifically RSD's, and supportive nursing staff as needed to comply with company standards.
Plan, organize, and direct nursing leadership on quality operations.
Plan, implement, monitor, risk management programs with the communities.
Evaluate, deliver, gather, and analyze data to identify trends/error with communities' compliance and develop plan of correction as needed.
Formulate and oversee the development/implementation of goals, objectives, plans, policies, and systems pertaining to QA/QI.

Lead activities appropriate for all levels of memory-impaired residents.
Assist with resident special events at the community as needed.
Assist with the completion of Staying Connected Form/Personal History Form for all residents in our memory care program.
Assist with the coordination of WISH Program/Parallel activities with Resident Service Care team.
Maintain all program supplies for recreation programs.
Dining Program
Provide assistance to residents in the dining room in an adult and dignified manner.
Assist RSA's in setting up dining room tables with all needed utensils (including knives) and table clothes, cloth napkins, and centerpieces are in place.
Utilize show plates for residents to assist them in making menu choices prior to ordering.
Utilize diet book as a reference when serving meals.
Wear the DOH recommended grey barrio jackets during meals.
Compliance & Safety
Follows emergency procedures.
Understands and implements all safety practices and procedures.
Will carry a walkie talkie with them at all times to assist with communication to all associates.
Provide the MCD information about resident behaviors to assist with behavioral brainstorming meeting when requested.
Utilize behavior logs for residents who have a history of aggression or agitation.

Must possess a passion for working with seniors and improving their quality of life.
Has a basic understanding of Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diseases is essential.
